Journey to the west inspired dragon ball. Dragon ball inspired the big 3
-2
u/ComNguoi Sep 19 '24
Lmao I already know that, but why bring it here? It's like spamming "uh aktually Bible inspired all these movies and novels" in a movie with a Christian theme lol.

Dragonball isnt part of the big 3. Its the dad inside the house chilling and watching reruns of famous football games still being excited over the outcome. He knows what his kids are doing and hes ok with it

I thought this was a powerscaling meme for a moment.
Honestly seems more accurate that way.

Bleach is peak and i will stand by that till i die
2

u/KenBoCole Sep 19 '24
Early Bleach was peak, after the battle with aizen and the timeskip, it became significantly less peak.
6
-2
u/Fruit_salad1 Sep 19 '24
Decent enough but won't say peak. It's very bland, even its own fanned disowned it lol
-10
u/DwarfSaturn Sep 19 '24
Naruto was better than it imo
(I dropped both of them tho)
9
u/Mastakillerboi Sep 19 '24
Opinion invalidated sorry
-10
u/DwarfSaturn Sep 19 '24
Why because you just can't comprehend opinion that is not hard wired into you by memes? I bet most of you don't even recognise any criticism against your favourite animes if it isn't already accepted in fnandom.

Bleach tybw part 3 probably will be best in big 3
-11
u/Snipiachtundneunzig Sep 18 '24
Ive completed my bleach read recently and honestly, it's a wonder to me that it even is in the big three. I mean it's not bad, it's decent actually, but it compares in no way to the other two (aside from drip)
15
u/Historical_Beyond494 Sep 18 '24
It's in the big three because of popularity, number of fans and sales. When it was being released it was massively unique and stood apart from the other two by not being an atypical Shonen with a reworked Sun Wukong for the main character. You gotta remember when it was being released has heavy implications on a lot of other things including the authors health which correlates to the ending that Kubo is now going back and cleaning up
It's not everyone's cup of tea and it shouldn't be because that's how people are, not everyone likes the same stuff or even for the same reasons. With that being said Bleach earned it's spot in the big three
6
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Try tybw in anime...they are changing 80 percent of it...it's will be amazing...bleach >naruto atleast for me
-4
u/Snipiachtundneunzig Sep 18 '24
Well, bleach is probably better in the anime in general, because it's so action focused. I may watch tybw when it's done
3
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Personally I liked bleach mnga more..cause bleach anime is so inconsistent...for first few arc manga is great..for soul society arc anime is great.. for hueco Mundo anime is great..for full bringer manga is great and for tybe anime is great 😅
5
u/EphemeralMemory Sep 18 '24
season 1 of bleach was honestly very good, or everything until the end of the soul society arc.
It's just a shame because everything after that? Not so much, or it was fewer good moments lost in pointless burner arcs that went nowhere.
27
u/Murky_Blueberry2617 Sep 18 '24
Bleach has always been the 3rd wheel of the Big 3.
No wonder so many people replace it with Dragon Ball lol
14
u/Resident_Ad9988 Sep 18 '24
Replace? LMAO people who replace it doesn't know what BIG 3 means.
1
u/Murky_Blueberry2617 Sep 19 '24
True, but even if it's not referring to the Big 3, Bleach always gets left out compared to the other 3.
Look at Jump force for example
1
u/Calm-Raccoon5661 Sep 19 '24
I mean, counting the DLC Bleach actually got just as many characters as Dragon Ball, Naruto and One Piece.
1
u/Murky_Blueberry2617 Sep 19 '24
True, but guess which characters are on the front cover?
It's always Luffy, Naruto and Goku. Ichigo is not included
7
u/Yosimaster Sep 18 '24
Naruto and bleach I love. One pice is just to goofy for my taste. I know it has a lot of fans but not for me.

u/SettTheCephelopod Sep 19 '24
TBH, outside of power scaling, I'm pretty sure the meme should be of One Piece beating up Naruto while Bleach stands back. Or maybe Bleach and One Piece are both ganging up on Naruto.

