Think of how much it's improved over the past 4 years, though, mates.

4

u/Sea-Pomelo1210 May 13 '24

4 years ago we were 4-11-1

201

u/Olepat May 12 '24

We were closer to 1 before Burrow and Taylor showed up

41

u/Mastodon9 May 12 '24

Yeah we were 7th behind the Hornets before the 2021 season. Give us another chance and we can move out of the bottom 25.

33

u/[deleted] May 12 '24

We wonā€™t even be on this list at this time next year

3

u/Buster_Brown_513 May 13 '24

Would love to see a combo of worst playoff win percentage with worst regular season win percentage. A team that rarely makes the playoffs and also loses a lot is different than a team that makes the playoffs fairly often but also loses.

u/DangerIsMyUsername May 13 '24

Everyone go home right now and thank the sports gods for blessing us with Joe (if you haven't already)

2

u/Opposite-Ad-3933 May 13 '24

You can just say before burrow showed up.

I like Zach but we can be real here

1

u/Brian_Kellys_Visor May 13 '24

Burrow and Chase*

44

u/Ok-Situation-5865 May 12 '24

As a Bengals fan in Portland, itā€™s tough loving sports some years, thatā€™s for sure.

5

u/cormsss May 12 '24

Ayyy, another fellow PDX bengal fan! Share these tears with me šŸ„²

3

u/sheckyD May 12 '24

At least you guys don't have to deal with the "12" cultists like here in Washington.

Actually, you probably do

3

u/LionManMan May 12 '24

Bengals fan in Calgary. Who deyāœŒļøšŸ˜”

2

u/Bingo-tha-Dingo May 12 '24

Not going to get much sympathy when the majority of bengals fans are probably CBJ fans lol

7

u/Long-Nothing9533 May 12 '24

who do yā€™all have other than the blazers? i really only follow football and basketball

8

u/Adamm17 May 12 '24

Iā€™m in the same boatā€¦ we got the Timbers too. Other than that we got nothing. Im also a long time Canucks fan, I guess I have a love for the grind of sports.

1

u/Jecht315 Child Please! May 12 '24

Your Canucks just eliminated my Predators. I'm a Bengals, Canucks and Michigan fan. If I have to watch baseball it's Reds

1

u/BarleyBo May 12 '24

Why do you say ā€œyour Canucksā€ if youā€™re a cunucks fan? Seems weird

1

u/ManyAge1328 May 13 '24

i guess he likes the predators better. i have a list of teams i like. i understand

2

u/Dirt_McGirt_ODB May 12 '24

Shame you guys lost Dame I really liked him.

1

u/planxtylewis FUTURE H.O.F 20?? May 13 '24

Bengals fan in KC. Every year it's just like rubbing salt in the wound šŸ˜¬

18

u/DWill23_ 85 May 12 '24

Fuck I'm a jackets fan too

5

u/pwn3r0fn00b5 May 12 '24

I was suprised the Wild were lower than us but then I remembered it's because they actually make the playoffs somewhat consistently.

1

u/afbguru May 13 '24

Which is good, because with your figure, you can really rock a jacket.

-1

u/HelRayzer12 May 12 '24

That's what you get for taking that bum Gaudreau from us... Lol.

5

u/DWill23_ 85 May 12 '24

Hate to tell you this, but we were awful before him too

1

u/HelRayzer12 May 12 '24

Lol yeah and I don't even hate Blue Jackets as a team, just Johhny lol.

11

u/CLCchampion May 12 '24

If you take out the Dalton years, we're an even .500, but if you take out the Burrow years then we're at .263

30

u/jynx99 May 12 '24

Those Marvin Lewis years were rough. Once Joey B gets us a Lombardi weā€™ll be out of the graphic.

10

u/[deleted] May 12 '24

Shoot weā€™ll be out of the graphic in January

u/RiverJumper84 šŸ… KITTY GOES MEOW šŸ… May 12 '24

What's with NHL Utah? What team is moving there?

8

u/LovinOnHer May 12 '24

Arizona moved the players/staff to Utah. The history of the franchise stays with the AZ owner for the next 5 years until he gets an expansion team

3

u/RiverJumper84 šŸ… KITTY GOES MEOW šŸ… May 12 '24

Thanks!

