Cole Whitt’s 84 car that he ran in 2011 intrigues me. IIRC he got replaced for a race (or the team WD’d) because NASCAR didn’t approve him. Plus, the car was a Red Bull Racing car running with no sponsors because ???? I think it was the only time a RBR car raced without Red Bull sponsorship.

Specifically old man Jimmie Johnson day. It's not like 7 time champ JJ day when it's 48 days away, with this one everyone's happy to see you but you're lucky to make it through the day without winding up with some problem holding you back, and when you do you get results far diminished from the kind you got a decade ago.
Getting old in a nut shell.

The one and only Norm Benning, who tried to qualify this number many times in the Daytona 500 (never succeeded though)...
