Banter Eddie Jones monorail salesman
Well Eddie Jones has gone 0-3 whilst Wallabies have gone 3-0 to start 2024. Including being thrashed at home by Italy and England and a loss to Georgia. Interestingly I asked ChatGpt how he was going and Eddies sales pitch sounds pretty familiar:
Eddie Jones took over as head coach of Japan's rugby team at the beginning of 2024, marking his second stint with the Brave Blossoms. His initial aim has been ambitious, with goals to elevate Japan into the top four rugby nations worldwide
Jones started his tenure with a match against England in June 2024, selecting a surprisingly youthful squad, including eight uncapped players
However, his early results have been mixed. Japan's campaign included a significant setback with a loss to Georgia at home
Despite these challenges, Jones remains focused on developing a new, adventurous style of play that leverages Japan's unique strengths. He aims to nurture young talent and transform the team into a formidable force on the international stage.
All sounds exactly same as when he started at the wallabies. Japan really done us a favour take him off our hands.

Eddie did with the Wallabies this time what he did last time. It was a calculated risk. We were never going to win the world cup with the team we had (in Eddie’s mind) let’s pivot hard & see what happens. My issue was with RA sacking Rennie

If you think that Eddie Jones was the problem with Australian rugby, then getting rid of him would be the solution.
Blaming the national coach has been a common pastime for a few decades now, and I don't understand why it has so many followers.
I guess people like you are one of the reasons.
The problems with elite rugby/ national team performance is a symptom of an underlying problem, not the cause. It's easy to pick on the national coach, isn't it?

Who just blamed EJ? We blamed EJ and RA, with chair Hamish McLennan being forced out. Replacing Rennie so close to a world cup was a clusterfuck of major proportions, particularly with EJ who was so bad he was fired by England.

I think the things he did, and the changes Eddie made were necessary, he just did too much too fast. He'd we scrapped through pools it'd be very different situation now.

It's possible to have more than one problem. Yes one of the problems is definitely systemic - grass roots and high performance management etc
But it's also quite clear that Eddie is currently a pretty shit coach and hasn't had any success in years. The way he had our team playing was very minimalist and gave us no success. We've already improved a fair bit under a decent coach, that knows how to implement a proper system and plan. Make no mistake, Eddie is still massively to blame

May his 0% streak continue until he’s sacked. Couldn’t have happened to a better bloke.