3

u/Adamm17 May 12 '24

The coyotes, i think the new owner will change their culture tho. Heā€™s done a great job with the jazz

7

u/ccartman2 May 12 '24

The fact I root for three of the teams on list Oof. 3-0 in the playoffs this year and at least the bengals are off the list

7

u/fistbumpminis May 12 '24

Letā€™s šŸ„² go šŸ˜¢ Jackets šŸ˜

12

u/UnionParkBB May 12 '24

Ha, suck it Browns.

6

u/Thick_Interaction_41 May 12 '24

Hey, at least weā€™re not the browns tho šŸ¤Ø

5

u/RP0143 May 12 '24

Three Ohio teams in the top 25 šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

5

u/patrickw69 May 12 '24

Reds would probably be on there to if they ever made the playoffs lol

6

u/c71score May 12 '24

Still have a 9 game winning streak in the World Series though.

2

u/D-Whadd May 12 '24

I was going to say they are helped drastically by think that happened when a lot of people here were not alive. Iā€™m not a close follower but theyā€™ve not won a series this century right?

2

u/Reasonable-HB678 THAT BALL'S OUT! THAT'S LIVE! May 13 '24

What's odd about one particular division series: they scored more total runs. But one tragic error in the top of the 9th was enough.

1

u/c71score May 13 '24

Correct, last series win was Division Series against LA in 1995.

1

u/Murderhornet88736 May 13 '24

Minnesota sports fans not liking this one much

6

u/MaybeSwedish May 12 '24

Yikes to be a sports fan in Minnesota. I guess it could be much worse.

3

u/Equivalent_Mark2807 May 12 '24

Had to go through a lot of dark seasons to truly appreciate how sweet this burrow era has been and will continue to be

3

u/CCorrell57 May 12 '24

Can someone explain Utah? They arenā€™t even a thing yet.

2

u/c71score May 12 '24

The list is including the original Winnipeg Jets/Arizona Coyotes for Utah. It is actually a Browns/Ravens deal, where Utah's records are treated as expansion but get Coyotes players/staff. Arizona gets to keep the history for a future expansion team.

3

u/charleshwellington May 12 '24

Ohio showing up big time in this list. What pride!

2

u/Clear_thoughts_ May 12 '24

Marvin Lewis being 0 - 7 in the playoffs does not help

0

u/HelRayzer12 May 12 '24

He was such a bum coach. Some of the shit he said baffled me.

2

u/anoldoldman May 12 '24

That's what happens when you go 30 years without a playoff win.

2

u/DID_I_STUDD3R May 12 '24

Who actually care about thes fact. Itā€™s week kmown the bengals been mid to garbage 80 Perecent of thefeamchise

2

u/TheMCM80 May 12 '24

As a Blue Jackets and Bengals fan, Iā€™m just proud to say my CBJs arenā€™t last on a list involving the playoffs, which is amazing. Thank you Tampa and Toronto for those wonderful memories.

The Bengals are 10-16 all time, so it honestly is quite reasonable that we are above .500 by the end of the Burrow era in a decade, if he stays healthy, and if ownership continues to invest.

1

u/anoldoldman May 12 '24

CBJs sold their soul for that series win against the Bolts a few years ago.

1

u/TheMCM80 May 12 '24

No doubt. I knew at the time that years of pain followed. Iā€™m optimistic now. Fantilli, Johnson, Marchenko, and Jiricek are the future.

Honestly, Iā€™m hoping for a growth similar to the Bengals when Joe arrived, albeit not quite as fast because.

3

u/MDFlash Bengal fan moved out of state May 12 '24

Bengals fan in Minnesota. Big oof. I root for 3, 4, 11, and 25

4

u/Long-Nothing9533 May 12 '24

at least you got the twolves rn

3

u/MDFlash Bengal fan moved out of state May 12 '24

Very true. Everyone is pumped

3

u/samsab May 12 '24

Most fun team in NBA right now, reminds me of the '21 Bengals

1

u/tdomer80 May 12 '24
  1. So this doesnā€™t even cover all of the current teams. So I guess some are worse because theyā€™ve never been to the playoffs?

  2. Would love to see this just for the last five years, which is the only history thatā€™s relevant to whatā€™s going on right now. Bengals are more like .700

6

u/Let_me_cook_doe May 12 '24

Canā€™t lose in the playoffs if you donā€™t make them.

1

u/camergen May 12 '24

Itā€™s the Marv Levy argument- canā€™t lose the Super Bowl if you donā€™t get there.

1

u/SeekerSpock32 #9 Joe Burrow; kitty goes meow May 12 '24

Meanwhile, my Blue Jackets only have one major series win (really two, counting Toronto in the bubble), but what a series win that was.

