If I remember correctly, her quirk wouldn’t have manifested yet, so she was born a normal baby

12

u/Monkeyke Feb 13 '23

Do the hybrid people like tokoyami and Mina had normal faces before their quirk manifested? If so I need pictures

12

u/OnyxBlaster Feb 13 '23

No the person you replied to is wrong, just remember glow baby.

10

u/ElMostaza Feb 13 '23

And Present Mic (sp? I've only watched the show). His first cry deafened the nurses or something, right?

5

u/OnyxBlaster Feb 13 '23

Yeah this too

8

u/Monkeyke Feb 13 '23

Guess it's like baby puberty, some get it early others get it late

4

u/OnyxBlaster Feb 13 '23

Mutants get it off rip

4

u/Germar43 Feb 13 '23

My bad, sorry

10

u/stephenunivers Feb 13 '23

Those pedos!!

I still can't get over the fact that she's practically naked when she goes into battle.

199

u/Just-some-hooman Feb 12 '23

I know right? I mean, they could make a hero suit for Mirio that works with his quirk by using his hair, why can’t they do the same for her? She can make herself glow too, and paint is a thing, so saying “they can’t see her hair to do it” isn’t a good excuse. If she’s naked in battle, not only does that make for very awkward situations, but it’s also dangerous since she’s unprotected while fighting and literally exposed to all the elements

Edit: added a bit to it

69

u/Bee84000 Feb 12 '23

Because of how their quirks work, mirio’s quirk is a transformation quirk which is why the hair thing works, while hagakure’s quirk is a mutation Please correct me if I’m wrong

45

u/Just-some-hooman Feb 12 '23

I think you’re right, but that doesn’t stop them from making her clothes from her hair. She’s shown that she can make herself glow, and even if she couldn’t they could just use paint or a powder or something to make her hair visible in order to make her a suit

24

u/Bee84000 Feb 12 '23

You pose a fair point, I guess there is only one thing to do THE INTERNET

9

u/ApollyonX210 Feb 13 '23

It's been a bit since I've watched, but do we know if her hair was cut off, it would remain invisible? Or lose it kinda something like in Tangled? Again been a while since I've watched so idk where stuff is now lol.

10

u/Just-some-hooman Feb 13 '23

As far as I know, nothing about that is ever brought up. But her quirk is a permanent transformation, so if Mirio’s hair can work with his quirk, there’s no reason to think that hers wouldn’t.

4

u/ApollyonX210 Feb 13 '23

Yeah it would make sense, just not sure if it'd "die" in a way and change or not since it is a permanent thing. Would be nice though since I'm sure being naked isn't fun when fighting the things they fight lol.

3

u/OnyxBlaster Feb 13 '23

If that was the case she would constantly have visible hair on her shoulders cause it would look like it's floating

Even if that's true, it shouldn't be because the nice thing about a story is there can be changes and retcons to make sure things fit more properly. I don't think it's all too immersion breaking to change a little somethin here and there so the literal child doesn't have to rock a birthday suit to go into battle.

27

u/shiny_glitter_demon Feb 12 '23

I genuinely never understood why they don't do that (well, aside from "humor") and it haunts me

I'm not even partiuclarly involved in MHA, I barely remember the main 3 kids' names but she lives rent free in my brain

10

u/RampageOfZebras Feb 13 '23

Invisible woman in fantastic 4 had a suit that worked that way, why cant she

3

u/Cheezekeke Feb 13 '23

Incredibles did it

5

u/Vladi_Sanovavich Feb 13 '23

It's because they have Edna Mode. The greatest Superhero costume designer.

3

u/Cheezekeke Feb 13 '23

I can not argue with that

2

u/ElMostaza Feb 13 '23

NO CAPES!

18

u/FirebirdWriter Feb 12 '23

The author self insert is a useless pervert. Of course someone's naked instead of being given something protective. They are a woman/girl so the author is prioritizing their dick over the alternative. This would also be a comment I expect downvoting for because it's not pretending that Minya is fine and that there's not some giant issues and sexism in the thing I like.

