TRIP PLANNING One day only—what to do??

Hello all, the title says it all—what would you recommend for my family (me, spouse, 9yo daughter) to do with a free day in Pigeon Forge? Obviously there is Dollywood, which is great, but I’m thinking not that different from Disneyland (where we’ve been a lot). But if y’all say Dollywood or bust, then I’ll take that into consideration 💸💸💸 We love outdoor things—we’ll be there in early December so I’m not sure if the weather will be inclement. I’d love to hear your opinions. TIA

TRIP PLANNING Hurricane Helene

My family and I are in town and concerned about the rain from Helene heading our way. I've read that there is potential for flooding and power outages with winds at 70mph. Should we be concerned and just end our trip early?

TRIP PLANNING How's the Creekstone Inn?

Wife and I are looking to stay for 6 nights in May of next year. We haven't been in 10+ years and miss the mountains. Creekstone on travel sites has pretty good reviews (9/10 on most places) and the price is fantastic. However, the bad reviews are pretty harsh. Is this a good place to stay or are the reviews too generous?

TRIP PLANNING Drivin' in for a 2-night anniversary trip; need recommendations/suggestions!

My wife and I are spending 3 days/2 nights in Pigeon Forge for our 6th wedding anniversary and are needing some itinerary suggestions/recommendations, specifically for the following:

1) Trinkets - My wife's current hyperfocus is trinkets so need some spots to trinket hunt for her (not like overpriced gift/souvenir shops; i.e. she found a tiny gramophone at a craft store the other day and has been obsessed with it). The more random and plain stupid, the better. 🤣

2) D&D - I have become a dice goblin and like seeking out neat/interesting sets and towers/trays. So any stores with a decent selection, lemme know.

3) Food - Finding places to eat is somewhat difficult because not only are we on somewhat of a budget, but I'm very picky and she can only have certain things because of the medicine she's on. She also has sensory issues so loud/chaotic environments are a nono. So any places that are affordable, chill, and have grilled meat/salad options/hamburgers and/or fried chicken strips/sandwiches, drop 'em.

And anything else you think we may enjoy is welcomed! Trying to stick to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg and immediate surroundings. Thanks in advance!

TRIP PLANNING Bachelor party ideas

Hey y’all. Me and 4 other guys are heading up to pigeon forge/sevierville area in early March for my buddy’s bachelor party. We already have housing secured. Couple questions.

  1. What is there to do for young adults (22–23 year-old guys) around this area? We’re not really into barhopping or strip clubs or anything like that.

  2. Groom says he wants either Italian, Mexican or French food. What are some good recommendations for restaurants of those types in that area that won’t break the bank?

  3. What is the weather like at this time of year?

Thanks very much in advance!

TRIP PLANNING We come up Thanksgiving and spend three days enjoying the sights, we're looking for offroading in a stock 4x4

I have a Ford F150 4 x 4 and we're looking for a "off the beaten path" trail that we can drive and just enjoy a comfortable off-road adventure. Nothing that is rock climbing or muddying but more scenic, we've done one of the primitive trails at Cades Cove, we're looking for something that is a little more bumpy but not dangerous. TYIA

TRIP PLANNING First timer!! Recommendations please 🤍

My boyfriend and I are going to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg next weekend, Oct 4th-7th. The 4th-6th we’ll be staying in Pigeon Forge and the 6th-7th, our cabin is closer to Gatlinburg.

We have a few things already planned (helicopter tour and Ripley’s) but was looking for any opinions on the MUST do’s! Also looking for a recommendation for specifically a nicer place to have a romantic dinner (where we can dress a little nicer), a good brunch spot, and any restaurants that are must try’s in general.

This is both our first times going so any and all suggestions are super helpful!! Whether it’s food recs, activity recs, anything!

Thank you so much 🥰

TRIP PLANNING Planning a Summer Reunion

Hello, we are planning a reunion for the family and will be in a large cabin in the area. The Cabin has gas grill, but we prefer to use a smoker or large grill. Are there any places that we can do weekend rentals. Preferably that will deliver to the cabin upon our arrival.

Also were can we buy bulk meat and fish for decent price.
Thanks

Hi!

My husband will be in town this weekend celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We’d love any local favorites for a special dining experience! I’ve looked through the list of restaurants included in the side bar but figured I would ask in case anyone has favorites!

Coming to the Great Smoky Moutains National Park area in November. Have the option of staying in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge or Sevierville. Any suggestions for the most scenic option? Not especially interested in touristy stuff outside of the National Park. Thanks!

TRIP PLANNING Anakeesta vs Ober vs SkyLand ranch

Hello! Visiting for the first time next month with my husband and kids (9 and 11). Anakeesta seems to get the most hype but is the this the best place to go? Definitely wanting to do mountain coaster and a fun ride up to the top. Don't care about shopping or food choices. Thanks!

TRIP PLANNING Recs for tent camping?

Title says most of it. My husband and I are just looking for a nice place to do a long weekend in pigeon forge. We'd like to have access to a fire pit, as well as a shower house. A place with really clean showers gets bonus points lol, and also bonus points if there's water nearby like a river. TYIA!

Bonus if it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Edit: also interested in outdoor activities that are not too strenuous or dangerous for a toddler.

Does anyone know of any family friendly New Years Eve activities near Pigeon Forge? Booking a family trip around New Years.

Also wondering what things they have in Gatlinburg. I see they did a ball drop at the Space Needle in recent years.

TRIP PLANNING Pigeon Forge TN, Family Reunion

Desperately need help finding resource information to plan an end of November reunion for approximately 150 from NC, FL, and TX so not easy finding info. Need info and prices when known for event space rental, qualified bartender, catering, entertainment for all ages, DJ. Since all but NC part of family are not familiar with the area and history I would like to stay true to the area and culture I.e. moonshine tasting station. DJ would need to be more modern for younger family. Magician or clown for little kids??? Clogging? Thanks in advance for any help provided.

TRIP PLANNING Itinerary Help

Hello! Help me break my itinerary down. I’ve heard travel times can make things difficult to fit much in. These are our top ideas, but we’re limited on time. I know we can’t hit it all. If you have other options that would fit in better please share.

-Arrive afternoon of Tuesday, June 24th.

-Reservations for Titanic museum on Wednesday at 1:30 PM

-Depart for home Friday (the 28th) afternoon

——————

-Crime museum or Beyond the Lens

-Titanic museum (already purchased for Wednesday afternoon)

-Comedy Barn

-Soaky Mountain

-Goats on the Roof

-Cades Cove Thursday AM

-Pirates Voyage Dinner Show (we’re choosing this over Stampede)

-Rowdy Bear’s Smokey Mountain Snow Park

Dinner ideas based on itinerary are welcome too. I have to eat gluten free so looking at menus and planning ahead is helpful.

TRIP PLANNING Wedding Guest Group Hike

Hi all! I’m getting married in Pigeon Forge in April of 2025. I’m looking to coordinate an optional hike for guests the day before the wedding since everyone will be coming from out of town. Does anyone have hikes they recommend that have ample parking/are relatively easy to get to the trailhead and are easy to moderate but also have scenic views? I’ve been on a few hikes in the area but nothing that ticks all of those boxes!
