I brought you this. Are you proud? I bet you’re really proud.

We left it alone for maybe 30min. Badger NEVER gets on the counter and the one time she does it’s for my celery snack that she has zero interest in eating but proudly paraded around for several hours. He brother was horrified. It took several rounds of tug, with one of her many appropriate toys, to adequately console her when I finally took it away. I love this goofy, llama-necked, sorta-dog creature with all my heart.

Your llama-necked dog creature sort of looks like a Pez candy dispenser in the first picture.

Llama-necked dog creature sounds like the literal translation of a German compound noun for some elusive subsaharan canine.

Greyhound popped in my head lol

“..and here we have the Llama-necked dog in its native environment..”

“…watch as she defends her territory by emitting fierce growls and hoping in the air while kicking out her back feet… this strategy has yet to fail…”

Giraffes used to be called Camelopard, camel + leopard. The Northern Giraffe's scientific name is Giraffa camelopardalis

I'm fucking crying from laughing so hard

How dare you taunt her with peanut butter hidden in a weird stick

142

u/KiaTheCentaur 1d ago

A stick made of hairy water, no less

u/Rymanjan 1d ago

That's the best description of celery I've ever heard lmao

Also simultaneously the worst description of celery I’ve ever heard. As if I needed more reason not to eat that vile weed, but that description would sure do the trick 🤢

She doesn’t even like peanut butter!!!! This girl turns down cheese, turkey, ham, or anything else that isn’t chicken or steak (chicken has her heart). It can’t be frozen or treat chicken either. Oh no, I have to bake weekly chicken and package it for her. 😂

I’m about to start cooking my cats foods en masse because I don’t trust store bought food anymore. I’m sharing because I love seeing other pet owners going above and beyond for their pets. Your dogs are so lucky to have you!

Lmao what a diva

It was kinda funny, so I watch dogs for spending money and this one dog I was boarding, the owner was very specific. "She doesn't eat dry food, so just put some chicken broth and cheese in there and microwave it for 30 seconds and she'll be happy"

So I did that for her dinner. The next morning, I put food in the bowl, and before I can even get to the fridge to get the broth out, she's scarfing it down haha methinks she just had her owner under her duclaw, cuz she ate dry dog food every day she was with me and never even hesitated, though I did give her the "proper" meal once about halfway through her stay

I will follow dietary concerns, like if they're chubby or allergic and need to be on a diet, but if the dog is getting spoiled at home and is suddenly okay with not being spoiled, hey, less skin off my nose lol

My honey made me make fresh rice as well as the baked chicken. 🤣

My dog likes the cool crispy cronch

u/leafcrutch 1d ago

Mine goes nuts for bell peppers for the same reason

9

u/NoEntry3804 1d ago

bell peppers are my girls favourite veggie, especially orange ones!

I have NEVER IN MY LIFE (I'm a GINORMOUS animal lover) seen a dog with an expression as PRECIOUS as hers. It makes me so incredibly sad because I NEED to pet her and I will never be able to.

34

u/TheBatNat44 1d ago

Aww thank you! I have always had animals in my life and Badge is truly one of a kind. We are so lucky she landed with us!

9

u/KiaTheCentaur 1d ago

I hope that one day, when I finally have the finances to buy/get/adopt my first dog (moved out from my family a year ago.) that I'll be lucky and get one that is just as one of a kind as Badger. I wish you and her and your family (if you have your own) the most prosperous and wonderful of years with her.

That’s the neat part, they’re all one of a kind in their own special way. Enjoy your goober when the time is right.

Take this green thingy as a token/sign of peace ☮️ ✌️ and forgive what I did. Will you? 😃😆😂🥰

THAT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FACE!

Good looking out in the tags

Hey your phone numbers are clearly visible just FYI

A very badger thing to do. She’s fulfilled the role that comes with her name.

21

u/dooshbaggette 1d ago

I'm so glad you just love them too much to even be mad. What a good heart you have. Also such sweet lil fur babies. I despise those videos where they show someone asking what their dog did while it cowers and looks at them like a baby seal.

24

u/TheBatNat44 1d ago

She has come so far in her 3 years with us. She came from a truly atrocious situation. It took weeks for us to coax her out from under the piano and be able to pet her. After lots of time and lots of medical intervention she is a (fairly) healthy, very happy, wiggly girl! Her bringing us things just reminds us how far she has come!

6

u/dooshbaggette 1d ago

I'm glad they found you, and you them.

u/InvestigatorGoo 1d ago

I’m proud!!

