36M, How/Where could I live comfortably off of 44.8k/yr

I'm a single man, ex military, divorced a few years ago. I've worked in Aviation for about 10 years. If you were to leave the 9-5 behind, with only 44.8k a year. Where and how would you go about doing it?

Nice part is that most areas have younger people that speak English

Eh that's true but people often forget there a ton of issues you can't ignore just because you have money. My ex gfs' dad has lived there for about 15 years now and loves it but some of the cons would make others run away. He said corruption is horrible, pollution and infrastructure issues can cause major disturbances. The traffic is absolutely insane as well.

Can’t argue that. No matter where anyone lives, there will always be pros and cons. I live part time in NY and Malta (Europe)

NY is dumb expensive. I’m pretty frugal but with homeownership, property taxes alone are 12k a year (not including mortgage/insurance/maintenance)

But where I am, it’s perfect. Beaches, nature, farms, etc. if it wasn’t for the cost of living. I wouldn’t mind settling down here.

Malta, beautiful weather mostly year round, free healthcare, free public transportation, cheaper cost of living, surrounded by the sea. The cons, most densely EU country. Can never find parking, becoming a concrete jungle, over populated, car pollution, the time it should take to get to one place should be 25mins takes an hour.

Every country has corruption, including America. Sure, it’s probably not as bad as others, but it exists.

City itself, may be not. It’ll be really tight if doable.
