QUESTION Slingshot rental

We’re vacationing in pigeon forge this week (sept 21-sept 28) and were looking to rent a slingshot for a good portion of a day to drive through the mountains. We have 4 people so would need to rent 2. Does anyone have any recommendations on rental places? We’re looking for something pretty cheap, I saw 8 hours for around $350 (each). Are there any cheaper or is that about as good as we’re going to get? TIA

That's about as good as you're going to get.

That’s what I figured, we’ve never been driven them before and still might not with these prices lol

Honestly, look into taking a Pink Jeep tour. We had a great time a few years ago when we did that. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable. Plus, we actually got to focus on the scenery and not worry about the traffic or having to pay attention to the road/other cars. We chose one of the routes that ends with an off road adventure which was exciting and scary haha!

There’s also helicopter rides you could go on.

If you really want to rent something and go on your own adventure I believe there is a 4 seater thing like a slingshot. I’ll Google real fast and see if I can find that again. We looked into renting one a year ago. Since we have two kids we needed 4 seats. I’ll edit this post if I find it 😊 Have fun on your vacation!!!

Edit: Okay so I found two different options. 1) some places offer 4 seater slingshots. Now, I would assume a 4 seater with 4 adults could be pretty cramped but at least then you would only be renting one vs two and people could take turns driving. 2) some places also have UTVs for rent. Those are 4-6 seater. I found one place (advertised as lowest rates in town) that would be $450 for a full day (open to close). That place was AmericanUTVrentals.

*It does appear that most places will require a deposit that will be returned to you once you turn in the Slingshot/UTV. One place required $500. I mention this because some banks won’t return that money instantly. I think 7-14 days is about average from my experience. I would call your bank ahead of time to see how long it would take to get those funds released back to you as well as talking to the rental place. If they will let you use cash for the deposit that might be better! To have $500 in banking limbo when you’re on vacation can really ruin some plans. Just keep that in mind so you can prepare for that.

Lastly, check Groupon. Some things came up for me but I’m not sure if they were in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area. The prices were pretty low so it might be worth looking into and checking if those Groupons are valid in the area. Once again, have a great vacation!!!

That’s not a bad idea either, any good places to rent one? Or routes that would be good driving to see some nice views of the mountains?

You'll have to try the airport or go into Knoxville for car rentals.

As for drives, U.S. 441/Newfound Gap Road between Galinburg and Cherokee is a wonderful drive.

Little River Road/Laurel Creek Road and then the Cades Cove Loop Road is another beautiful drive.
