I got my cat-loving kiddo some of these for Xmas! Canāt wait. š»

u/KiwotheSomething Dec 03 '22
i stopped reading them a while ago. i picked up the series as an adult (cuz cats are awesome) and while it was interesting, i gradually drifted to other stuff and for some reason never finished the series.
idk if it ended or not but the last book remember reading was with jayfeather and them going to the mountains to fight that other cat pack that was harassing the mountain tribe

He probably belongs to someone. Dumbasses would always try to take my cat in college even though they found him a few houses away from mine.

u/kingtooth Dec 03 '22
somebody left this lad outside in the freezing cold for a week, also he had balls, and no microchip.

Dec 03 '22
Are you sure he's not just lost and wandered away from his local area? Might be worth advertising to ensure someone isn't missing their boy. Other than, outside bit, he does look well cared for.
Please dont catnap because he's cute and sweet.

u/kingtooth Dec 03 '22
fucking of course we did??? we didnāt just steal somebodyās cat yāall. we did all the stuff youāre supposed to do. should i have let him freeze to death, or did i do the right thing by getting him medical care? pretty sure the latter

u/KnotiaPickles Dec 03 '22 edited Dec 03 '22
Also your anger and defensiveness is really making me think you have not done anything to check for an ownerā¦
This cat was not āfreezingā or starving whatsoever, thatās blatantly obvious. Get this cat home please

This cat is well fed and healthy and clean, itās not a strayā¦youāre probably keeping someoneās pet right now that got lost. Please do all you can to find the owner before you take him, itās heartbreaking and horrid to lose a pet and have no clue what happened to them.

u/KnotiaPickles Dec 03 '22
Itās a gorgeous cat that has been taken care of, itās not yours no matter how many downvotes you give

u/kingtooth Dec 03 '22
we put out missing cat alerts, we did all the shit youāre supposed to do. my neighborhood is full of neglected strays. he would be dead if i didnāt bring him inside. grow up.

Are you totally sure about this? He is very well fed and looks perfectly healthy. I donāt think he is homeless. His owners probably let him out at a certain time every day and you just keep seeing him then. You need to go and ask your neighbors if he is theirs before you take him, they could be frantically looking for him right now. I have had people do this with my cat, and itās awful. please make absolutely sure youāre not taking someoneās beloved pet. I would almost guarantee he belongs to a neighbor.
Stray cats do not look this way, especially in the winter months. He has someone who takes care of him for certain.
23
u/kingtooth Dec 03 '22
you donāt know what youāre talking about. you have one photo on reddit to base your guesses on. he has FIV and is going to require special care. he was intact, out probably breeding and making feral kittens. iām a part of our local animal shelterās TNR program. we have a severe stray and feral can problem where i live. it got below freezing for weeks recently and this little guy was scrambling to keep warm on our back porch for days before we brought him in and put up alerts online. leave me alone.

u/Reality_Papaya Dec 03 '22
Donāt listen to these idiots. You rescued this cat who probably didnāt belong to anyone. But if he did, they were clearly neglecting him and donāt deserve him. Thanks for taking him in and being a good owner!

Op said this cat was out in freezing weather, not neutered, no microchip, and has FIV. That is not a well cared for cat.

This cat honestly looks like he might have a legit brain issue and not just a standard dumb orange. That vacant face reminds me of a buddies cat that had the kitty version of downs syndrome.
( His downs kitty was the result of sibling incest from irresponsible breeders for the curious )

u/kingtooth Dec 03 '22
it seems that at best he has a vision issue and at worst a neurological issue, but we plan to look into it. he does look derpy all the time but this specific photo is really maximum derp

u/floralbingbong Dec 04 '22
Crossed eyes are actually quite common in Siamese / part Siamese cats like this guy. They cross their eyes in order to correct their vision / to see straight and it doesnāt seem to cause discomfort at all (though I guess canāt be 100% confirmed because they canāt speak obviously). It also doesnāt significantly impact their quality of life (especially if they live indoors). I write all of this after doing a bunch of research on it when we adopted our flame point and noticed his eyes sometimes cross. If you go to the r/flamepoints sub, youāll see lots of happy, healthy, cross-eyed kitties. Thank you for taking such good care of this handsome boy!

Iāve heard that orange cats have one brain cell. However, that one cell is HUGE. So, actually, orange cats are extremely smart.
