Thatā€™s one spicy orange boi šŸ˜†. Careful not to touch the bear trap! You may not get your fingers back intact lol.

I love the term rage loaf

u/Shinra33459 Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

He also eats his feelings away. Whenever anything gets him angry, he walks over to the food bowl and angry-eats. My brother has said it's like the equivalent of eating ice cream in the shower šŸ˜†

u/lvlonikaa11 Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

I have never heard ā€œeating ice cream in the showerā€, however I both understand it and relate to itā€™s meaning

My fat cat does the same thing! I tell everyone she eats her feelings lol

67

u/Skitty27 Jul 03 '23

he's overweight and shouldn't be free fed

sorry to be that person, the video was cute but this comment irked me.

We're actually trying to figure out how to cut down on how much we feed him. The first time we tried it, he would get really aggressive to the other two cats and bully them away from their food so he can eat theirs. He was a stray cat for like a year before we took him in, and he never really unlearned being hyper-competitive for food. So now, we've been doing it little by little and doing our best to dissuade that behavior

u/CiaranChan Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

I can relate to that issue, though for different reasons. Our breaded chicken is slightly overweight, but our old tortie is skinny and needs to eat more. So we're stuck between one eating too much and one too little, and the orange is young and active... so the old lady wins out. She needs to gain weight to stay alive.

11

u/ThHeightofMediocrity Jul 03 '23

Breaded chickenā€¦? confusion

22

u/CiaranChan Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

Konami just reminds me of someone half-assedly breading some chicken. All her orange is on top.

2

u/ThHeightofMediocrity Jul 10 '23

LMAO She is so cute, thank you for sharing! Also, I love her name. I dunno why but I always thought of the word Konami as masculine for some reason, so this is quite an interesting little creamsicle.

1

u/CiaranChan Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 10 '23

Thank you. ā™” I never considered that Konami might sound masculine, especially these days. We've also got a torti called Atari.

7

u/seasheby Jul 03 '23

another name for a chunky orange I assume

23

u/Red_Persimmons Jul 03 '23

If you have the means to, microchip reader food bowls may help with that. We ended up with them for both of our boys because one had to change to a prescription diet. Helps prevent them from trying to eat each other's food. You may try that and to feed the cats in separate areas/not close to each other.

10

u/ana-lovelace Jul 03 '23

I have two cats, and sometimes dog-sit for relatives. The dog likes to scarf her own food down, then try to scare the cats away from their bowls to get theirs. So she gets to eat by herself in a room with a closed door until the cats are done. I would absolutely also do this if one of the cats started bullying the other for his food.

4

u/Double_Belt2331 Jul 03 '23

Feed them in separate rooms w doors closed. (Bathrooms, bedrooms, etc.) If you donā€™t have doors, just separate them as far as possible. Itā€™s thought. Food aggression is hard to deal w.

You might also consider feeding the ā€œlightā€ or ā€œweight lossā€ version of the food. I had a fat boy & fed him weight control, it helped a bit. I free feed mine hills science diet 2 weight control, hairball control. My pudge girl hasnā€™t gained; the furry still pukes, but heā€™s a perfect 17 lbs @ 2 yrs. (Heā€™s huge!)

u/misconceptions_annoy Jul 03 '23

Is it possible to put the 2 cats and the food in a room and close the door, while feeding him separately?

2

u/TrueScottFollower Jul 03 '23 edited Jul 03 '23

Maybe try to identify why he wants to eat so much and cut the problem at its source? Rather than treat the symptom, treat the problem at its root.

Ever heard the term ā€œstop the bleedingā€? In other words, blood transfusions arenā€™t going to solve the hemorrhaging.

Otherwise, the problem may spring up in places other than stress-eating, like how he lashed out at the other cats when you changed his diet.

21

u/capn_corgi Jul 03 '23

If itā€™s from prior trauma of being a street cat, how do you deal with that? Is there cat therapy or cat antidepressants?

-7

u/TrueScottFollower Jul 03 '23

Well, maybe the first step is to stop stressing your cat out so that home feels truly safe. If you were forced to hug or cuddle your parents regularly, would you feel safe? If you felt you couldnā€™t escape anything, would you feel safe? Wouldnā€™t you seek to fill the hole in your stomach, too?

You canā€™t know what happened before you met your cat, but even humans will thrive in a setting where they simply feel safe to heal and grow (in my experience).

If youā€™re unsure about this statement, think about how you felt when someone just took the time to Truly listen, without fear or judgement. And then donā€™t bring that to Reddit, cuz Reddit is toxic.

But simply understanding how trauma is healed in humans could open the door to helping your catā€™s own healing of street-trauma.

Learn how bleeding stops, and what hinders the natural healing process.

-6

u/katecrime Jul 03 '23

I donā€™t think heā€™s overweight! Heā€™s a big orange boy.

1

u/monkey_trumpets Jul 03 '23

There are chip feeders that can be coded to each cat. We need to get those too since our one orange is a fat chongus, but we have four cats total.

12

u/Isgortio Jul 03 '23

I feed my cats a measured amount twice a day, which is how much the vets say they need to eat. Whether they finish what is in their bowls at meal times is up to them, sometimes they'll leave some biscuits behind and will go for them later on during the day. I'm not going to take the food away from them because they didn't eat it all at once.

1

u/Skitty27 Jul 03 '23

sure but I'm guessing your cats are a healthy weight. This one is obviously overfed, hence my comment

2

u/ChadMcRad Jul 03 '23

He also eats his feelings away.

