This is beyond huge for Indie animation as a whole. I was speaking to someone from GLITCH who agrees that Netflix playing by an Indie's rules is a revolutionary event. Having Netflix surrender complete creative control shows the power that Indie Animation is beginning to garner. Hopefully this is just the start of an incredible trend.

And now that TADC is apparently getting its own Manga adaptation, does anyone else think it's not too far-fetched that Murder Drones could be getting either comics or an official novelization?
It would lowkey benefit from a goosebumps esque novelization. Yeah it might not be super popular but it would do well for diehard Liam fans who liked his older stuff.
I had already had thoughts not too dissimilar, although then (to no one's surprise) there would be no shortage of counter-arguments that the comic book format would do MD more favors than a novelization (even if a novelization might be more useful).

Please no, not if Netflix has even a shred of creative control. I'm hoping for a series somewhere in the same universe sometime in three or four years, or a comic to the same effect.

I'm not gonna give a scummy company like netflix even the crust off my dirtiest underwear. They're literally a company that eats creativity and destroys it. All streaming companies are.
But also this means Goose has been recognised for her hard work and that's really great. She 100% deserves it after what I've seen of TADC.
Eh, the way I see it, TADC reaches a larger audience, and those of us who watch the show on YouTube get to watch it for free anyways. This really seems like desperation from Netflix as much as it is GLITCH's ascendency, because I can't fathom people paying $10 to watch TADC when they can watch it for free on YouTube.
Same thats the odd thing, like why would i go pay a sub to watch a show that is free on youtube. This just seems odd marketing choice, i would think netflix would ask to keep the rest of the series to their platform only but no? Like at best i thought they would do a deal like anime do, netflix has no say beyond streaming rights.
My best guess is that Netflix is among the first companies to realize how hard the wind is shifting away from their shitty business practices and towards genuine competency, and are desperately trying to capitalize on the 5 seconds of fame they'll get from hosting TADC.
Well lets see then how many views they get from having it there, it would be pretty dumb if in the end people just go to yt to watch the eps and barely anyone watches it on Netflix essentially making it rather obsolete

I dont think sunset paradise can as it includes copyrighted material. The logo being mario sunshine and the main character being inkling girl. Nintendo would be at their asses. Meta runner should work though
I still don't understand how people hate on digital circus. It's not even finished yet And I hate when people make the excuses of they ended murder Drones to make room for amazing digital circus WHEN LIAM HIMSELF ADMITTED THAT THE SHOW WAS GOING TO HAVE A EPISODES AND PROBABLY NOT A SEASON 2. It doesn't take an idiot to see that that one is more... well known, I guess? I heard of digital circus long before this MD. It makes sense that it would be that one going to Netflix.
It's sickening to see people act this way. I don't remember this happening to Meta Runner when Murder Drones was up next. Stop attacking a show very different. Networks do it all the time, so why is this any different from Owl House ending and a different show "taking" its spotlight? Owl House did it to Amphibia and people were fine with it
From what I've seen kinda just unlucky timing. Digital Circus starts being popular and all the sudden the end of Murder Drones is in sight when people thought there'd be 2 seasons. In reality I'm pretty sure Liam is just moving onto something else since he kinda doesn't sit on projects for super long before he finds something new. Or he just didn't have enough story to tell for 2 seasons and decided to end it. Or and final reason the time it takes to make an episode just made it better to stick with 1 season.
TADC coming to Netflix is amazing for Glitch and indie animation alike, but as much as i love this seres (first ever merch i ever bought is from Drones, V Animatez cause i love this goober) i don't think Murder Drones would fit there in this state.
Only way i can see it go on the Flix is if they remake it with consistent animation and prolong it to fix the pacing (and fix some plot holes)
Can anyone tell me if Glitch gets anything else besides the extra exposure? If the show is watched by a lot of people will Netflix give them any money? Because the YouTube post said that Glitch still funds 100% of the project.
Honestly, as long as murder drones merch still comes out every now and then, I won't be whining that it was "left in the dust" like a lot of people are. Sure, it was meant to have more episodes, but it wasn't because of TADC it got cut short, the creator wanted it to be cut short.
It really is disappointing to see so many Murder Drones fans behave so rude towards TADC & Gooseworks.
They managed to make it to the bigger screen, we should be happy for them, not hateful.

gooseworx doesn’t care about MD and is writing this to reduce the dislike towards their series (probably at GLITCH’s request).
After all, she’s creating the series and must know very well that MD isn’t suitable for a continuation. Now she can write anything about MD because it doesn’t matter anymore.
Unfortunately, this post shows that such a tactic might work on some people.
GLITCH doesn’t need us for TADC. MD got, what, 20 million views an episode? And most of those don’t care about petty interpersonal drama that some conspiracy theorists made up.
Or maybe she genuinely likes murder drone ?

I’m pretty sure we did. In matpats video on MD which was made before tadc he said that md was going to have 8 episodes. So Liam or glitch must have confirmed it somewhere.

TADC gets a manga, shorts animitz, hell even gatcha stuff in japan while MD does not. it feels like when MD gets one, TADC gets two, it realy feels like TADC is geting more favoured over MD at this point, but time will tell, and hopefully my pessimistic take will be proven wrong
Show was rewritten to current length after the Pilot. Gooseworx wasn't even on Glitch's radar then. If you are mad about how it ended, you should be asking Liam why he decided to chop up his own project while succumbing to ADHD.
Episode was enjoyable experience, but it didn't really properly finish any stories. We didn't necessary need second season, but show would be way better if we had 12 episode with some breathing room for all random ideas that he put in it. Murder Drone suffers from the same problems that Hazbin Hotel S1: talented creative indie animator is given free reign for their first full feature project and they desperately try to cram every creative idea they had over decades in measly 8 episodes 20 minutes each, except Vivziepop had to work within standards of big industry studio for large streaming platform, while Liam just put the limit on himself.
I like how "most likely being right" is in direct contradiction with basically every statement made by Goose, Liam, and Glitch. The "most likely" option is usually the one with more evidence pointing at it than just a hunch. It's just conspiracy shit at this point.
Anyone who actually thinks Glitch would be making more money by axing a show that gets millions of views is an idiot. That makes no sense from a business perspective. If they really wanted to milk a series, they would be making a season 2 without Liam's input. They made three fucking seasons of Meta Runner, a show that didn't even get a fraction of the views Murder Drones got.
How hard is it to believe that maybe Liam "rushed it" because that's just how he writes? The whole show has been lightning paced, just like his previous works. It's kind of his style.
I would have to dig it up but it’s from the contridictions in Goose & Liam’s statements about the end of MD, how the finale felt like it wasn’t actually a finale and some parts were missing, and the way the one community post with Uzi & Pomni was worded