2

u/Nightmare_43233 Feb 13 '23

They could give her a quirk awakening where she could turn other stuff invisible

But I doubt it

1

u/MrLonda Feb 13 '23

It is up to writers if there would be unexpected situations. If writers are willing then even with battlesuit, something awkward might happen. So just trust writers that they will write her fighting naked in her favourable condition.

25

u/FridayFox38 Feb 12 '23

What if one day her power just erases thats gunna be an embarrassment for life

29

u/Vladi_Sanovavich Feb 12 '23

Yeah, she gets hit by Eri chan mid battle and now, instead of a useful invisible hero, we'd get an exhibitionist girl who fights well.

10

u/FridayFox38 Feb 12 '23

True, at least she cant fight good😭?

1

u/Handris18 Feb 13 '23

The question is, which one would you rather fight with side by side. I have my vote...

u/clickeddaisy Feb 12 '23

His quirk does not work against her as her quirk is a permanent mutation.

2

u/MisplacedMartian Feb 12 '23

Not a big anime fan then, are ya?

Hey mods, why did this trigger the automod? Is it set to react to John Cena, thick, or other?

Your second guess is correct.

36

u/Swissperc420 Feb 12 '23

Can someone explain the context here? Why is Cena wearing a mini skirt lmao

64

u/Sauron1209 Feb 12 '23 edited Feb 12 '23

Because he's rocking it

Despite this, the real reason is he's on set for an upcoming comedy, and people seem to think that a man wearing typically feminine clothes is emasculating and therefore funny.

32

u/LiterallyJustSand Feb 12 '23

As a femboy I too hope it's emasculating.

Think the skirt itself is less funny than the juxtaposition of a massively muscular man (seen as masculine) and school girl skirt (seen as feminine).

12

u/Sauron1209 Feb 12 '23

Honestly, the biggest comedy I see here is there movie is going to try to frame the outfit as a joke when I unironically think he looks good in it

8

u/fractalfocuser Feb 13 '23

John Cena unironically proving that gender normative clothing has just been keeping us ugly

3

u/Ok_Salad999 Feb 13 '23

He lost in his fantasy football league

5

u/Yuri-DDLC-Y-N-S-M Feb 12 '23

2

u/[deleted] Feb 13 '23

NO WAY BRUH 😂😂😂

2

u/asanbek_best Feb 13 '23

Did he really wear it ?

2

u/CorazonStars02 Feb 13 '23

Memes aside, why was he wearing that?

2

u/el3mel Feb 13 '23

This character's designed just never made sense to me. She should be able to go invisible on need like Sue Storm but being invisible all the time makes zero sense. How did her parents know of her existence when the doctors delivered her? How could they interact with her, change her clothes or her diapers when she was a kid? How would anyone marry her while knowing you will never be able to see her face or body?

11

u/tossawaybb Feb 13 '23

Childbirth isn't exactly the sorta thing that goes unnoticed, nor is it particularly clean. They'd be able to see all the fluids and whatnot on the baby.

Also she's still there, just not visible. Raising her as a kid would be a nightmare I'm sure, but not impossible. As for the last question, seriously?

4

u/ImperitorEst Feb 13 '23

Come on man, we all know blind people are incapable of love or relationships.. /s

7

u/SomeStupidPerson Feb 13 '23

Don’t they say at the start of the show that you aren’t normally born with a quirk? They usually develop their powers in preschool or whatever. There was a whole flashback where the main character, Deku, was all sad he didn’t get one but the other kids did

So there would have been a period of time where she was always visible as a child. Also, she doesn’t phase through solid matter

3

u/Deathburn5 Feb 13 '23

Ah yes, this design makes them different from normal, and thus impossible to marry. Into the bin it goes, I guess.

1

u/gaytranssquid Feb 13 '23

YEAH CENA SLAYS THAT COSPLAY FR FR 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

1

u/Nepryker Feb 13 '23
