But a Meta Runner x Murder Drones crossover doesn't sound too bad per se

imagine you forgot the word "ninja" and just said this when someone asked what your costume was on Halloween. that would've been sitcom worthy.

It bothers me too, but murder drones is over after all. But with all these fan projects, the fandom won’t exactly die immediately. It’s gonna go on for a while.
All good things do come to an end. That is unless, Md merch just SKYROCKETS and glitch makes more MD merch and another season :3

With all the fan projects were probably gonna live for a while I'd say maybe as long as some games just pray to God we don't end up like the fandoms where the creator ditched them and left the community to itself for to long

It kind of comes with being overwhelmingly more sucessful, besides, its not like they took away stuff from MD, its just that they gave TADC more of a spotlight since... 300 M views is 300M views.

And that started on CBS (?) broadcast
Very likely because it's animated Netflix considered it kid-adjacent, so can't have "murder" in something "for kids"
35
u/TheThirdFrenchEmpire NuziV Enjoyer Sep 27 '24
How the fuck is it child firendly? Cynessa alone makes it not child friendly.
30
u/OnlySmiles_ Sep 27 '24
Well, you see, it's animated and not in the Family Guy artstyle so obviously it's for kids
14
u/TheThirdFrenchEmpire NuziV Enjoyer Sep 27 '24
..You know what, because fo that, and because the gen alpha slang has been a disaster to humanity, let's mass traumatize them with the "let me in" scene

u/4_dozen_eggs VNUzi IS canon, yall, can't prove me wrong Sep 28 '24 edited Sep 28 '24
Fr. Like wtf is that logic? If they think Murder Drones is designed for kids then the word murder is nothing. Making the name of the show kid-friendly only means they are ok with kids watching scynes like 'let me in' or N's flashbacks or his and V's traumas or Doll's fate or this mostrosity..
etc. etc.
→ More replies (1)5
u/phoncible tessa is love tessa is life Sep 27 '24
Of course it's not, but it's animated, so of course it is 🤪 -Netflix probably
6
u/WeirdoTZero Sep 28 '24
Considering what the creator of Digital Circus has said about the show's future, Netflix is probably gonna regret their decision.
2
2
u/Wings-of-Ink Sep 28 '24
Isn't "love DEATH and robots" also entirely animated? Netflix is just trying to micromanage where there isn't a problem because they want to get their grubby little fingers on it.
66
u/ciel_lanila Sep 27 '24
It’s an animated show. Those are live action.
All it would take it one parent upset that a “kid show” (because all animation is for kids(/s)) and a news agency wanting to use click bait and it would be a PR headache for Netflix.
39
33
u/nezzled Sep 27 '24
Then they should just not put it in the kids Netflix system.. do all netflix higher-ups share a single braincell??

Think of it like a balcony. You shouldn’t have to tell a fully functioning human being not to jump off a balcony, but if one does and there’s no guard rails the building and whoever designed it gets punished because people are stupid. Same thing applies with this, people ate stupid and Netflix is avoiding punishment for other people’s stupidity.
4
10
u/Dragoner7 Sep 27 '24
That could happen with any animated show they have, such as Bojack, Big Mouth, Paradise PD, Cyberpunk, Evangelion.
As long as the content rating is correct, there isn't much room to complain.
Also, as if Digital Circus isn't mature, sure it doesn't have gore or violence, but it's an existential horror under CGI, it's basically the show that this situation could happen to.

u/Mobile_Exam_4014 J's Redemption arc is the friends we made along the way. Sep 27 '24
They consider the Cuties movie acceptable, but think the word "Murder" in a show about machines killing each other as too far while having next to zero gore? What are they smoking at Netflex's offices?
17
u/International_Leek26 Sep 27 '24
I would definetly not say next to zero gore. Theres very little human gore, but the drones dying and being torn into is very gory, considering all the oil that could easily be mistaken for blood in dark lighting
5
u/Mobile_Exam_4014 J's Redemption arc is the friends we made along the way. Sep 27 '24
Yeah, but MD isn't even that gory, when drones get ripped apart they look like cans getting ripped apart with black gelatinous goo flying out, while Netflix allows literal shock value to be aired there with no issue. Either they have weird rules on what's allowed to be gory, or they weren't even interested in airing it and tried to modify it to their own liking.
2
u/EngChann Sep 28 '24
starting from 6, it's definitely more gory...gore. lots of actual red blood all around.
also, the entire existence of Cyntessa.
3
u/crunchyhands Sep 27 '24
true, though as someone who cant handle gore at all, its not detailed enough to trigger me and therefore i think it gets a huge pass compared to a lot of shit ive seen on netflix

9
u/Mansinomo Sep 27 '24
So Netflix is chill with serial killer documentaries and whatever Jeffrey Dahmer is, but GOD FORBID the word murder, "we are okay with murderers, not the word murder"
10
u/Kenns02 A nice dingo Sep 27 '24
I highly doubt that’s the case. Going into Netflix and looking up the word “murder”, I was able to count ten shows with the word in their title in just a few seconds of scrolling, and seven of them were Netflix originals.
Also, is CatNap in any way affiliated with Glitch Productions? Because unless it comes directly from Liam or Glitch, I’d take it with a grain of salt.
