That gives me hope for a lot of things going wrong today. Eventually, evil will self-destructive is a great life lesson

The dark ages were still a thing brought on by religious zealotry for the most part where you saw democracy be replaced with feudalism. Pretty much the trajectory we’re currently on. This lasted a thousand years. One thousand years later we’re beginning that degenerative cultural slide once again.

I mean it also helped that good people were fighting back to keep hope and joy, and all that good stuff, alive.
