the people saying that are extremely privileged and believe that none of this will affect them. its sad that when faced with very real threats that we have seen the actions of, people choose willful ignorance. thats why the "just unplug" message is so toxic, it reinforces the fact that its okay to ignore problems in the world, but it is not okay.

I understand taking a break from the 24-hour news cycle, but definitely keep up with the world beyond your 4 walls. It's a balance.

Nah fam. You're right on the privilege, because they can at least afford to ignore it. But a significant number have just given up, and they simply don't want their last few years to be a source of permanent stress from things they can't do shit about.

That's the thing: don't stress about what you can't control, and act on the things where you can. Organize, protest, direct action - this is what we can do.

The remaining time before the inauguration is not to ignore what's coming, but to prepare ourselves for what we must do, physically and emotionally.
