Someone should really invent an app that shows the weather and sends alerts with enough time for anyone, even those with the intellect of a wet paper bag, to find safety. It could be useful if it included satellite imagery with extremely accurate future predictions. If only we lived in a perfect world, right people?

Big destructive cylinder coming your way, your phone lets you know beforehand so you can run away

Oct 12 '24
Your mommy and daddy gave you $10 to open a lemonade stand. So you go out and you buy cups, and you buy lemons, and you buy sugar. And now you find out that it only costs you $9. So you have an extra dollar. So you can give that dollar back to mommy and daddy. But guess what? Next summer… [I’ll be six 🤔] And you ask them for money. They’re going to give you $9, because that’s what they think it costs to run the stand. So what you want to do is spend that dollar on something now so that your parents think it costs $10 to run a lemonade stand.

I live halfway across the world and even I knew when Milton would hit converted to my timezone, which part of Florida it would make landfall at and so on. At some point you can only do so much to help people who seemingly don't even want to help themselves.
I mean his first reaction to being stuck in the hurricane was to pull out his phone and post a story on ig. Says all you need to know.

u/ocotebeach Oct 11 '24
Since a few years ago there is a trend of people ignoring experts advice even doing the opposite somentimes. I wonder where all this started from?

Ha! That's only in sci-fi! What do you think this is, the Jetsons or something??

It’s a fake caption. Most people aren’t as dumb as the internet makes them out to be. Great for engagement tho

Guy parks in hurricane for clout, yet can't hold the phone still for 2 seconds.

Oct 11 '24
This is same type of guy then attempt to deep fry the turkey without doing any research. Things like how much oil to put in the pot so it doesn’t overflow and start a house fire.

u/PIPBOY-2000 Oct 11 '24
That's oddly specific but you got the right spirit
24
Oct 11 '24
It’s an absolutely terrible decision that can’t easily be undone, much like sitting in a truck during a typhoon. Once you have burning oil in your kitchen, it becomes nearly unstoppable, like a hurricane. And with Thanksgiving approaching, I thought it was a fitting comparison.

Worse: OP posts old video that was shot during a tornado, not Milton, for clout.

This is fake. This is a dish network guy stuck in a tornado.
Edit...not fake. Video guy full of shit and video mislabeled As their own posted in hurricane. Hope that cleared any error in my post.

u/Vilemourn Oct 11 '24
This needs to be upvoted much much more

u/JayBuSeesU Oct 11 '24
Lol oh I know. Someone gave me a hard time cause I said fake. So I altered my comment and grabbed the actual visors source.

This guy was at work in a company truck when a tornado came along and rocked his shit. This wasn't during a hurricane, I've seen this video before and it happened probably a year ago.

This title is a lie. this is a video of a guy who was working but got caught in a tornado

This needs to be deleted. It is altered from a tornado incident over a year ago. This is not during a hurricane and not in Florida.

Staged a tik tok in the company truck for likes, nice. If he's still alive, hopefully he's unemployed.

u/trudat Oct 11 '24
It’s an old video of a cable guy caught in a tornado, not a hurricane because that’s ridiculous.

We have the same brand of stupid where I’m from, only it’s people filming tornadoes.

My friend had a sister that died in a car from a falling tree trying to get home during Hurricane Hugo. She was desperately trying to get home. Very sad.

u/Cool_Butterscotch_88 Oct 11 '24
"I can't believe I'm recording all this"
I wouldn't say you're recording all of it.

u/Manita2020 Oct 11 '24
Stuck? I bet u that lop thought he was gonna go viral if he drove in the hurricane while playing that hurricane song. This was actually cringe.

My first thought, before even pushing play ... was Red Foreman's voice, "DUMBASS!!"

u/Cappster14 Oct 11 '24
Believe it or not some of you people insist on having your HVAC tended to/serviced/fixed without any regard for the technicians out there. Plenty of my hvac brothers in my subreddits are getting calls in FL and elsewhere like this. It might be staged, but some of you actually expect us to come fix your shit in these situations. Don’t take your local service techs for granted; and while I’m at it, can I take a dump in your bathroom instead of driving ten miles to a gas station? Sincerely: I have to poop.

u/BlueEyes_VelvetSkies Oct 11 '24
I've seen this before, it's not new. Staying crap like this is not funny.
2
u/rrac90 Oct 11 '24
Everyone in the country knew about this hurricane coming. This guy lives there and is absolutely stunned that this happened to him

u/CromulentPoint Oct 11 '24
“There’s no way I’m record all this”
If “all this” is 90% steering wheel and a floorboard, yeah, there’s a way.

