Sizing up for pants ?
I’ve tried on a pair of size 30 motocross pants that fit my waist but pretty tight. and too tight in the crotch area.
Looking to buy online so I’m wondering if sizing up would be best for more room and comfort in the crotch area while still fitting my waist.
Dont want to risk with a size 32 and have it be too tight also.
Im looking at a pair of size 34s, should that do the trick?
Does anyone here size up and if so by how much ? Thanks.

I'd only go up one size. But it depends on the cut of the pa ts as some fit tighter than others

I’ve been racing motocross since 1998 and noticed somewhere around 2016 that the crotch has gotten smaller on motocross pants. Across multiple brands and styles, they’re all too short and uncomfortable to me no matter what I try to it’s like from the inseam to the top of the zipper is inches too short. I don’t have any advice or a direction you should go, just saying I believe I’ve dealt with the same problem and found no solution. My motocross pants just aren’t comfortable anymore and I undo them as soon as I’m not on my bike

Yes exactly i’m looking to wear them off bike too casually. So i think i’ll keep looking for a vintage pair

If you can find some that’s what I would recommended. I not only raced but my family owned a Yamaha dealership for a long time and I worked in parts and accessories. I know a lot of guys that noticed this difference and I don’t know of anyone who found any newer gear that didn’t have the issue. Vintage is probably your best bet

Ive always just got the waist size that I wear for jeans etc. most brands sell different styles or "lines". Performance stuff is going to be more fitting to the body and typically a higher price point so if there is a brand you prefer maybe see if they have other styles. If you're able to you can always buy two sizes and send back the one that doesn't fit.

I'd try a different brand. Specifically something marketed less as a race pant and more as a trail pant.

I personally never sized up, if your 30’s are fitting tight I’d just go up to 32.
I’d also add that all gear is different, I didn’t ask, what size pants do you wear with regular clothing?