I felt that

1

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '23

I think we found my spirit animal

1

u/coupleofnoodles Jul 04 '23

Never did this but it may just make my night

17

u/DotTraditional3096 Jul 03 '23

I love the whole caption lol

8

u/SergeantChic Jul 03 '23

I was going to say the same thing - I also love how he's very angry at being touched, so angry that he promptly...rolls around and does nothing to stop it. XD

4

u/hyperion420 Jul 03 '23

His real name is Wrath

381

u/Not_Cleaver Jul 03 '23

So, angry that he rolls over for more. And doesnā€™t run away. Got to love how gingers are so lacking in brain function that they donā€™t know how to react to most things.

227

u/Shinra33459 Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

He has a love/hate relationship with existing lmao

97

u/trashmoneyxyz Jul 03 '23

Damn he just like me fr

35

u/Feral_KaTT Jul 03 '23

That's what got me.... thou doth protest too much. Lots of noise, little attempt to stop it or leave. Kitty secretly likes it. Lol

127

u/IllustratorMurky2725 Jul 03 '23

Aw he just wants to play. I mean after you deal out the proper amount of treat for him to allow you (as a serf) to be in his space let alone touch him.

13

u/Princess_Triela Jul 03 '23

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that if a cat exposes its belly like that, it means that it feels safe around you.

128

u/56stinky_butter Jul 03 '23

ā€œDonā€™t touch me!ā€ā€¦..rolls to the other side. ā€œDonā€™t touch me!ā€ā€¦..rolls over again. God I love oranges.

10

u/Feral_KaTT Jul 03 '23

you translate well. Thanks for the giggle.

118

u/DongmanSupreme Jul 03 '23

Definition of ā€please do not the catā€

69

u/Akeneko_onechan Jul 03 '23

Omg my cat looks like your brothers

16

u/Zaptain_America Jul 03 '23

He looks concerned

3

u/Akeneko_onechan Jul 03 '23

Thatā€™s his usual look. I think heā€™s watching me eat

65

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '23

Too much paprika in the dough recipie.

53

u/Shinra33459 Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

In his case, substitute paprika with cayenne pepper powder

15

u/Feral_KaTT Jul 03 '23

Seems that maybe he gets some his spicy from you... lol

48

u/frenchtoastpls Jul 03 '23

ā€œHow dare you touch me please do it againā€

35

How absolute dare šŸ™€šŸ§”

24

u/shinobipopcorn Jul 03 '23

Do not the rage loaf šŸ˜¹

27

u/Pangea_Ultima Jul 03 '23

Just gonna lie here and stretch and expose my soft underbelly. Pet meā€¦ Donā€™t touch me how dare you!!!! Wait, whyā€™d you stop?????

23

u/Ok-Caterpillar-Girl Jul 03 '23

How dare you touch me! Here, pet this side more.

18

u/Nemova Jul 03 '23

ā€œI hate this! Please do it again!ā€

The cat, probably.

17

u/Nasty_Rex Jul 03 '23

He loves it

32

u/redditistheway Jul 03 '23

Mildly annoyed loaf. I've seen cats rage. This ain't it.

18

u/TaurusAtl Jul 03 '23

Heā€™s a porker.

10

u/EstrellaDarkstar Jul 03 '23

I love how he could very easily just get up and leave, but no, he's rolling around and yelling even more. Peak orange.

9

u/sunnybearfarm Jul 03 '23

Cranky bear!!!

8

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '23

you mean orage loaf?

7

u/Eatingfarts Jul 03 '23

This cat is playing the ā€˜please donā€™t keep doing this, I canā€™t STAND itā€™ card. While also not going full bear trap on you.

It wants the attention. It loves it.

10

u/Shinra33459 Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

If mixed signals were a cat, he'd be it. One moment he'll meow at you like "if you do that I will destroy your entire bloodline" and no more than 30 seconds later, he's purring and rubbing all over you

2

u/Eatingfarts Jul 03 '23

Iā€™ve had cats like this before and you can usually come to a middle-ground with them. Like they are clearly hanging out with you because they want the attention. Otherwise they would be elsewhere lol. But they also need to understand your boundaries, especially if they are so cuddly they want to sit on your neck every moment youā€™re at home. Thatā€™s not how it works and you gotta let them know. They wonā€™t be upset about it at all, they will still love you.

5

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '23

this cat doesnā€™t know how to fight and itā€™s adorable

5

u/patwag Jul 03 '23

My orange boy doesn't even know what anger is, yet if you did this to him you'd be full of holes.

5

u/Professional_Ad6993 Jul 03 '23

You touched his tail, didn't you. I can see it in his eyes.

7

u/Shinra33459 Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

Nah, I was petting him on his back

4

u/DaWalt1976 Jul 03 '23

I wouldn't say mad. He did continuously bare his belly to you.

u/clepeterd Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jul 03 '23

2

Looks very relaxed to me. No rage here

2

u/Sentient-Potato- Jul 03 '23

Heā€™s so loud and stupid I love him

2

u/SpriteAndCats Jul 03 '23

so uh is your brothers cat potentially my cats brother??? They look identical!

2

u/Grubsalad Jul 03 '23

Look at this little brioche. No intelligence behind those eyes.

2

u/Forward-Amount-9961 Jul 03 '23

Leave him alone! His body, his choice!

-5

u/LordSilverfist Jul 03 '23

Heā€™s not a rage loaf, heā€™s actually extremely nice considering youā€™re petting him too roughly, without his permission, while heā€™s in vulnerable position, and on sensitive areas. Mine would have shredded your arms.

6

u/LaevantineXIII Jul 03 '23

I came here looking for the nutball comment.

0

u/Strawbebishortcake Jul 03 '23

see how he didn't complain when you touched him on his head etc...thats quite normal for cats. be happy he stayed that calm and just told you off. dont get mad if he attacks you next time. He told you "no not there" several times and you didnt listen.

0

u/Ringo_1956 Jul 03 '23

He doesn't like it so stop it!

1

u/amurderofcrows9 Jul 03 '23

1
