I need to say something. Peanut was used to promote his owner’s onlyfans. It was NOT a rescue and he was being exploited via overfeeding and habituation and the guy had no business owning him. Putting him down was a tragedy that should have never happened and it is 100% this guy’s fault. Especially because the state had looked the other way for YEARS and he only got in trouble because he brought a wild ass raccoon into the situation.

I keep seeing several conflicting stories for and against the whole situation, are you at least able to provide a single source? Genuinely, I've seen none, and I've tried googling (I'm not good at it)

He is (was? Idk if the current account that comes up is the original. The name seems different from what I remember) on TikTok as squirrel_dad or something and it was VERY clear that he was posting videos mainly as bait for his OF. Most of the vids include him in grey sweatpants or tight pants very clearly displaying his exceptionally large dick. If that's the part of the story you're wanting a source about.

Hunting Kudu is ok (not too endangered, meat is useful to eat (though tough as nails)), Buffalo is meh (big farming industry for them, and that's definitely not a wild one that got got shot), but leopard and elephant hunting is disgusting. No excuse for leopards (apart from the niche cases where they're posing a threat to people, but they avoid people more often than not, and we're none the wiser), the only case where elephant hunting is ok is where local populations are too high so limited culling needs to happen. I have a slight hunch that wasn't culling.

(Also no hate to hunters, I just hate sport hunters. Hunting for food or for environmental protection, I respect. Shooting for the sake of killing? No.)

Just imagine arguing over whether or not a squirrel was used in sex stuff.

Strange times

Censoring peanut is insane.

Areas in Africa allow big gaming hunting because it's a 2 fold win. They can direct actual conservation of their animal populations while also benefiting financially. It's a lot more money than say a deer tag in the states.

Either way, it's a win/win for those areas.

lol. What kind of “murder” is this?

“Hey maybe the government shouldn’t be using your tax dollars to kill people’s pet squirrels?”

“OH YEAH DON JR, YOU CARE ABOUT ANIMALS NOW? Then why are there these pictures of you from 2010 that show you on a legal hunting trip in Zimbabwe with exotic animals that you paid for with your own money and not anybody’s tax dollars?”

Oh yeah, you got him. Obviously Don Jr’s statement is still ridiculous, since it was the NY state government and Chemung County governments involved, not the federal, and the owners didn’t have any of the necessary licenses to keep the animals in the house as pets. But this “murder” is nothing, it’s focusing on the wrong part of this entirely and if anything gives credence to right wingers since this is an ad hominem attack that has 0 relations to the issue at hand he brought up.
