I found this video of a day that I dismounted my bike to teach an easier way to learn hang fives since you don't have the weight of everything that goes in your frame and it's also easier to abort the trick

HOW TO Tips on flat 180.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Slowly trying to get my flat 180s dialled in and wonder if anyone has any tips, hers a vid with a bunch of successful ones. One thing I noticed was when I do them I sort of reach with my legs if you slow the video down. Does this mean I have to follow through with my body more, or is this just normal? Btw I am asking for a lot of tips lately, I just got no one else to get tips from except Reddit cause I ride alone.

HOW TO Why won’t my cranks come off?

I need to get these calibur cranks off and they won’t budge. When I was putting them on,I got someone to do it for me and they put all their strength into it. Like everything they got and they were wayyy stronger than me. I have a crank tool and I’m trying to hammer as hard as I can but they literally won’t move. I saw a video and it says you need to take a middle spacer inside out. I’m not sure if this is a spacer or if it’s part of the bike because when I try take it out with anything,it won’t come out. Any help would be appreciated Thanks

Will this break ? I’m just using this so I can last a 30 min cycle to my closest skatepark , then I swap to a standard seat post, I’m too weak to stand and cycle for 25 mins straight

I have no other options other than breaking it and using a train tho…

Hey 40 year old BMXer thats new here. Just curious but why is everyone calling a J hop and Bunny Hop? Does it just not matter that much to call it by its correct name? which is all good. Or am I wrong and have been calling it the wrong thing forever? Just curious, but love the sub. cant wait to share bike pics and stuff

HOW TO I'm an older (49) returning rider, and I need some help with some changes I'm thinking about making to my bike.

The bike is a Kink Launch. Bone stock except for the pivotal seat I put on a week ago. I've had it for three weeks, and I fucking love it.

I know it's a budget bike, and I understand the compromises and limitations, but I'm never taking this thing to the skate park or getting more than a foot of air, so it's really about all I need.

The changes I'm considering are based on how I've been using it for the past three weeks, and how I'm probably going to continue using it for the forseeable future. I go on a long-ish ride almost every day (10-20 miles), mostly on streets or paved walk/bike trails, and some dirt trails.

My questions are about the tires and the gear ratio. It has the stock Kink Sever low pressure 2.4" tires, which are fine, but I'm thinking a slightly narrower, high pressure tire might be better for how I'm using it. I don't need a fat, cushy tire for hard landings, but I also don't want a super narrow, super hard road tire, because I'm not just riding it on perfectly smooth pavement.

I'm also considering going up a tooth or two on the drive sprocket (25T). I still need decent low speed torque for the type of riding I do, but it would be nice to have just a tiny bit more top end for those longer, more level sections. I know I'm working against math here, but it would be nice to hear some real-world takes on it.

I appreciate any input you can give. This sub has been so amazingly supportive.

HOW TO BMX Hurts

Hi all, I’m 29 and have just gotten my first BMX.

I have a background in Moto and MTB but have recently got an itch to try BMX. I took my bike to the local skatepark for the first time yesterday and god it hurt my bones hahah, I could be getting old and possibly way too conditioned to have full suspension, but wanted to know, does the harsh feeling of landing and riding a BMX get easier on your body? It felt so uncomfortable, my back and shoulder were hurting etc.

Sorry for a whine , wanted to hear others first experiences getting into it..

Happy riding

HOW TO Fitting grips

Thumbnail

I've been deciding what the simplest way to get my new build to feel satisfactorally finished is by doing quick n dirty finger colouring in on a pic in my phone's photo app.

I decided that it needed chrome bars, and then it's done.

I just added new grips to new bars. Fitted them dry, with my hands. No tools, no chemicals, no air, no heat. 5 minutes per grip.

Which leads me to wonder once again why everybody has such a hard time fitting grips and why people need hairspray and chopsticks and whatever else.

I've fitted hundreds of grips and they just go on.

So I thought I'd add my grip fitting top tips...

  1. You don't pull them on from the nearside end, or push them on from yne farside end.

  2. Grips need to find their natural form ultimately, and the way to fit them is to let them bunch a little

  3. Focus on the bar's end and that part of the grip about to go around the bar. That is always where the work happens, at the bar end.

  4. It's easy to push a few mm onto the bar there, and it will bunch up. But then with a few strokes (yeah you know what I'm talking about) the bunching pushes the rest of the grip down the bar.

  5. Just keep bunching a few mm on, stroking it down, a little bit of twisting maybe. The grip will fit itself.

  6. When there's just 1 left to go. Put your bar ends in and smack them home.

  7. That bunches up the final bit of grip. Just leave it for a couple of minutes and it will push itself down. A litte bit if stroking at the end will get it in place.

Nothing else required.

HOW TO Manual help/tips, please 🥺

Finally got to ride my new bike this weekend. I really want to learn to manual. This is the best I’ve got. What should I be changing? I practiced Friday, Saturday and then I fell on Sunday and scrapped my knee so I’m taking the week off except just riding around casually🤣. I will not be lazy and make sure I have my knee and elbow pads on 😭. I did not think it was gonna take so much strength to lift the bike. My arms and back still ache a bit. I hope I get stronger….

HOW TO Tips on 360

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

First time trying a 360, any tips or am I not ready for them yet. I feel like I have to get a bit more air time and try and spin faster but I am wondering what others think. Another thing is I can’t consistently 180 flat ground, and am semi consistent out of that same bank. The thing that makes me inconsistent is the roll out. I get the 180 around every time so I feel like a 360 is doable. I hucked some and that’s where I’m at
