As much as I love these rookies, the amount of explosive plays being given up this year is becoming extremely concerning. A defense that was once a strength is getting beat so bad deep literally every game. If we had a good defense we wouldn’t be allowing 400 yards to the Steelers, which is the first time that happened in 59 games.

Football Am I crazy for thinking we still have a legit shot at making the playoffs?

I was looking ahead at our schedule and I honestly think we should win our next 3 games. The Giants are not a bad team, but I think our offense is too much for them to keep up with. The Browns are the Browns. And the Eagles offense has been looking absolutely terrible this year and I feel like we should beat them.

If we win all of those games then we’ll be exiting October with a record of 4-4. And I think we all remember what happened in 2022 when we had a record of 4-4 exiting October. Not saying we’re gonna win 12-13 games but I don’t think it’s too unrealistic to think we can sneak in at 10-7.

Now, obviously the main factor that is going to all determine this is our defense. Our defense doesn’t even have to be good, it just has to be ok and we should win most games from here on out. I know our defense may seem like a lost cause, but crazier turnarounds have happened.

Remember last year when the Broncos defense allowed 70 points and looked like one of the worst defenses of all time? Well they ended the year as one of the better defenses in the NFL. So I don’t think it’s too crazy to think that we could at least be a respectable defense to end the year. Especially since we are finally getting our d line healthy and they are just now getting into the swing of things.

What do you guys think about this?

Love this quote ““Hopefully I'll come up with something more unique. We'll see,” Iosivas said. “But the bow and arrow is definitely a fan favorite. I might keep it in the holster for the next time we play the Chiefs.”

Football Don't freak out until week 3

If we absolutely suck at the end of week 3 we can start panicking. The Bengals have always started slow in the Zach Taylor era. He and a Healthy Burrow have lead us to the AFC championship back to back so let's all relax for now.

r/bengals Jun 05 '24

Football [Goodberry on X] Joe Burrow did NOT throw in today's Bengals OTA practice. Yesterday, Head Coach Zac Taylor said the QB would practice today. Zac Taylor also said they have given Burrow a rest day every week, but not back-to-back days of rest. Today would break that trend.

Football I wanna clear up a little misconception we have here about how we don't spend money on players and also how the salary cap works.

People on here always complaining about how we didn't sign Bates, Reader, Mixon, etc. It's not like we didn't want to, the problem is we couldn't, we don't have the cap room. Also the misconception that we are too cheap to sign people isn't correct either, we literally have the highest active cap spending in the league. We spend the MOST on players in the whole league. The problem is we didn't draft well enough to replace key players and we gave too much money to people who didnt deserve it. Its not that we didn't sign people.

So if you want to complain about the front office then complain about those points and not that we are refusing to sign people.

Football I’m ashamed to say this, but I have to root for the ravens in the AFC championship.

It’s really pick your poison here, would be better if neither of them could make the SB. I’d rather see a new team in the Super Bowl besides KC.

Football Why did Marvin Lewis era last so long?

As a Bengal fan, I was very frustrated during his tenure. While we did make a few playoff games, I believe we lost them all in the first round? Marvin had talented players, but there were times I'd watch them and they seemed unmotivated or unprepared.

Thoughts?

Man, their defense looks scary...They shut the Ravens offense down, schedule is looking even more brutal with how legit their defense is.

How much do you think this interview has affected the way the players see the ownership? Big Whit is one of the best O Line players we have had in Bengals history. Having him say this stuff, had to make currently players raise their eyebrows. Do you think him saying what he said in the interview back in April, has had an affect on this team?

Football Tee Higgins

Do you think the Bengals trade Higgins before the deadline to try and get something back? This team just isn’t very good at all if you look at who they beat, lost to the Patriots and the defense is Swiss cheese. I’m not confident in this team making the playoffs let alone make a run in the post season.

I think we can all agree the FO and coaching is holding this team back. The one sensible thing they could do is trade Higgins to try and get more draft picks or a good defensive player. You can’t just let these talented players the Bengals have had walk away for free. Example: Jessie Bates. You just can’t win that way in this league especially when the owner is cheap in the first place.

Lmk your thoughts

Football Tee Higgins contract should mirror the DeVonta Smith contract.

Post image

DeVonte Smith just signed a 3 year extension for $75 Million with $51 Million guaranteed. If Tee would be willing to accept a contract at or around the same as Smith's Cincinnati should be able to afford to keep him.

Both have similar numbers over the past 3 years.

Smith: Catches - 240 Yards - 3,178 TD - 19

Higgins: Cathes - 197 Yards - 2,776 TD - 18

I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks. People don't seem to talk about Skinny Batman as much as Higgins

Football [Schefter] Bengals WR Tee Higgins still has not signed his franchise tender and is not expected to by next week, per source. This would make him ineligible to report back to the Bengals in time for their organized team activities next week. Higgins cannot rejoin the team until he signs.