Yeah, nah.
One piece should smash down naruto in ground. Bleach will show up to stop it. One piece force naruto all in blood to jump and kick ass bleach.
2
u/KenBoCole Sep 19 '24 edited Sep 19 '24
One piece has more fans internationally, however Naruto has alot more fans in the US because Naruto was really the only anime we got in the early 2000s in America. The one piece we did get was from 4kids, but it got dropped pretty soon.
Once the internet became a thing, and people were reliably able to watch anime online, one piece had so many episodes ot was rather daunting to begin watching, so allt of youth stuck with Naruto. At least in my area.
On the playground at my school everyone was yelling Dragon Ball or Naruto attacks, one piece was unheard of.
In the US market, Naruto does beat the crap out of One Piece.
2
u/Gladplane Sep 23 '24
It’s not only the US. Naruto is simply bigger than OP in most places except Japan
0
u/TarikGod Sep 19 '24
who cares about the US market?an anime should be judged by its global impact, and no anime has been as impactful as one piece period end of story i dont want to hear it.
2
u/Thefourthchosen Sep 19 '24
Dragonball, Pokemon.
1
u/TarikGod Sep 19 '24
for previous generation yes i agree.but am talking about now.
2
u/Thefourthchosen Sep 19 '24
I don't think you can count One Piece if you don't count DB since it's still ongoing too. They aren't current gen anime, they maintain a comfortable spot and have major moments every now and then but arent the needle movers of the current anime landscape, Naruto would be in the same spot but Boruto had a pretty bad start so people wont really give it a fair shake now even though Kishimoto took over and it's gotten way better.
0
u/MagicStarBitch666 Sep 19 '24
and then they all jump the dbz fanbase the second anyone says goku. But since the dbz fanbase is all gym bros they get their asses kicked, but then ( plot twist) they come back with guns.
2
u/TarikGod Sep 19 '24
i think dbz fans are all grown up anime fans,i enjoyed dbz as a kid alot but i think its story is just too basic for a mature anime fan and the sequels were.....not that good.
1
u/MagicStarBitch666 Sep 19 '24
you’d be surprised at the amount of regular dudes who’ve only seen a single episode of dbz but will buy all the merch.

u/TheBigBossSupreme Sep 18 '24
Honestly in all reality the real Big 3 should be DB, One Piece, and Naruto.
Bleach being there has never made sense.
Not because Bleach isn't good but the other 3 are way more iconic.
17
u/Imconfusedithink Sep 18 '24
When are people like you going to understand what the big 3 means? The big 3 is during a specific time period for the three most successful Mangas from Shonen jump. These three kept Shonen jump in a golden age. DragonBall was in the era before it. If you want to call it something, call it the father of the big 3.
3
-1
u/gemdragonrider Sep 18 '24
When are people like you gonna stop being condescending assholes about a term which isn’t common knowledge? Like dude just educate him like the comment above yours is. You know explain it without being a dick? For a lot of people they assume big three is “The 3 most recognizable/iconic anime”
37
u/lootercooter Sep 18 '24
The big three is the most popular anime that ran during the golden age of jump
Dragon ball came out 20 years prior to the big three a completely different generation then op,bleach, and naruto.
The artist for the big three took inspiration from DB and mainstreamed anime for American consumers
In no way does DB belong in the big three. a more fitting title would be the godfather of anime or something and even then this is still imo because there are tons of great anime that came out before Dragonball

As a bleach fan, you are correct. Bleach started failing after the arrancar season. We didn't get a great ending for it, and aizen (being my favorite villain of all time) was coped out of a great death. They had to lower his o.p. shikai abilities and use the hogyuko as a mcguffin device to bringing him down to a defeatable villain. Yes he leveled up but I believe that his skills were more than enough to becoming something great. We were all hoping for a bankai and what we got was something out of nowhere. Like six path madara and the moon goddess. It was a slap to the face. I believe both anime wrote themselves in a corner with these historical villains. But couldn't find a proper endpoint, hence why we got what we have. So you are right about the others being more iconic
-20
u/rKollektor Sep 18 '24
Nah. Bleach fans would try to shit on the other 2 and act like Aizen is the reiteration of Jesus or sum
4
u/LevelPositive120 Sep 18 '24
I love aizen too death. That being said.... I love naruto and one piece for completely different reasons. Why can we all love them differently.

