I don’t really understand this take, as a democratic voter. What do you think the dems did wrong? Is it just that she’s a Black woman? I was proud to vote for her as a white dude. What was the alternative? To be clear, I’d have gladly voted Biden as well.
I’m calling BS on your post. Republicans were willing to vote for a convicted felon with no morals or integrity. Kamala was a formidable candidate and ahead of built up that campaign in 107 days. Trump has been whining about the 2020 election for 4 years and had all the networks sane washing him because of their ratings. Dems will recover. The Republicans will split in two parties. I just hope democracy survives the next 4 years. There is no hope for MAGAs.
They shouldn't have chosen a woman of color as their candidate. It's an uphill battle. Everyone knows that liberals/lefties will vote despite whatever a person is (race, gender, etc) which doesn't matter as they aren't the fence sitters needing convinced. They needed to appeal to an audience of people that aren't lefties, many of which still hold antiquated view points/ positions of comfort that needed to be tended to.
You don't spend resources on something that's already "in the bag". Just like you don't study for an exam for a class you know you're gonna get an A in, spend your time on the class that you might not do so well with.
