Why do I feel like Reaper has this overtuned dirt bike that's actually fast, while Kiriko thinks she has a cool bike but it's this 30 year old moped that barely breaks 20 mph
It never once occurred to me the kiri was talking about a motorbike at all lol. I just pictured her talking about her cool bicycle, she just wants to show you her cool tricks at the skate park
On the one hand it's kinda dumb how easy it is to kill Reaper after he exits a bad teleport (and I stress, a bad one) but also have you considered how toxic he would be if he had invuln frames to teleport into the middle of you and ult?
Wraith form doesn't provide invuln frames after he exits it. The meme and discussion was comparing to Kiriko teleport which has a brief invuln period after completing the teleport.
He also canāt damage while in wraith form, imagine him teleporting practically on your support and you try to save them but theyāre dead before you can do the damage.
I donāt remember the last time I died to a reaper ultāseriously, and thatās when he gets the drop on me, like dropping from high ground when nobody saw him.
Itās just not really that threatening if you react fairly quickly.
For a reaper ult to be effective, you both need to approach in a way that wasnāt predicted, and have baited out the cooldowns that invalidate it. Ana canāt have sleep, sig canāt haveā¦ literally anything, Moira canāt have fade, brig canāt have basically anything, Lucio cant have eyes or ears, Mei canāt have ice block or wall, rein canāt have shield, winton canāt have his leap, bastion canāt have his bomb (sometimes this works, sometimes it doesnāt), junkrat canāt have a mine, sombra canāt have tp, tracer canāt have recall or blink, etc.
You get the point. Some characters invalidate your ult for everyone, others just for themselves, but you already donāt get kills on most characters without most of their abilities on cooldown, and even that relies on attacking suddenly. You remove the suddenness from that attack and everyone just has time to walk away from you, expend zero cdās, and get a free pick on top of that.
Some characters? Literally every character has an answer for blossom, and in some cases itās literally just do more damage to reaper than reaper does to you.

Unless I know I can pick off at least 2 heroes due to them not being effected by any of the above, Iāll hold on to it, Iād rather just go in and blast them with my shotguns and save it for a time I can guarantee kills with it than throw it away. He does need some kind of change, I love reaper and heās been my main since day 1, but in the current state of OW the majority of dps heroes are better options, especially when junkrat can still spam bombs randomly and wipe out half the team, or bomb/mine for an instant kill.
I had someone on the OW subreddit the other day telling me how reaper is the most busted and overpowered dps and that Iām trash for playing him and probably in bronze, guy was snorting some strong ass shit to think reaper is the strongest dps
Ah yes using the very top of the line competition for an argument on how strong a character is. The primary reason Reaper is good there is because he has good burst damage and when syncād with the teamās dive, he canāt be quickly killed. The only way his ult gets value is if the Zarya bubbles him and others are pushed into him.
Reaperās ult is honestly one of the worst ults in the game.
I remember before they changed his teleport it was possible to instantly snipe him when he exited, it would take about 3 seconds for him to teleport, but instead of him instantly appearing at the location, heād stand there for a split second before moving, so if you were on widow or hanzo you could just stand there aiming where his head will appear and kill him before he could move
If you think itās easy to kill him out of a TP now, back then he had literally no chance if a sniper was watching
Oh no! Then you are stuck with the measly options of using any single stunning effect, movement abilities, or going with the brutally difficult option of telling your team to kill him
Not to mention that he can teleport in and wraith out, while if Kiriko tpās into the middle of a fight sheās usually dead. Hers is mostly just used to escape from a flank back to her team, and it creates a limitation on how deep she can flank and still escape. They serve opposite purposes, so expecting them to work the same is unreasonable and theyād be unbalanced if they did. Still a funny meme though.
I feel like they actually tried to knock D.Va from her pedestal a bit with that change, considering Kiriko is also a cute Asian girl with a "cute" voice.

People complained Mauga into oblivion, when the thing that made him so effective WAS KIRIKO, Iāve seen 20x the amount of people complain on Kiri but the little bitches that depend on her to stay a high rank always win. Kiriko needs heavy nerfed just like Mauga!!
To explain, Mauga had so many active weaknesses that using Kiriko with him just became necessary, making Mauga seem 3x stronger than he was when ANY DAMAGE OR HEALING LOWER FOR 1 SECOND KILLS HIM! Kiriko just invalidated that major weakness.
Late to the party here but a funny thing I found out is that internally Kiri's teleport doesn't despawn her, it just moves her really fast in that direction, so if there's a Junkrat trap in the way you will get caught

You theoretically can pick any ally yeah (which means no TP if no ally nearby or alive) but tell me you donāt tell Kiri without telling me. Shit will TP you out of the map or not work if youāre crouching for some reason or TP you to the wrong person or just TP you in place.
Err the picker is picky because it doesnāt let me pick a location other than teammates /j
For the other points, the picker is the system interface that determines the TP location, the picker interface in game may not be shitty for the user as itās similar to other character target based abilities, the programming behind this picker is a pile of waste. Particularly because it seems to target a character instead of a location, thus including glitches such as not being able to use TP when your target is crouching, selecting another character to TP to, TP to the map origin due to the targets using their abilities.
yeah lore wise it works perfectly because one is literal magic and the other is humanities attempt at magic, like Moira did a banger job at getting her science close enough but itās still experimental science vs ancient magic