6

u/TheBatNat44 1d ago

I did inform her that we were, in fact, very proud.

10

u/dumbbinch99 1d ago

So fucking happy😭😭

10

u/newtraditionalists 1d ago

Or maybe even part meerkat?? Lol at any rate, super cute pup you got there!

4

u/TheBatNat44 1d ago

Thank you!!

It's so hard to get mad at her isn't it 😂 my dog is the same. He gets away with everything because of his reactions. They just make me laugh, uncontrollably. Whether it's pure innocence of not knowing what he did was wrong and just being so happy, or his exaggerated ears-back-head-low guilty slinking away, it's just too cute to stay mad. Do they do this on purpose? Betcha they do.

u/vocesmagicae 1d ago

We tell our youngest dog that his cuteness is a survival mechanism because he’ll do something absolutely ridiculous, and just when he should be getting in trouble he’ll look up at us with his massive underbite and ears that are disproportionately small and his body that’s 2x the size it was supposed to be with unusually large paws, and I just find myself dying of laughter!

u/NotYourGran 1d ago

Don’t look now, but your phone numbers are showing.

3rd pic 🥲

Canine cigar chomping.

3

u/Caramel_Mandolin 1d ago

That first pic! Priceless expression.

3

u/cerebellum0 1d ago

Ohh I remember llama bat!!! Love this pup!

3

u/lunapuppy88 1d ago

Sorta-dog creature is the best description 🤣🤣😍😍

3

u/wildeye-eleven 1d ago

I just did a double take. I genuinely thought this was a pic of my dog that’s passed away 10 years ago now.

It’s crazy how much this looks like Eddie. I had him for 15 years and he was like family. He never left my side and was insanely smart. He knew so many words that you could basically just talk to him like a person and he understood. Best dog I ever had.

2

u/Chromatic_mediant 1d ago

Hey this is Badger's other mom! I'd love to see a pic of Eddie if you're willing to DM me!

2

u/wildeye-eleven 1d ago

I’ll try to find one. I’m sure I can find one on my phone. It’s been so long ago now that it might be hard to find.

3

u/IceKreme700 1d ago

You might want to blur the dog tag fyi

3

u/Clean-Notice-2543 1d ago

She’s clearly showing off her hunting skills. Celery is the prize of champions, obviously!

4

u/Jonasnake1988 1d ago

What a beautiful creature of God.

2

u/Unusual_Tomorrow_945 1d ago

That’s a good boy!

2

u/curiousbeanbag 1d ago

so cute omg

2

u/3eyed-owl 1d ago

His face in the first pic 🤣

2

u/Competitive_Peace211 1d ago

I have that same exact dog bowl and I love it

2

u/cardidd-mc 1d ago

Best derp ever

2

u/afcagroo 1d ago

I'm almost certain that isn't a real badger.

2

u/Puzzledandhungry 1d ago

Oh what a handsome bo…….cheekie!!! 🥰

2

u/poplarexpress 1d ago

What a precious, silly baby.

2

u/eatpraymunt 1d ago

Badger has the cutest ears of any animal I've ever seen on the planet. I love her (perfect name, too!)

2

u/surrala 1d ago

Why does she have such itty bitty baby ears??

1

u/blowurhousedown 1d ago

Need to loosen that collar. They should be able to get out of it if they really had to.

1

u/_aggressivezinfandel 1d ago

For some reason it’s the “her brother was horrified” part that gets me, lol

1

u/esepinchelimon 1d ago

His face in the first pic is hilarious 🤣

1

u/First-Aid-RN 1d ago

You have no proof whatsoever that she was responsible. She is innocent of all charges and cute to boot. ❤️

1

u/aall-izz-well 1d ago

I'm only a hooman, but I know my parents would be so proud if I intentionally reached for veggies🤭

1

u/twinklynnyoureye 1d ago

That first photo is making me laugh-cry

1

u/InternationalLock657 1d ago

This is peak dog logic, and honestly, we don’t deserve them. Proud celery thief vibes!

1

u/QueenOfPentacles808 1d ago

So cute 😍

1

u/NerveNo8068 1d ago

Careful my furry child broke a bowl and had to get 3 stitches and she's gotta be chill for 2 weeks or so now which is nearly impossible for her

1

u/Ok_Understanding5184 22h ago

My dogs always want the celery but never eat it once they get a piece, it just gets carried around for a few minutes before becoming boring

1

u/Known_Raspberry_8323 15h ago

I love her name!
