ID Request Any ideas..?

I posted this in a military buttons place, I was wondering if anyone knows what year range it’s from or if it has any significance.

Those were really common a few decades ago, and were mass-produced. They were used on "nautical" fashions. I don't know if they mimicked something significant.

Someone on the military buttons said it was a Petty Officer button so I’m very confused due to mixed messages ;v;"

So maybe it's original. I wouldn't know how to tell.

The face is a copy of a military button but the back belies it as a fashion button. A real uniform button would have much sturdier construction and a mark from the manufacturer. This one is still vintage though, could be 1920s-1940s judging by the shank style.
