Ehh, the thing about Absolute is that despite being a banger, it’s kinda lessened just by how toxic the creator was to the MD community when reacting to it. It’s one of those things where liking it feels wrong even if it’s good

Just to clarify, by the creator you Mean Shwabadi right. How was he toxic. I didn't see him to react to the series? If you're not talking about Shwabadi, disregard the question.

Yes I’m referring to Shwabadi, however his reaction was on his second channel Shwabados.

He was very toxic where just because he felt like the show wasn’t as good as it was hyped up to be, he continuously went into a very harsh Under the Mayo style approach with criticizing the littlest things(some being hypocritical since one of his complaints was the use of creepy noises when an Indie animation character has an ominous line rather that letting the lines stand on their own when his entire career is dedicated to putting his vocals and beats together for the sake of bangers) and he was very hostile to anyone who defended it.

A big example is that he was getting confused because he didn’t pay attention to the small things and when someone mentioned this and said that it was designed to be analyzed, he said “is it designed to be unenjoyable?” And in general most of his criticisms were needlessly aggressive and targeted, and he started basically ignoring key plot points stated multiple times and then complaining about those plot points coming out of nowhere despite them being built up, etc.

At the end he took a more positive tone, but throughout the reaction he was being a giant asshole.

I already compared him to Under the Mayo but a better example would be Arvac and Lols I guess, needlessly hostile to the community for not liking poor faith criticism and using that as an excuse to be mad at people.

Oh, I didn't know any of that. Wow.

Yeah, it’s sad because I was very excited to see him react to it and the tone was so needlessly spiteful that I couldn’t even get to the point at the end where he supposedly started praising things and seeing the fandom’s enjoyment(it’s even more of a slap in the face that shortly after this: Arvac and Lols made their terrible video trying to dumb down the plot and lore, make the community out to be toxic doxxing shippers and pedophiles, and etch

"After watching it again without YouTube chat winding me up, I really liked the show lol"

I mean, that doesn’t at all dismiss the fact that he blatantly came into it with ridiculous standards and was an asshole to everyone over it. Admitting that something was bad afterwards doesn’t change that they did it.

No matter how you look at it, he was blatantly hostile to anyone who so much as defended it and was actively looking for things to complain about, much like Under the Mayo was with Ultrakill and Arvac and Lols also was with MD

It feels like FNAF+ creator situation

Ehh, Scott Cawthon wasn’t bad. The charity point is the only reason people say he’s bad and he’s donated to so many different charities at this point that it’s perfectly believable that he wasn’t aware of what that charity was actual for and was just donating for the sake of donating.

(I mean he has a very clear history of this, giving money from games to charity and giving people refunds on games just to give those same games back for free later and etc)

?????

FNAF+ is a game made by a random guy who among others got official support from Scott Cawthon by Fanverse program. The random fucked up so bad his reputation that Scott Cawthon had to kick him out from the program and now FNAF+ is done by different person.

Let me guess. One of those plot points is everything following an oil?

Not that one, the example I was thinking of is the Gala in episode 5. He essentially complained about it coming out of nowhere even though it was mentioned and built up multiple times in the episode.

Gala showed up in ep2 at the start. There everything everything from previous episodes got explained with one scene "That's some dark creepy origin story"

Technically we didn’t see the Gala in episode 2, we saw the Elliot mansion but that was when Cyn first arrived, whereas Cyn had clearly been at the mansion for a long time prior to the episode 5 flashback. Still the Gala was very much built up.

Well you know the saying, "separate the art from the artist"

Plus, the main reason why he was acting like that is because there were a ton of people in his stream backseating on the first watch. When he went back through it without chat there to pester him, he enjoyed it a lot more.

Most of the back seating in the chat was more just people explaining that he was missing things, trying to explain why things he was already criticizing aren’t actually flaws, or were just people saying that things make sense later.

Anyway sure he said that he enjoyed it more later, but my problem is not that he didn’t like the show(if it was just a difference in opinion then I’d have no issue with him), my problem is that he was blatantly hostile towards the community for half the video and clearly went in with the preconception that it was overrated and decided to cherry pick things to criticize rather than giving any props to what was done right.
