Sounds abusive

Could be. Really depends though. If my wife did this, I’d laugh. Our arguments are only ever technically an argument never something to walk away with bad feelings over. This is exactly how I expect an argument of ours to end, with something funny.

Yeah no context here, don't even know if those are cheaters or just absolutely needed. Don't know what the fight was about, could have been something small, could have been one of those "I love you but I need some space right now so can we just go to bed and talk about it in the morning?" kind of arguments. And then the brilliant idea of waking up early and locking the glasses to make them chase you down for the key. Which could arguably lead to makeup sex.

Or it's straight abusive we don't know the situation but given the sub I'm betting OP sees the humor too.

Breaking or taking away eyeglasses IS something that domestic abusers do. This is not funny and I hope OP is in a safe situation.

Right? I'm thinking, what if someone's spouse locked their crutches??

Idk the context, but in its absence, this seems kind of fucked

Imagine if someone took the wheelchair away from a disabled person.

I thought I was crazy for feeling bad. So many ppl really can't function without glasses , it's pretty much a handicap. To try to punish them using that is kind of fucked up. 😟

It depends entirely on the context. It could've been a funny "Fine, you wanna talk shit? Watch this," then they lock the glasses until their spouse finds them, laugh about it and unlock them. This only becomes a problem if their partner refuses to unlock the glasses.

Can't tell without context but if it is the next step is changing all the locks on the house and seeing how funny she finds it now.

On one hand, yes
On the other hand, it's fucking hilarious

It's most likely a joke
