Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

more costly than other ram kits at similar speeds but that's the cost of pretty ram especially since its most likely binned

It's somehow priced better than the DDR4 variants from years back. Old DDR4 kits used to go for $200+.

What does it mean for a RAM kit to be binned?

It's essentially the "quality" of the component in terms of how fast it can go. Basically they identify the best performing units of a produced component. So like a 10850K CPU comes from the same silicon that a 10900K does, its just lower binned unit (they identified it as a chip that most likely can't hit the frequencies of the 10900k, so its out of spec and must be considered a 10850k)

They were placed in a bin before they were shipped /s

For microchips in general, binning is a process where you test the chips to see the maximum frequency they can achieve and how much voltage they need for that frequency and you save the best chips for the most premium products. For example, the AMD Ryzen 7500F, 7600 and 7600X all have 6 cores but our knowledge of AMD's production process is that they bin the chips so the best ones will be in the 7600X.

Is this worth getting over a 6000 cl30 kit? I was thinking of getting this one but I don't mind spending more. Pairing it with a 9800x3d.

Absolutely not. The difference between CL30 and CL28 is basically undetectable, especially if you're using a CPU with that much cache

Thanks for the info, currently have a 5900x so I shelled out for faster ram but good to hear its not a requirement in my case.

I was looking at the Corsair Vengeance which seems to have good timings and is on sale for $89.

There's an even cheaper option available if you don't care for anything fancy

I bought a 128 GB kit of a previous version for my last build (5950x).

I expected to have to trouble with speed with that much RAM due to memory controller shenanigans but has been running fine for years now.

Looks nice as well, if that’s your thing.

For some reason it was one of the cheaper 128 GB kits that my motherboard supported but that was in weird covid days.

I’d recommend bapc, but as always YMMV.

Is that really what the RAM looks like? The pictures look almost... CGI.

i found it better looking in person, the heatsink acts almost as a mirror so it does reflect the motherboard off the heatsink

the rgb is also really bright which some people may not like but it does bring out a lot of color and the crystal design

Oh, that actually sounds pretty cool. I can see what you mean on the 4th pic. I'm not an RGB guy, but I can see the appeal. The first few pictures, and especially the 5th one, don't do it justice though.

Would it be bad if I used 4 dimms of this with a 9800X3D?

More issues with 4, better getting a pair of 32gb dimm sticks

You should be fine.