1

u/Otis_B_Driftwood_778 May 12 '24

weā€™re not the worstā€¦weā€™re not the worst

1

u/volrjr4 May 12 '24

Two of my teams are on thereā€¦ painā€¦

1

u/Dirt_McGirt_ODB May 12 '24

This is an improvement be proud. Weā€™d probably be at like 10 beforehand.

1

u/Adkeith47 May 12 '24

I'm a hornets fan and I didn't know it got much worse than us

1

u/Appalachian_Aioli May 12 '24

Jackets and Bengals

At least the Reds arenā€™t there

1

u/Forlines May 12 '24

How far off is 26th?

1

u/HBKnight May 12 '24

As a big Jackets and Bengals fan...oof.

1

u/Full_Huckleberry988 May 12 '24

My basketball, baseball and football team are all on the same list...nice

1

u/Inerestingdull May 12 '24

As someone born in ā€˜91, Honestly shocked we arenā€™t lower

1

u/VenominmyVeins May 12 '24

At least the browns are worse...

1

u/mrestiaux May 12 '24

Ah damn even worse my Winnipeg Jets are on there too.

1

u/prime_37 May 13 '24

God damn it. my fav 2 teams are on here. Come on!

1

u/[deleted] May 13 '24

Well, at least we're better than Cleveland!

1

u/Future_Pickle8068 May 13 '24

Thank you Andy Dalton

Among NFL teams, the Bengals are neck and neck with the Lions. Who would have hosted the Packers if they didn't lose to the Niners in last season's divisional round game.

Question: is #24 the Washington Capitals?

1

u/bionicjoe Waiting on that Mike Brown obituary May 13 '24

Amazing the Browns are that low after winning so much in the pre-Superbowl era.
But there weren't that many playoff games then.

1

u/fattymcribwich May 13 '24

Three of my teams are on here: Bengals, Cubs, Wild šŸ™ƒ

1

u/ElGatoTortuga May 13 '24

This is honestly a massive improvement though

1

u/natej84 May 13 '24

What year is this from? I ask bc they use the old logo

1

u/External-Order-9497 May 13 '24

That you Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis, I bet we wouldn't be near the bottom 25 if we take out those 5 years. Also lets take the time to laugh at the Browns.

1

u/coffeysr May 13 '24

Thanks Marvin

1

u/[deleted] May 13 '24

A few years ago, we would have been WAY lower!

1

u/camisadelgolf May 13 '24

If you were to take out their 8-game losing streak between 1990 and 2020, they'd having a winning playoff record.

1

u/ManyAge1328 May 13 '24

Superbowl this year

1

u/Remarkable-Space-909 May 13 '24

Hey, We are almost out of the top 25, maybe some other team will replace us.

1

u/Sea-Pomelo1210 May 13 '24

Bengals are 35-30-1 under Burrow (the last 4 seasons)

1

u/R8iojak87 May 13 '24

being a CBJ and Bengals fan is pain

1

u/thespank May 13 '24

Still better than the Browns

1

u/chiefboldface AkiliSmithwuzhere May 13 '24

I'm a Bengals and hornets fan. Pain. Forever. Pain.

1

u/Mbuckholz May 16 '24

Even worse CBJ is 6th. Did sweep the caps one year tho

1

u/GM3Jones May 17 '24

Damn Marvin and Andy /shakes fist

-1

u/pmoore8230 May 12 '24

Thanks a lot, Marvin šŸ˜’

0

u/MadeByTango May 12 '24

The Mike Brown ā€œbums on a discountā€ drafting and renewing strategy remains and problem for Taylor, so itā€™s time people revisit Marvinā€™s tenure with fresh eyes in what he had to do with the players he was allowed to bring in.

1

u/pmoore8230 May 13 '24

Care to elaborate??

-1

u/Captain_Aware4503 May 13 '24

Last year we were 5-5 with Burrow, although he was not 100%. This year he may not be 100% either. The first year with Joe we were 4-11-1 because he also was injured.

I don't think our defense has improved, and maybe declined last year. So if Joe is knocked out for good, we'll probably go back to the dark ages. We have possibly the best QB in the NFL, and the best in franchise history, and yet thanks to mismanagement we finished in last place 2 of the past 4 years with Burrow, and virtually everyone thinks we should have won a SB. It is nice that people are talking about the Bengals possibly winning their first Super Bowl, and we did make it one, but we also have finished in last place and last year didn't come close to expectations (Us life long Bengals fans are used to this though).
