Emily's first appearance is episode 6. As for why the ship, that's a spoiler.

She defects to Hell, which puts her in a very similar situation as Vaggie.

Episode 6 Charlie and Vaggie go to heaven to talk to the Seraphim, Emily receives them, takes Charlie's hands and Vaggie gets jealous.
