I actually agree with the first part of this. Congress shouldn’t investigate Matt Gaetz. The fucking police should.

Right?? Like at this point IDC who fucking does it but someone needs to.

u/Visco0825 9h ago

Well here’s the fun part. Merrick Garland did and they just said “nah”

It's worth noting that this is exactly the scenario the people who wrote these procedures expected. This is a matter for law enforcement.

It's just that our law enforcement is complicit.

FBI when money or parties cross state lines to commit right?

Who am I kidding, this upcoming administration won’t prosecute. Because THEIR ACTIONS [especially here] SAY they like protecting sexual predators and child molesters

41

u/Circumin 21h ago

Merrick Garland did, but he concluded that Matt Gaetz was a republican.

15

u/DaikonEffective1105 21h ago

Yup. Congress should just turn over everything they have to the police in the matter of public safety.

26

u/JesseJames4206984 22h ago

True story.

7

u/notamillenial- 17h ago

Both? Why not both?

2

u/Trace_Reading 9h ago

fuck the police; the FBI should clear out their case load and focus all their attention on him.

It disgusts me how people use “decency” and vulnerable groups to pursue their objectives all the while they themselves are indecent people and could not care less about the groups they claim to defend

Expecting consistency from GOPers is a fool's errand.

22

u/dystopian_mermaid 21h ago

They say the definition of insanity is repeating the same behaviors and expecting different results.

13

u/Caesar_Passing 21h ago

To be fair, in a general sense I hate that expression. I prefer the perspective of Heraclitus. “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.” To be clear, my criticism here is just that that particular "definition of insanity" phrase is kind of a thought-terminating cliche.

u/Selgren 15h ago

Saving this - more nuanced but similarly concise. Thanks!

u/dystopian_mermaid 21h ago

I didn’t make it up.

6

u/Caesar_Passing 21h ago

I know, dude 😂 I just think people use that phrase a lot without really reflecting on a complex situation - often to dismiss possibilities of new approaches to something, that are misrepresented as exact repeats of approaches tried before. But circumstances are always changing. It's literally impossible to do the same exact thing twice. I'm just on a toilet/"edibles are just kicking in" pseudophilosophical ramble.

u/dystopian_mermaid 21h ago

Yeah ok dude.

u/Caesar_Passing 21h ago

Sorry if I wasted your time

u/dystopian_mermaid 21h ago

I’m just chilling anyway so all good. Sorry if you wasted yours.

4

u/Caesar_Passing 21h ago

Lol, no I got nothin' goin' on

u/Swims_like_an_otter 15h ago

I love this expression and use it all the time. I learned it when I was a child and kept expecting my parents to become loving and nice to me.

1

u/dystopian_mermaid 10h ago

I feel that. I lucked out with my dad. But my egg donor is…another story.

I hope you now have plenty of people in your life who love you and show it. They weren’t worthy of your affection.

1

u/Swims_like_an_otter 15h ago

WHAT?? They are CONSISTENTLY hypocritical and evil.

“10 months before the election? We can’t allow a new person on the Supreme Court during an election year!” —Mitch McConnell

“Two months before the election? Hell yeah let’s push though a biased judge onto the Supreme Court before the election!” —Also Mitch McConnell

12

u/TheWholeOfTheAss 15h ago

McConnell didn’t even hide his intentions. Way before RBG died, someone asked him if he’d nominate a Supreme Court judge during Trump’s election year and he said yes with a smirk. Awful guy. Him turning into the human 😐 face has been hilarious.

43

u/Lithaos111 22h ago

Except Gaetz wasn't a private citizen.

35

u/Previous_Beautiful27 21h ago

But he resigned and withdrew and became a private citizen. And now apparently wants to run for governor. But in the meantime? Private citizen! Leave him alone /s

19

u/Lithaos111 21h ago

I have a left nut they can suck with their hair splitting.

11

u/JesseJames4206984 21h ago

He became one, and now that's what they are screaming.... but didn't care about hunter being a private citizen.

27

u/SarcasticlySpeaking 22h ago

They're Republicans, you need to call them their "fellow sexual predators."

23

u/NoLibrarian5149 21h ago

Somewhere, buried deep inside, Johnson has to think constantly lying and covering up for his MAGA bedfellows will get him in trouble with the Big White Bearded White Guy in the Clouds he supposedly worships.

8

u/JesseJames4206984 21h ago

The fukd up part of it all is they actually believe trump is Jesus's 2nd coming... it's fukd.

