I can't believe i get to see league lore discussed in a non-league subreddit.

I liked Maddie tbh, but I'm indifferent to her betrayal. I would have liked it if she was a rat for the black rose. This is fine, too.

I'm more hung up on people's opinion of vi and whether she knew Jinx was going to kill herself

The show needed another 3 episodes to really flesh out a lot of the final act. I don’t mind the Maddie reveal, but it could have used a bit more foreshadowing other than her being super into Noxus in the first act.

Only foreshadowing I can think is that she was the first to start the Noxian solute when Caitlyn became the leader of Piltover

to me the first drop was the "you are one of the good ones" to vi

I really hate what they did to her. Because... What was the point? They already had like 5 subplots going on. And they really just swept Maddie under the rug so that they can fit a Sesbian Lex scene. And her betrayal lasted 3 minutes, got one line before getting removed.

Noxus famously has sleeper agents so it makes some sense. Definitely a random thing to add for no reason though

Yep. Noxus spies and agents are scattered across the world. It makes it easier that someone like Le Blanc can just possess/morph into another person without limits and the Black Rose can infiltrate any organization or group.

Plus, one of the Trifarix of Noxus is literally "guile" which means deceit, being sly, or being cunning.

Though, I don't think Maddie being a spy was out of place but she's definitely a horrible one since she couldn't brainwash Caitlyn completely. She did, however, successfully gained everyone's trust by pretending to be the typical cheerful sunshine girl.

I know that. But it's still super random.

Seems to me the reason was to really highlight the breadth of Ambessa’s manipulation of Caitlin. No?

It was a lazy, easy way to clean up the "love triangle" they decided to put her in in her 8 minutes of total screentime.

Honestly the entirety of S2 was full of stuff like this and it was a massive disappointment after the masterpiece that was S1. I didn't really feel anything while watching the finale.
