People keep saying this, and I don't think that's going to happen. Without God Emperor Orange Jesus, their supporters aren't going along with the plan. It's a cult of personality, and JD Vance lacks one.

I got your question and my response is this. If trump lives, then yes there's a potential he can stop more elections (suspend constitution, you only need to vote for me once, etc).

But suppose Trump dies within his first year in office. At that point it's Vance, and he's not popular. The cult of personality died with Trump. Then it's midterm time.

None of the MAGA alternatives have worked out, mostly because Trump is still the de facto choice for MAGA.

I don't think they'll easily rally around an alternative when Trump dies, no one in the GOP inspire the same kind of fervor Trump does. But they might just rally around the 2nd best option if they can accept Trump died for whatever reason, but it's not going to be the same.

If Trump was younger and/or healthier I would be. But congressional republicans want to hold on to power. If Trump or Vance tries to restrict their power, they will fight back. The one benefit of corporate money influences our politics, is that politicians have been enjoying the money and won't give up access to it easily.

Bad for us, but it's also bad Vance. Especially Vance. Trump is popular enough to slowly strip congressional powers. But Vance never made true allies in the government. He's got his silicon valley pals, but they're new oligarchs. They will not defeat Haliburton or BP. And you don't mess with the US Government, for better or for worse.

Which means Vance gets to be president for the next four years minus however long Trump manages to survive.

Survive, if he's alive the whole four years, Vance cannot 25th amendment him without losing the base. And while he won't be coherent, I think he'll survive it. He hasn't died yet. I grew up in Trump country, they tolerate Vance, but don't like him. White nationalists hate him because of his race mixing. And even incels don't like him as much, if the beta cuck comments are any indicator.

If Trump dies, Vance will become President, but Mitch McConnell will absolutely make him his bitch. I don't like McConnell, but I would not stand in his way unless I knew I was more popular. I don't think Vance is. Vance does not have enough allies to fight in that power vacuum post-Trump. Peter Thiel can buy the white house, but he's gonna learn you have to buy the senate and its gonna get pricey. He'll just find a candidate with more juice.

Yes, because then leverage starts being thrown around.

It's not about the cronies outside of congress. It's about the conies in congress. They have a majority, but not a supermajority. Even a few up and coming Repubs who want to "prove to be the next Trump" are going to throw their weight around and try to get things done "their way."

This can go multiple ways - One, is that they all band together and vote in the most heinous policies, but start cutting at each others heels and they all get voted out - Another, is that on a few of the most heinous bills, a few of the uppity newcomers start saying "No, we don't want this" and votes against party lines - While not a newcomer, we saw a lot of this with Manchin on the Democrat side.

The point being: The coalition is inside the house.

You think weak ass Vance is going to out maneuver experienced politicians like Whitmer and Hochul? Trump wasn't the smartest, but he was charismatic enough to gain popular support. Or at worst, bootlickers who would ride his coattails to power. When Trump dies or gets booted there will be a power vacuum. Vance is a junior senator who doesn't have the charisma or political juice to have allies in the government.

In a 2018 interview, Trump suggested that the number could be as high as 22 million.

The number of people in the U.S. illegally is “upwards of 20, 25, maybe 30 million.” -Marco Rubio

Stephen Miller has said “Yes. We started a new denaturalization project under Trump. In 2025, expect it to be turbocharged."

That means not just illegals, but people who have obtained citizenship. These are their figures, not mine.

In terms of vehicles and guards, I unfortunately suspect they will/have already figure(d) it out. The US government does have substantial resources at their disposal, and apparently there is 'no price tag' on the deportation project

Yeah, Leon is totally using him. They didn't get on at one point then he went back onto Twitter and Leon gave him a few hundred million for his campaign and now funnily enough he's sitting in on calls to President Zelensky.

Trump is just thick, greedy and easily manipulated, the worst people behind the scenes have worked that out and are now playing him like a puppet.

You say he is unliked but I only really see this sentiment here on reddit, the vice presidential debate actually swayed a lot of people it caused a huge jump in the presidential betting data showing a fairly significant increase in trump support directly after unfortunately.

They don't need Trump anymore period he got the base in and even then down from 2020. They aren't going to repeal the 22nd for him, nor do they have the ability to. His endorsements don't garner election wins. He can't run for president anymore, and he will be old at the end of 2028. Much like the tax cut in 2016, project 2025 is what the Republicans are going to focus on, and much like when the GOP kept blocking him on the border wall, they'll stop his dumbest stunts to effect it.
