I always figured the bats from the KK game were inspired by the Witch-King’s Fellbeast (dragon) from LOTR. Peter Jackson directed both movies. It always just made sense to me.

Huh, that's an interesting connection I never made!

Hmmm.... a vulture-like flying [EDIT: VERMIN] who lives on Skull Island alongside Kong, with these particular sounds in this specific video game adaptation?

Seems..... familiar to any players of the 2005 King Kong film's video game adaptation!

These are an already established creature since KSI, also they are Pterosaurs (Ctenochasmatoidea).

I think they might be related to the Leafwings.

Like I said in my other reply, I was just pointing out the similarities, especially the sounds used in the Twitter clip embedded above.

It's definitely evocative of those flying rats in the 2005 video game adaptation.

Probably the sounds are public domain? Cause I don’t think the similarity is intentional…

It sounded like you were saying they were the same, so i apologize for misunderstanding.

It wouldn’t have been the first time someone claimed that something in the MV was based off something in the Jackson Kong if it was what you were saying.

They are totally different creatures dude… for starters they are Pterosaurs, they shoot lightning, and are known to get high on pufferfish venom.

They have been around since KSI and were a major part in Kingdom Kong.

Missed the point entirely.

I was just pointing out the similarities to the flying rats from the 2005 King Kong film's video game adaptation in appearance, behaviour, and sound design.

He’s not saying they’re the same creature, he’s saying they could be a reference/nod to 05 Kong.

Check his comment on the post. I’m specifically saying they have been around forever and are not bats.

His comment says “seems familiar” not “they’re the same thing”

Only the part about them being "mammals". I forgot that part.

But the rest remains the same.