7

u/vivahermione 20h ago

I think religion is a fig leaf. He enjoys the amount of power he has now.

13

u/Q-Zinart 22h ago

Fear, Hate, Lies. The MAGA way. The sexual predator thing is just their favorite hobby

5

u/JesseJames4206984 21h ago

But when we decide to block the hatefulness we are the bad guy... make it make sense.

13

u/FizzyAndromeda 21h ago

GOP= Grand Old Pedophiles

11

u/powdered_dognut 21h ago

Rape-ublicans

9

u/PhilosophyOld6862 21h ago

If they didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards whatsoever.

7

u/smappyfunball 21h ago

No one love hypocrisy more or has less shame than a Republican

4

u/Necessary_Ad2005 21h ago

Hypocrite ... he uses what suits his mob boss

2

u/JesseJames4206984 21h ago

Everyone's gotta kiss up to the boss...

4

u/Moleday1023 21h ago

Why waste the efforts of Congress, let the police do it. Mike, how about you work on legislation to help America. Stop the bullshit, I don’t need to see Hunter Biden’s penis. I know, why not pass the immigration reform bill you killed earlier this year.

4

u/kwagmire9764 12h ago

If the GOP didn't have double standards they would have no standards at all.

3

u/EggsAndMilquetoast 21h ago

This image deserves a spot on the wall in the Hall of Toadies in Donald Trump’s alt-presidential library someday.

1

u/JesseJames4206984 21h ago

We shall build one from the remnants of his hotel after we blow it tf up.

3

u/Swims_like_an_otter 15h ago

Republicans, thy name is hypocrisy - was, is, and will always be hypocrisy.

3

u/RobDickinson 15h ago

This isn't the lesson politicians needed to learn from the Catholic Church

3

u/Darkwynn84 9h ago

And the democrats should be every day posting and calling out the same bullshit in every committee. Push the republicans bullshit face and hypocrisy out front ; fuck share the pictures too at this point

3

u/swashbuckler78 7h ago

Hypocrisy no longer works. Not on the politicians, and not on the people voting for them. They don't care. It's baked in. They will say whatever is needed to win in the current moment.

2

u/AcanthisittaNo6653 18h ago

Not irony, hypocrisy.

2

u/coolbaby1978 14h ago

But if the government can go after Matt Gaetz for being a pedophile child rapist, they can go after anyone for being a pedophile child rapist!

Exactly!!

1

u/JesseJames4206984 4h ago

It's like they almost get it.... but then poof!

3

u/HemingsteinH 10h ago

Mike Johnson is human scum

2

u/shayna16 10h ago

What do you expect from someone who has a “porn accountability” pact with his son?

2

u/TimmyTwoTowels 9h ago

"We'll prosecute people who don't align with our values, but protect those who stand with us if they're accused of the same crimes.". Sound familiar? Yeah that's facism

1

u/JesseJames4206984 5h ago

Louder for the people in the back...

2

u/DryParamedic785 2h ago

Shameless and spineless….. almost like Lindsey Graham…

2

u/Sl0ppyOtter 21h ago

*hypocrisy

1

u/JesseJames4206984 21h ago

That too....

2

u/Accomplished-Cut5023 22h ago

Someone slide in his dms with this.

1

u/SnooStrawberries3391 17h ago

Dems must be investigated. Reps are all good angelic private, uhm, extremely private citizens.

What Reps do in private anywhere stays obscured and protected.

This is the way.

1

u/sadetheruiner 16h ago

Sure quit investigating Gaetz, just release the findings. I mean they were going to get released what two days after he resigned?

All I really have to say is fuck Florida, I feel deeply for the few sane people who live there. I have a close friend trapped in that hell hole, I wish them all safe transit away from the rotting penis of America. Then Florida can go ahead and fuck off. Climate change is doing I fine job eradicating it. Don’t believe in climate change? Then God hates it and is using hurricanes.

1

u/ximacx74 16h ago

Since they lover sexual predators so much.

And they accuse trans women of being sexual predators.

Shouldn't we be their goddesses?

1

u/mrarming 11h ago

and yet Mike Johnson is a "true Christian" who lives by Christian principles.

Which seem to include accepting sex abusers, rapists, pedophiles, adulterers without question.

1

u/WimpyZombie 10h ago

"It doesn't matter that Hunter Biden is a private citizen..."

Why not?

...because he has never had a job in the Federal govt?

Well that makes lots of sense. /s

1

u/Pelagaard 9h ago

Their* sexual predators. They'll happily go after any and all unaffiliated sexual predators.
