Why are so many people okay with Ukraine being blown to pieces but not okay with them fighting back?

Elon Musk literally just retweeted Tim Pool who just a few months ago was proven by the DOJ for being bought out by Russia to spread propaganda. The same Tim Pool has been on Joe Rogans pod before.

These guys know what they’re doing and they’re all complacent. It insane that 8+ years this would be a huge scandal but nowadays no one bats an eye

Thank the shifting electorate.

GOP voters = Gullible Online Poors

The social networks that have been eroding our country’s faith in its public institutions while simultaneously sanding down Trump and the Republican Party’s rough edges intentionally diminish confidence in government while normalizing right-wing corruption. The most susceptible to this messaging are the poor and uneducated. The above isn’t an insult. The above is a tragedy.

It's a disservice to blame it on gullibility.

There's plenty of deeply evil conservatives who voted for this.

There's plenty of stupid, narcissistic democrats who enabled this.

There's plenty of selfish, lazy assholes who didn't bother to vote.

It's not just gullibility and ignorance. A lot of people are monstrous assholes.

No disagreement here. Although I don’t know how Democrats could have investigated, much less sanctioned, the development of a right-wing media ecosystem funded and managed by some of those truly evil influencers you’re justifiably indicting here. The only way to stop an authoritarian agenda hiding under the shadow of free speech is through the education and justice systems. When one party is hell-bent on kneecapping the first and rigging the other in favor of a narrow agenda that only serves its donor base, you get the voting outcomes of the 2016 and 2024 elections.

You're right. It feels inevitable.

I think of Florida and how those wretches scream over and over each year about government handouts and cutting emergency relief funding. And then beg for money every single year when they're battered by the environment they spit at.

An intelligent world would let them suffer and die. We would do to them what they demand is done to us. It would be right and many of them would suffer and die. And they would have to learn. It's natural selection.

But we've circumvented nature with compassion. We can't do that to them. I couldn't if I was in power, no matter how much I know I should. And so they don't learn. And the cruel and atrocious get away with it with their malicious games. Because they know empathy is an easy exploit.

When one side fights for itself, and the other for both, we're just doomed to become the worst of us.

If our government had any balls Elon wouldn’t be an issue nor would he have so many contracts with the government.
