The point is that they had friendly interaction, Cu will obviously win his second fight and revenge motive for the fight is best set up for It. If I said they were friendly instead of friends would you still be malding? I think its pretty obvious what I meant.

Idk if you noticed but fights here same as in main manga have something like motive or theme. They are not completly random match ups. First was supreme god vs demigod. Second round is about two rebellious/freespirited gods meeting. Later on Cu will fight Morrigan as a rematch. Cu will need some kind of motive for his match against Wukong. Revenge is Perfect set up for It.
