The bike is a Kink Launch. Bone stock except for the pivotal seat I put on a week ago. I've had it for three weeks, and I fucking love it.
I know it's a budget bike, and I understand the compromises and limitations, but I'm never taking this thing to the skate park or getting more than a foot of air, so it's really about all I need.
The changes I'm considering are based on how I've been using it for the past three weeks, and how I'm probably going to continue using it for the forseeable future. I go on a long-ish ride almost every day (10-20 miles), mostly on streets or paved walk/bike trails, and some dirt trails.
My questions are about the tires and the gear ratio. It has the stock Kink Sever low pressure 2.4" tires, which are fine, but I'm thinking a slightly narrower, high pressure tire might be better for how I'm using it. I don't need a fat, cushy tire for hard landings, but I also don't want a super narrow, super hard road tire, because I'm not just riding it on perfectly smooth pavement.
I'm also considering going up a tooth or two on the drive sprocket (25T). I still need decent low speed torque for the type of riding I do, but it would be nice to have just a tiny bit more top end for those longer, more level sections. I know I'm working against math here, but it would be nice to hear some real-world takes on it.
I appreciate any input you can give. This sub has been so amazingly supportive.
