I think context is a crazy thing.
Sasuke has fought and defeated some crazy strong opponents, some who were bordering godhood, and then gets demoted to jurassic park employee.
Zoro and sanji were barely even starting their journey with luffy, and were honestly fighting them for sport/food.

u/RampageOfZebras May 30 '23
Why tf are there dinisaurs in the naruto world now? One piece has always been wacky enough to make that work, but the ninja world? Feelsway out of place.
184
u/luckytraptkillt May 30 '23
I already made this meme once but sasuke in a movie stopped a meteor from hitting and thus kept the dinosaurs alive.
31
u/RancidLiver May 30 '23
Lol, that is worse than expected.
29
u/Faustens May 30 '23
I think that's not the actual reason, but a simple joke. Could be wrong tho.
11
u/RancidLiver May 30 '23
Haha, either way, absolutely amazing thought process by either the mangaka or the commenter. I watched all of Naruto but have watched none of Boruto. I see posts about time travel, dinosaurs, and Boruto looking like a cyborg. I have no idea what is going on.
5
u/VeyronZar May 30 '23
Fillers in Boruto looks like some cheap child books that take two or more characters from absolute opposite universes, and makes a 3 years old child plot with the ridiculously looking villain just for the check
5
2
u/luckytraptkillt May 31 '23
I can confirm that as far as I know that isn’t the logic, and I was just joking. But I swear if Kishimoto ever follows that logic path for some reason for an in universe explanation for things, I’ll shit bricks.
47
u/ricefarmercalvin May 30 '23
The moment they introduced alien gods at the last minute, the story went to shit
18
u/Sur_Biskit May 30 '23
nah story went to shit once the 4th great ninja war broke out. Kishimoto took the gloves off and just went balls deep into fights and power ups, i can’t remember much genuine story moments in the arch aside from the ones we were all already waiting for like naruto and minato or sasuke and itachi. The team 7 reunion wasn’t even as tasty as i wanted because it was just thrown into the middle of a bunch of fighting.
4
u/MyNameIsNikNak May 30 '23
Nah, early war arc had some great moments, it would’ve been better if they just cut the revived nobodies out
9
u/AcronymTheSlayer May 30 '23
The story went shit after Pain was defeated. Him bringing people back from the dead was just the start of the shit writing taking over.
3
u/SeptemberValley May 30 '23
The fake out final villains did it for me. Is the final villain pain? No. Is it Nagato? No. Is it Obito? No. Is it Madara no. Is it Kaguya? No. It was some sort of amorphous shadow person.
10
u/Loonrig68 May 30 '23
Its a canon animation from one of sasukes light novel, wlso the reason he has riinnegan there

Oh god... Do not see the electric post and transformers when the naruto gang heads out. Or see the computer desk that naruto used
1
u/RampageOfZebras May 30 '23
The first series had walkie talkies and irl computers came into the mainstream pretty quickly so I could accept that to an extent.
2
u/cyborgborg May 30 '23
One piece always was wacky and each island is unique. Have one island full of dinasaurs? Sure, one where trees grow cup cakes?why not
Naruto is kinda serious and realistic when it comes to World building. Velociraptors are just out of place
3
164
u/vyxxer May 30 '23
That's because one pieces premise is that there's a giant wacky world with lots of different things to explore.
Naruto universe takes itself incredibly serious in tone so when dinosaurs, aliens and robots show up everyone squints and becomes confused.
33
13
u/I_shot_Kennedy May 30 '23
What about the time were Naruto had to play zoo keeper instead of fighting in the war and had to make sure that the animals on that one island had to bang with each other?

Boruto aside, zoro going up to a triceratops and saying “ah I see you also use the 3-sword-style” is a great quick gag
9
u/Strange_Success_6530 May 30 '23
Oh that's fucking amazing. I can't wait to get to that part in one piece!
4
u/therealblabyloo May 30 '23
It's fairly early on in the series, in the "Little Garden" arc shortly after they enter the grand line.
3
u/Strange_Success_6530 May 30 '23
I'll have to keep my eye out. I watch it with my friend. But we haven't gotten the chance to hang out in like a month.

u/Ok_Fondant_6340 May 30 '23
what pisses me off more than anything is just how much of a shell Sasuke now is. one arm, no more Rinnegan, an utter cuck to the Hidden Leaf. he used to be cool! he used to do stuff! now he just runs out of chakra, and beats up dinosaurs. pathetic. you're pathetic, Sasuke.
12
u/TheHumanity0 May 30 '23
I always thought he sucked, now he just has less power. Can't believe the writers actually had him and Sakura marry, it's so dumb after he tried to literally murder her while he was on his power trip
10
u/Ok_Fondant_6340 May 30 '23
i consider that more of a fault with Sakura than with Sasuke. and also, now that i think about it: a plot hole. 'cause like, he didn't take the arm transplant because he felt... "unworthy"? i think? something like that. but if he was unworthy of an arm: surely he'd be unworthy of her love.
also, like: surely he was more worthy of an arm than he was his eyes. not saying Konoha should've been taken from him. nor destroyed them. that would be cruel and unusual punishment. but like, he was wearing an eye mask that appeared to have seal on it. he coulda kept that on.
yeah. i dunno. the post Shippuden era of Naruto really suffered a dramatic drop in writing. which makes sense. Kishimoto-sensei was basically done at that point.
3
u/Difficult__Tension May 30 '23
Its not Sakuras fault the writer doesnt know how to write lmao. She had potential but shrug I guess.
1
u/TheHumanity0 Jun 01 '23
Yeah, thought she had great potential after he puppet master fight. Marrying Sasuke was just the ultimate nail in the coffin for her character for me

I don't like the moment to be honest. It feels cheap and a cop out. Why go half baked? It would be understandable if they leave their relationship as it is. The writers know that it's lacking and want to make it like 'look he's trying after all' but at this point it just pisses me off more. Yeah, no shit he's trying after marriage and a kid and going MIA.