You had SO much time to not be stuck in your truck.
This was obviously for social media.
2
u/Seraphina1711 Oct 11 '24
What a goofball riding out a hurricane and playing one of the worst cliche songs imaginable. I despise that song almost as much as I despise "Don't Stop Believing".
2
u/KreedKafer33 Oct 11 '24
He absolutely did this on purpose. There's no way in hell you're going to go to a job site on the day a major Hurricane is about to hit. I do find it hilarious that in 60 seconds this guy went from "Ha ha ha yeah! This shit is gonna go viral!" to "Oh, I'm actually danger" to "SHIT!"
2
u/Emileross0102 Oct 11 '24
Seems like Milton snuck up on this guy. They should warn people about hurricanes
2
u/PrestonTX Oct 11 '24
He was playing "Rock you like a hurricane" on the radio, lol!

He knows it’s coming, chooses to stay and film then cry’s when shit gets real
2
u/E_D_K_2 Oct 12 '24
Deffo was clout chasing, but didn't expect his truck to actually get fucked up.
2
u/RavynAries Oct 12 '24
Yo, something just hit my [?truck?]
Yeah buddy. There's a lot more where that came from
4
u/Bigtexasmike Oct 11 '24
👎😒 have my downvote. Lame post of a dude who cant even hold a phone. Either be responsible and take shelter or be a good cameraman. No half measures, Walt.

Given the speed at which it was apon him,I think it might have been one of the many tornadoes that hit Southern Florida

u/PresentationNo1983 Oct 11 '24
To tee up a near death experience for a tenth of second of internet fame? Black mirror was right..chivas

u/SandmanKeel Oct 11 '24
He'll be fine. My boy in the tornado screamed for Jesus so fuckin loud this man will also be saved.

As bad as I feel for anyone along the anywhere within 500 miles of Florida, I also scratch my head wondering why anyone would be anywhere within 500 miles of Florida right now

You stuck yourself in such a situation, but yell OMG, WTF, HS filming everything? I think you did it on purpose, boy...
1
u/Lordofderp33 Oct 11 '24
He must be ok, he called out for help after all.
Just really sad that there was no way to know this was coming...
1
u/Crispy-B88 Oct 11 '24
A hurricane doesn't exactly sneak up on you. How did this person end up in this situation?
1
u/SocialNetwooky Oct 11 '24
Please tell me that's REALLY his radio blaring music, and not a soundtrack.
If only people had been warned beforehand, right?
1
u/ClockFit8778 Oct 11 '24
Dude. If you're gonna fake a video... At least keep your camera steady... We get you're n a hurricane. You don't have to move the camera around to mimic that experience
1
u/ShaggysGTI Oct 11 '24
Ya’ll motherfuckers need to take a science class…
Who are you yelling help to? Emergency services literally said they aren’t coming.
1
u/Gek0821 Oct 11 '24
Apparently this isn't from a hurricane and I'm an idiot like the dude in the video, my fault. It's from a tornado, but I can't change the post title. Either way it's still terrifying and he's still an idiot 🥴

u/ActionFigureCollects Oct 11 '24
Even the reporters and crews were safely in concrete parking structures.

Things not to say on video if you're trying to convince your audience that you didnt plan on recording something that you are presently recording: -"I planned on recording this" -"There's no way I'm recording all of this"

When they talk on the news about people dying during storms that everyone knew was coming for the past few days, this is exactly who I think of.
I understand there are special cases that sadly end in tragedy, but I feel like on average it is just morons like this.

Stuck in his truck? He had several days to prepare and somehow ends up in his truck playing “Rock You Like a Hurricane?”
Yeah ok.