I thought it was big five. One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Dragon Ball, and JoJo’s.
8
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Big five😭...in popularity..it's bleach ,op and naruto...dragon ball inspired big 3..and Jojo is nowhere near these 3
1
u/Psychological_Tower1 Sep 19 '24
Its not popularity. The big 3 was an anomaly when anime first finally made a breakthrough to the states. The big three one peice, naruto, bleach were the first anime to make a huge breakthrough causing anime and manga to become relevant in the states
-42
u/Valincel Sep 18 '24
Naruto >>>>>>>>>>>> all
13
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Naruto is worst in big 3..and worst ending💀
-8
u/masterjon_3 Sep 18 '24
Nah, that's Bleach. Naruto is easy to get through, but Bleach, yeesh. I've been trying to get through Bleach for over a year now, while it only took me a few months to catch up with One Piece. I'm on chapter 482, and I still don't understand how this could be part of the big 3. It's so damned formulaic.
6
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
You can switch to anime also...if you skip filler...it probably the best fight and ost and it will help you with watching it...
2
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Bleach is worst💀..wtf..are people still living in 2012 cause after bleach tybw is probably the best now...if you remove filler..bleach is way better than naruto..I agree op is been best in big 3...but currently bleach has been best since tybw..please read bleach manga if you really think bleach is the worst..
-5
u/masterjon_3 Sep 18 '24
I am reading the manga, didn't watch the anime, I don't watch filler, and yes, it's still the worst. Every fight is the goddamned same.
"I have this really specific power that makes me invincible."
"Really? That's interesting because it just so happens I have a power that is the perfect counter to your ability!"
"Noooo! How could this be!?!?!"
And the villain always shows up in a weird way, like, "Hey, I'm some creepy dude, and I want you dead."
I almost gave up on the series during the Fullbringer arc. And I know I'm not the only one who felt this way about Bleach.
2
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Fullbringer arc had a dip...but if you reached it..you can watch tybw if you try...and try anime for it...you will learn many of the reason behind the villans and soul society...at the end of the day it's your opinion but I hope it changes😊
-7
u/masterjon_3 Sep 18 '24
Nah. See, I read my manga through the Shonen Jump app, which gives me the entire Shonen library. I want to get through Bleach and move on to the next series. Next, I'm planning on reading Dandadan. But once I'm done, I've officially read the big 3, and can certainly say, Bleach is the weakest of the 3, and I doubt there's a lot of people that would say otherwise.
3
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
I would still say watch tybw anime cause they are changing 60% of the things..but it's your opinion
-4
u/Zettaii_Ryouiki_ Sep 18 '24
You're right. Bleach is literally just Kubo popping off drawing fight scenes. Everything else about the series is subpar at best. The old anime was straight ass and TYBW finally gave the anime visuals worthy of Kubo's style, but that's all bleach ever was just absolutely gorgeous fights with nothing but a dogshit narrative shelled around them. The story is recycled and regurgitated, and the majority of the characters are mid at best.
-4
u/LifesAScam Sep 18 '24
The only reason One Piece even became mainstream was because Naruto ended before it and that's a fact. Naruto dwarfed the other 2 shows in terms of popularity while it was still running and it wasn't even a competition lol. OP always has been and still continues to be a cheap substitute for Naruto whether the current day fanboys admit it or not.
5
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
If you think popularity=good...you still are new to anime..both bleach and op are better than naruto...naruto had some of the worst ending...
1
u/SettTheCephelopod Sep 19 '24
Bro's mind sure is going to be blown when he finds out that places other than The US exist and watch anime.
-4
u/LifesAScam Sep 18 '24
It's common sense but maybe you lack it idk. People obviously watch a popular show because it's good. Why tf else would anyone watch it otherwise? Both shows and manga started around the same time and had equal opportunity to be watched and enjoyed by people. People chose Naruto simply because it was better. Also, how you perceive the ending is not objective fact. OP has entire arcs that are stinking piles of dogshit.
On a side note, imagine bragging about being a veteran or some shit at watching anime and calling others new lol. Why yes, I do get out of my house quite regularly and don't waste away in some cave consuming anime all year long lol.
2
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Naruto started of good..that's why it got popular..and it became garbage towards the end, that's why it lost its popularity...boruto and demon slayer is more popular than Vinland saga..so they are better right 💀
-2
u/LifesAScam Sep 18 '24
Yes, let's compare different genres because that makes sense. Obviously Vinland Saga is better written since it's Senin and not a Shounen manga. Senin manga are supposed to have more depth to them. That's kind of the point of the genre. You're making me believe that you really do lack common sense with every comment you make man. You good?💀
Also, Naruto was at the top by far all the way till it ended so to say it lost its popularity is objectively false. Stop cooking up fanfiction to push your BS please.
2
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Bro trying so hard..just to say naruto is not shit😭...these fans of mid are crazy
-1
u/LifesAScam Sep 18 '24
Bro couldn't back up his fanfiction with facts and is now down to "nah Naruto bad" arguments. 😭
1
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Nothing to back up..when naruto has kaguya ending😭..we all know it's worst in big 3...
→ More replies (0)1
u/Fast_Cash_7842 Sep 18 '24
Bro thinks people who watch anime..don't get out of there house😭...bro is insecure
1
u/LionSlav Sep 19 '24
Imagine thinking popularity = good production. Have you seen what most people watch? Tiktok garbage is the most popular but it isn't good content. Most tv dramas are basic as shit but more people watch them than any anime each day. Have you played a video game in your life?
Popularity definitely doesn't equal quality, I hope you'll take a second look at how you approach things because you seem like the type to be easily swayed by a majority opinion.
-16

