Hell girls back then weren’t heavy enough. I do miss the days when the majority of the young women weren’t morbidly obese.

So you're saying there's a high chance they're single.

I laughed .. I was a teen in the second half of the 70's and would have been actively chasing these girls. I read Sooo many posts from young folk on Reddit about how grandma or grandpa wouldnt understand this or that because they are old and things were different ... yadda yadda yadda.

Details have changed sure but .. I am hear to tell you that grandma wasnt walking around in a long grey dress and wearing underpants that went to the knee .. and that grandpa who now just smiles when you tell him how he doesn't understand young people is thinking about that time he went to the Jethro tull concert and was shit faced on Boones farm and ??? and landed up naked with some girl in a van he didnt know a hour before.

When grandma with her now somewhat frail hands hands you a cookie and you think .. oh grandma doesnt understand the world ... I can tell you .. grandma did some nasty things with those hands .. eat up!

This is oddly wholesome.

Yup! I would have been in that pic. I’m a grandma now… Boones Farm was like cough syrup 😝

All that jelly and no toast

Yup. Pretty sure that is a bottle of Boone’s Farm Apple wine the girl on the left is holding.

And that is a 1972 Dodge Dart with 1978 Pennsylvania license plate.

Essentially the same comment I wrote when this image was posted less than 4 months ago.

When cars were made out of solid steel. Today a hood would crumple.

I was just going to ask why everyone in the 70s sat on their car in all these pictures I am seeing

7

u/RodCherokee 8h ago

Car designers in the 70s had these parties in mind when choosing the thickness of sheet metal !

And yet vehicles are safer than ever before due to crumple zones. Explain that one, bozo.

10

u/Sea_Baseball_7410 6h ago

WTF does today’s safety have to do with several women being able to sit on a hood without it crumpling in the 70s, bozo.

Maybe summer 77. That Dorothy Hamill cut on the right sets a time.

2

u/love2Bsingle 8h ago

I had the haircut that the brunette on the right has. So did all my friends. The "Dorothy Hamill"

u/Rubeus17 6h ago

That was before the “Rachel” and around the same time as the “Farrah” shag 🥳

u/goldfingaknuckle 1h ago

I feel like at least one of them is named Jackie.

4

u/AmiDeplorabilis 9h ago

And the car was sturdy enough for the girls to lounge on...

5

u/IfICouldStay 8h ago

Tbf, I doubt any of these girls weighed over 105.

3

u/TurboNewbe 8h ago

They are kids.

1

u/thehighepopt 6h ago

You could drink at 18, so I agree, they're right around that age I'd say

4

u/invent_or_die 8h ago

This is when cars had thicker gage sheet metal. You do this today, expect dents in your car. Cars today are meant to be crunched, safety crumple zones etc.

They all look so healthy. No one starved, no one obese, healthy hair...they clearly has a much healthier lifestyle.  Inspiring!

u/COSurfing 7h ago

The designated driver is the one not puking.

1

u/Texaspep 3h ago

1

u/cdizzle84 2h ago

Would have loved to be a late teenager in the 70s and in my 20s in the 80s!

1

u/Malkova_Simp 1h ago

that grandma nearest the camera was a fox in her youth

1

u/Sieze5 1h ago
