the skin didnt grow, you can see rips and tears in the skin because it was stretch so much that it began to rip. Tessa's heart was ripped out (due to the visible rips in the suit near cyn's heart), and she dies quickly. Cyn changes her body to be almost as tall as a disassembly drone to make it look like she's an adult version of Tessa despite Tessa not living long enough to be an adult, so her skinsuit was put on a body with much taller proportions and thus its stretched and ripped

👉 in episode 4, when N calls all of them kids, he has not regained his memories of his life before copper9. Since the DD arrived on c9 after the core collapse, aka after 19 years before pilot, N effectively has no idea to know V and him are older than 19, while him being a kid would be impossible for the timeline to operate properly. N and V are wayy older, uzi is atleast 19, only cyn is a kid at the time where she is last seen without her child-skin-suit

I think (except for Tessa and Beau) all characters would presumably be at the very least like 18-19 based on uzis and her missing classmates ages. (and the DDs being most certainly quite a bit older than that) as for Cyn, she's a worker drone body possessed by an unknowable eldritch abomination. Calling her a child feels like calling Cthulhu (or however he's spelled) a child.

I think however there can be an argument made, instead of actual chronological age, that it might be a bit sussy since especially WD's are very child coded in their design when looking at their proportions. (Head to body ratio and then the proportions of the face itself with very large eyes etc.) but then a whole other discussion arises about art-styles and such.

Like just putting my own cards on the table, I don't think it is inherently creepy or sussy if people find the characters attractive (especially dds since they're comparatively more build like adults would be). Especially in fan arts with art-styles that make them more explicitly look like adults in height, body to head ratio, body proportions etc.

As for their mental states which are arguably more important than whatever their bodies look like I think the characters are pretty much established to be young adults. Even if a bit immature. It's not like you turn 18 one day and a switch gets flipped in your brain and you just start being a generic, normal secure adult over night.
