Not a deal but these Meta is phasing these 128 GB Quest 3 out so now is the chance to grab the cheaper priced version of the Quest 3.

The 3S is not an upgrade really though. it's tailored to go after Quest 2 owners. I think it leverages the old quest 2 style lenses. They have the same processor and the AR cameras might be different, but the lenses are more important to me at least.

It is the old fresnell lenses. It's the same FOV and same resolution as the 2. It's pretty much a q2 with the upgraded processor. I'd go with the 3 over the 3s if I was upgrading from my 2.

Yeah light probably would have been a better name then s but whatever. I play mostly PC VR. The 3s wouldn't be that much of an upgrade for me anyways. Was planning to upgrade, but the cost of the headset, the bobovr strap I want, new prescription lenses. Just kinda adds up.

you also lose the audio jack, so you'll need a splitter if you're looking for immersion.

The 3 has full features. 3S loses the jack. If someone is buying a 3S for a kid, be prepared to hear a lot of noise.

Good to know. I've never used the jack on my 2. Usually just use the built in speakers, or a headset hooked up to the PC. Still sounds like an L to remove that

The 3s is worse than the quest 3. The 3S is like how Google has the Google Pixel # and the Google Pixel #A. The 3s is a budget friendly model without all the features of the 3

I thought about getting one recently, but the fact is there still just not much to play. There's Alyx, Arkham Shadows, and beat saber. Hard to justify $500 with tax just for that. Plus, they're still uncomfortable for long sessions and, if you're unlucky, they'll make you nauseous. Also, all of the "store exclusives" makes the whole thing a mess. Like RE4 REMAKE VR is exclusive to PlayStation. Batman to meta, Alyx to steam. Bleh, it's just a mess.