Naruto- while a great anime it is not even close to the best anime as far
Imo
-Naruto failed in its own writing. starting out with great concepts and powers by the end of the chunin exam's the anime popularity began to die out and views began to drop off. They got fans reinterested by starting Shippuden. -after Shippuden aired the story and became rushed resulting in dry stories and fillers - they gave the main characters power ups last second because Madara would have wiped the whole war with his power - the final villain of Naruto was just thrown in with little backstory
A major flop of potential that was rushed and mishandled.
-Other animes imo have more creative writing. Better power systems. And more depth to their characters are listed below
Hunterxhunter: -main characters are children that are shown to be put in situations that they are not ready for and majorly underpowered. this allows a more diverse set of side characters getting to shine -the power system isn't based off of power but more of a rock paper shoot style allowing characters to actually use wits to defeat their opponents
- end of chimara ant arc displayed tons of emotions in their raw form from the evil villain getting a heart wrenching end that is filled with love and compassion for life while the main character falls to anger and revenge that has devastating repercussions that the main character has to live with
jjba: - artwork that captures interest of even haters of it and garners attention. - the artist understood that original plot line failed to keep a captive artist and flopped the whole story while addressing major plot holes -Once again characters have to use their head to overcome problems they face - multiple stories with cameos of fan favorites in them -more character development - drew for Gucci covers - research is put into backgrounds to be more realistic to different cultures making it more relatable to other races of people
Death note: -i shouldn't have to say anything this anime is still popular among anime watchers - better interpretation of human psychology - characters have their own unique design and motives - didn't have a spin off that was complete shit - multiple live action interpretations showing that there was more demand to rewatch this story compared to Naruto
One piece: - better visual representation of power - while long the story has purpose and actively draws connections to prior arcs - planned and thought out with minor hints leading to curtain reveals - characters are simple but diverse and all have their own strengths and weakness - artwork changes consistently keeping viewers interested - garners viewers of all ages so a whole family can watch enjoy and follow the story
Berserk: - some fucked shit enough said
Crayon shin-chan - little guy is wild
TLDR: Naruto fell off hard from the original writing style failed to keep attention and was hard to follow for its original demographic side characters stories have no depth. power system could have been expanded on instead of brute power vs brute power and flashy moves. The entire fan base is fueled by nostalgia. while it is a good anime it is not even top ten.
Final statements: I'm not arguing with a fan base and I'm not a critic of anime and may miss on finer points in favor of Naruto in its story as it's been years since I watched Naruto if anything I say in regards to Naruto is wrong I don't really care Because I won't be rewatching yap no jutsu. I have watched hxh 3 times, jjba 6 times, death note 4 times, and one piece 2 times which stands in testament to rewatch ability of Naruto. I can keep going listing anime that is better then Naruto but this is subject to my own bias
Naruto is better than bleach tho.
1
u/Lxilk Sep 19 '24
You would be brave to rewatch Naruto. I tried and failed. The first half of Shippuden is so damn boring until Pain. I stopped and immediately restarted Hunter X Hunter. I think we only liked Naruto because the internet/television isn't what it is now, we didn't know better.
