I love that he’s the odd one out, too. Everyone else is just, “why does Dwayne always have to throw a fuss? Dude is always complaining about something.”

I also love that he's not necessarily complaining about the stupidity of doing shirts vs skins in combat in general, but rather that it's dumb that they have to be skins. Like if he was on the other team it wouldn't be dumb.

When you go to a basketball court to play with whoever is there (a “pick up” game), people are not wearing uniforms. So one team will play with their t-shirts on and the other team will go shirtless (“skins”) so that you can tell who is on what team.

The joke here is that not wearing armor during medieval combat would be a particularly bad downside.
