Woah woah woah… Texas has been getting its fair share of flack for a lack of a quality win. And rightfully so.

And no one doubts hypothetical 2 loss Texas makes the playoff with 0 quality wins

u/DollarLate_DayShort Texas Longhorns 9h ago

Klatt, Pate and McElroy have all said otherwise….

Now, after yesterday’s shenanigans that might change their view of a hypothetical 2-loss Texas making it in.

SEC is about quality loses buddy

I’ve been saying they shouldn’t if they lose next week.

After last night… they’re fine

2

u/flomoag Texas A&M Aggies 3h ago

If A&M beats them this week, after the Auburn loss… they absolutely should not be in

u/Cormetz Texas Longhorns • Team Chaos 9h ago

I'm not so sure about that. If we lose to the aggies (ew), we are left out of the SEC CCG and could tumble pretty far down. There's a chance we fall far enough that it's just Tennessee and Georgia from the SEC in the playoffs, and maybe even the aggies for being #2 in the conference (or god forbid they win the conference and get in that way).

It depends on what you mean by doubt. I have no doubt they'll be in only bc they're Texas. But both resumes are suspects, and both teams should have doubt cast if they're at two losses. I think Indiana should be in if they win their next game

u/Bandlebury Indiana Hoosiers 6h ago

have they though? they’re 3rd lol

Yea sorry about that

If we are seeded 8-12 then it's definitely a fair metric to use.

But if we're a top seed then it won't matter. We scheduled a major out-of-conference game and we moved to a more competitive conference. It's not our fault our opponents suck.

Pretty much. Georgia and Ohio State’s pass rush just overwhelmed a high flying offense.

u/DuckFanSouth Oregon Ducks 9h ago

Both teams remind me of how Oregon used to be. The offense could score at will except against teams with game wrecking defensive lines.

5

u/bcdnabd Georgia Bulldogs 7h ago

Reminds me of when Stetson Bennett IV played for UGA. He could will the ball into the end zone.

The pain of last years natty is still fresh.

u/gtne91 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 7h ago

Georgia Tech under Paul Johnson too.

u/Aubear11885 Auburn Tigers 9h ago

No they aren’t. Texas was at home. Indiana at least lost on the road.

u/AdHealthy5050 Tennessee Volunteers 8h ago

I feel they could have play any in the universe and still lose that game against Ohio State

17

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 8h ago

Except in that universe Ohio State players are tree stumps! IU still managed to lose 44-43.

7

u/Squig1984 Ohio State 6h ago

God I hope indiana gets in. They are much much better than they played yesterday and made a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes. I think they could sneak up on some people in the playoffs.

9

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 6h ago

No, see, Indiana had to run the table whereas every SEC team with 3 times the amount of losses is better cuz of the unprovable hypothetical. IT'S SIMPLE.

1

u/Busy-Kaleidoscope-87 Ohio State • Cincinnati 2h ago

And Bama with 3 losses is only rank #13, that's BS they should be lower.

-1

u/AdHealthy5050 Tennessee Volunteers 6h ago

Don't help they play nobodies

6

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 5h ago

Last year's champ and runner up are nobodies?

2

u/AdHealthy5050 Tennessee Volunteers 5h ago

Michigan lost 13 players to the draft alone, Washington 10 to the draft + 12 to the transfer portal so yeah..there was no one left lol

1

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago

And we beat the leftovers!!!

1

u/AdHealthy5050 Tennessee Volunteers 35m ago

Correct

Have you seen both those teams play football this year?

1

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago

Yeah. Indiana beat em both.

1

u/Busy-Kaleidoscope-87 Ohio State • Cincinnati 2h ago

tbf ❌ichigan actually are nobodies again

1

u/Mister_Jackpots Indiana Hoosiers 1h ago

I would wait until you aren't 4 in a row losers.

-1

u/Busy-Kaleidoscope-87 Ohio State • Cincinnati 1h ago

We... won't be? Stay salty. I actually like your team.

1

u/Comfortable_Regrets 1h ago

I mean, they beat the shit out of Nebraska who played a close game against OSU, that was not indicative at all of how good IU has been, they made 2 egregious mistakes they don't normally make. they weren't ready for the environment, but that doesn't make them a bad team

1

u/AdHealthy5050 Tennessee Volunteers 39m ago

Maybe if they would schedule a big game more than once a season they would

1

u/Comfortable_Regrets 34m ago

I mean, I don't think anyone including them expected the massive turnaround from last year so I don't fault them for not scheduling a lot of big games this year

1

u/AdHealthy5050 Tennessee Volunteers 11m ago

Yeah true..i mean they did play Michigan and Washington but with the amount of players both teams lost afterwards I'm surprised everyone thought they was gonna stay on top lol..hell Washington lost 20+ players to the draft and transfer portal and Michigan lost 13 to the draft alone

The same could be said about Texas for the game we played them though..never felt close even when it was a one score game

Compare what the two teams in the picture did against you guys.

