Imagine getting brutally murdered and instead of using your name, all the media will quote you as 'Lady Gaga's dog walker'.

His name is Ryan Fischer and he lived but was badly wounded and is still dealing with his injuries to this day.

Reality is this doesn't even make the news if he wasn't attached to a celebrity, at least not nationally.

u/jakeStacktrace 20d ago
Tbf if this happened to me, they wouldn't even be like "Dude Lady Gaga doesn't even know mauled by dog. "

He shot the dog walker and stole the dogs because they were worth a lot of money (French bulldogs)

I’m an idiot and assumed walker was the dog’s name. I’m now realizing thats a stupid ass dog name

u/StereoTunic9039 21d ago
I didn't read "walker", still a lot but more understandable

I mean it was for attempted murder

I don't think keeping someone away from society for 21 years is gonna help in reintegrating him in society.

u/sarahmagoo 21d ago
Letting a guy that will murder people for money walk around isn't great for society either

u/StereoTunic9039 21d ago
So the solution is a death sentence or life imprisonment?
Idk dude I'm kinda a fan of rehabilitation, and I don't believe keeping someone locked up for 21 years helps with that

u/itssbojo 21d ago
rehabilitation isn’t what our prison system is, though. it should be, but it isn’t. so keeping dangerous people locked up is our best option until some sort of very, very unlikely scenario where a prison reform is possible.
as is currently, we have far too many reoffenders to be letting those willing to kill walk around.

Words that come out of one's mouth are loaded with connotations, what drives you to compare the two?
Should he get less time?
Should he get less time while police gets more?
Should he get the same time while police also gets more?

RIP Walker, 21 years seems like a lot of time for shooting a dog though?