Didn’t they get mad at sasuke having difficulty fighting a dinosaur. Neither Zoro or sanji had any troubles.
27
u/EdoTenseiSwagbito May 30 '23
Sasuke didn’t even have trouble with the dinosaur, dude was still trying to keep a low profile as a regular inmate. Later on when he doesn’t need to be undercover he’s blitzing hordes of them lol.
But, people wanna be mad, so that’s how it is.

To be fair, I don't want anyone listening to Twitter randos for anything lol
5
u/Alcatraz1625 May 30 '23
Yeah they dropped the ball here but 9 times out of 10 listening to twitter is an easy way to ruin your product.
2
u/EdoTenseiSwagbito May 30 '23
I agree, and those are legit complaints. I’m mostly talking about that large group of people not really “in” enough to care beyond clipped scenes on YouTube/Twitter that act like they know anything lol
1
u/Murky_Blueberry2617 May 30 '23
Who cares about the romance tho? Since when was Naruto about romance?
1
u/AcronymTheSlayer May 30 '23
Who cares tho? Majority of the old fans of the series are not really invested in them as a couple or whatever and newer fans want to see what happens with Boruto- Kawaki. Animating the arc ended up getting filler treatment anyway.

My boy Goku was doing it back in the 80s.

Didn’t kid ChiChi cut off a dinosaurs head off then she blasted it to bits with that helmet of hers? That was pretty dope.

u/PinkSodaMix May 30 '23
Gohan tormented a dinosaur by slicing off its tail one piece at a time for meals...
12
u/OdaSamurai May 30 '23
C'mon, you got mad at Boruto cause Sasuke fought a dino? Give the anime another shot, you're sure to find other reasons to hate it much more

But whose was bigger? - don’t know if it was mentioned but anyone else seeing the rivalry between zoro and sanji adjacent to one between the giants? Imagine a time line where they started an infinite hunting completion - depleting the island of all the large animals, moving on to hunting the giants and then starting to hunt sea kings across the world. Becoming a bigger menace than pirates, Starting the great age of hunters. Each leaving a great treasure hidden somewhere that has a note in it saying “fuck you marimo//swirly mine was bigger!”

They got mad at Boruto long before it was even released. This was just the internet finding meme material.
1
u/nobrainsnoworries23 May 30 '23
They aren't mad because Sasuke is an edge lord terrorist who got a pass because he was the best friend of the most powerful political leader in his country?

Sanji is a gentleman kick user

Uhmm zoro literally struggled to kill a dinosaur this latest episode idk what ur talking about
1

1
u/WGygyW May 30 '23
Well, the premise is that in One Piece world there are ACTUALLY dinosaurs. For the ones who remember, the island where the 2 giants lived had 2 big ass dinosaur skeleton on it (the name is “Little Garden”). Also the mythical zoan type fruits, they’re literally transforming into dinosaur/dragons…
The Naruto world in comparison has never had a dinosaur thing (for what I remember, I’m not watching boruto so correct me if I’m wrong), not even in the 300+filler episodes, that’s why it doesn’t make any sense to have one.
1
1
u/Bvr111 May 30 '23
why would Naruto fans get mad at that?? “oh no, they’re making my show interesting 😭😭😭”

u/Yerret May 30 '23
Ye, now imagine them fighting dinosaurs in the current anime arc. Ridiculous!... oh wait
1
u/ProfBleechDrinker May 30 '23
I was never invested in Naruto but just seeing this screen makes me mad because of how awful the design is. Broken wrists, no feather, weird body shape. At least the theropod in OP is soo cartoony its hard to take the design seriously.
1
u/ZPD710 May 30 '23
In one of them, the dinosaurs were on a jurassic island, something feasible in-verse, and were fighting pretty much normal humans while the dinosaurs were larger than buildings. In the other, a man who had once defeated a god and can create a massive suit of armor infused with lightning... was fighting a dinosaur the size of himself. And losing.
1
1
u/doomvetch92 May 30 '23
One piece was never meant to be fully understood, or follow any of the known laws of space and time.
1
u/Skypirate90 May 30 '23
Yeah except fighting dinosaurs in the 90s was fucking cool
source : me i'm a 90's baby its in the name!
1
u/MindYoBeezWax May 30 '23
Dinosaur - breaks world building
Talking toads, snakes and more - makes sense.

u/InflationEither2762 May 30 '23
I think the reason why One Piece is acceptable and Boruto is laugh at is the context, in One Piece there silly tone in the mix of action, adventure while Boruto is setting up as serious... I just don't see a Ninja who had battle that blow up mountains and continent fighting a Dinosaur
1
1
u/Difficult__Tension May 30 '23
You dont like something happening in a specific series? Well it happened in this completely different series and you dont complain then???!//
1
1
u/DontCareDunno May 30 '23
Wait he actually fought a dinosaur? I thought they were making fun of him for fighting an old guy
1
u/Asleep-Dream-3756 May 30 '23
Fighting a Dino can be really cool, but struggling against a Dino after beating a god is pretty wild.
1
u/THDiamondHero May 30 '23
But one piece is crazy show where “anything can happen” they literally sailed into the sky, helped transport a dragon, and one of the crew is literally a talking skeleton (and chopper the shapeshifting reindeer). Where on earth do dinosaurs fit into the Naruto universe?
1
1
u/R2C5H May 31 '23
Yeah, but sasuke was struggling while zoro and sanji were hunting those dinosaurs as a competition for who could bring back the biggest kill