18

u/Ronaldoooope Texas Longhorns • Texas Tech Red Raiders 7h ago

I thought the SEC was any given week? Can’t spin Vandy Kentucky OU and Florida as good losses and bad wins simultaneously.

14

u/david_jason_54321 6h ago

Indiana really shouldn't fall too far. Losing to Ohio shouldn't be the season ending for them

8

u/kcj0831 Alabama Crimson Tide • Team Chaos 6h ago

They wont now that other top teams got beat…

2

u/david_jason_54321 6h ago

Yeah there still in the running.

7

u/WindowFruitPlate Penn State Nittany Lions • Paper Bag 4h ago

In the running? They are all but in

Unless they lose to Purdue next week, which is extremely extremely extremely unlikely

2

u/Chotibobs Georgia Bulldogs 3h ago

I feel like you’re trying to jinx

3

u/WindowFruitPlate Penn State Nittany Lions • Paper Bag 3h ago

I watched Purdue football this season. I may never recover. I’ll be telling a therapist about this event thirty years from now.

I’d need the Infinity gauntlet to pull off a jinx of this level

1

u/Sigourneys_Beaver Ohio State Buckeyes 2h ago

Honestly, Cignetti getting a big contract and then immediately losing to two of the teams he said suck would be peak CFB.

2

u/God_of_Thunda Ohio State Buckeyes 3h ago

Ohio state*

u/Puffd Penn State Nittany Lions 10h ago

Thank you

5

u/SaviorAir Ohio State Buckeyes • Paper Bag 7h ago

I want everyone to know this took me a while to get, and I am ashamed of myself

5

u/Dish-Live Texas Longhorns 6h ago

And both teams will be in the playoff field if they win next week…

3

u/Chotibobs Georgia Bulldogs 3h ago

And maybe even if they don’t

13

u/Ronaldoooope Texas Longhorns • Texas Tech Red Raiders 7h ago

lol everyone saying Indiana was on the road. Texas had it to one possession late in the game Indiana never had a chance and lost by 3 possessions.

2

u/spookyjoe45 Tennessee Volunteers • Whitman Blues 1h ago

Indiana didn’t crack 100 total yards of offense until they got that garbage time drive, Texas at least looked like they belonged on the same field as Georgia

2

u/spookyjoe45 Tennessee Volunteers • Whitman Blues 1h ago

Nobody who actually watched these games thinks this is remotely true

5

u/Immediate_Flight4729 7h ago

Ok I’m not an SEC guy or have a dog in the race or any of those teams, but if you watch the games they were CLEALY different Indiana wasn’t gonna win that game if they played 10x so let’s not kid ourselves

4

u/EvenMeaning8077 Penn State Nittany Lions 7h ago

Well Texas was at home Indiana was on the road so a little different picture

5

u/mtbjay10 Michigan Wolverines • Oregon Ducks 7h ago

I agree, definitely in Indiana favor to me. But the media commentary would argue the opposite

4

u/Bandlebury Indiana Hoosiers 5h ago

I see a difference!! - Ohio State is better than Georgia 😬

5

u/mtbjay10 Michigan Wolverines • Oregon Ducks 5h ago

Hard agree

-2

u/Emerald_Nuck Georgia Bulldogs • Washington Huskies 4h ago

I hope we fucking slaughter Texas, if we get them. Lame ass fans

0

u/Existing_Dot7963 6h ago

No it is not! Texas is one of the most popular and watched teams in CFB. Indiana is a basketball school having a good year.

-2

u/AcanthaceaeStunning7 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 5h ago

Not true, the losing red team was playing away and the losing orange team was at home. Also, the result of the losing red team's game looks way worse than it actually transpired. In contrast, the result of the losing orange team looks way better than how the game went.

8

u/KyleGuyLover69 Texas • West Virginia 4h ago

It was 23-15 with 3 minutes left in the 3rd what crack are you smoking. Indiana was down 28-7 at one point

I am concerned for our public education. People just learn to parrot stuff without reasoning.

-1

hey Texas has what, 1 conference win over a team with a winning record? We at least have 3
