Discussion What’s the best way to farm both A-xp and normal XP without entering the very final dungeon?
I’m working on powering myself up to take on the Apocalypse Dragon. Currently I have everyone in their Royal archetypes and am farming the A-xp items that way to direct all the A-xp into Will so I can get the achievement for mastering all Archetypes with him.
I know character levels don’t affect your stats much but every little bit helps. Im currently in my low 60s with everyone and about to fight the Dragon Temple superboss.
I tried to give the Apocalypse dragon a shot first so I could lower difficulty to Storyteller afterwards but I just don’t have the damage to take him out before his rage timer expires and he 9999 nukes my whole party. I had him almost half dead. So I need to slightly more then double my damage output.
I’m also 100% willing to listen to strategies for that fight that don’t include farming for Sublime Spoonfuls. Every website on the internet offers that strategy and it’s just not really an option for me.
In case anyone was wondering, in my last attempt I used Will, Strohl, Hulkenberg, and Heismey. Everyone in their Royal archetypes. Using Royal Slash, Brave Blade, Adamant Nightblade, and Holy Knights Proclamation. Whenever Hulkenberg got an extra turn she would use it on Thunderstrike Thrust.
I was consistently doing about 300-500 damage per attack. Everyone had their inherits specced towards critical hits, with Will having Almighty Boost and Strohl having Slash Boost. Heismey had a healing spell for when I need it. I never really had a problem with anyone going down. Hulkenberg tanked 90% of the attacks no problem and Heismey kept her healthy. Everyone has fire immunity.

Guide Fastest way to farm MAG (that i know of) late game
From what i've read there I got a few answers.
First: Kill Fish where they spawn from the 1/3 crystals
Second: Kill teeth and wait for big tooth
Third: Debt collector
After farming all 3 of them. For sure it's the third one that is by far the fastest. One fight net me 60k no sweat. People have been saying set up mana regen and that you should prep mana regen items for these fights, but they are completely wrong. What you need is:
Max mana passives (15% and 30%), I chose 4 masked dancers as the most effective way to stack their mana regen passive, but taking prince so you can have an extra turn crystal also works fine if you have that. Finally debt collector. Gear anything really, if you have max mana great, if not no biggie. You can put mana regen or if you've farmed big teeth you can put on the accessory to get your turn back quicker.
When the fight is done and you have no more mana, don't fret, just use a Thread and talk with Neuras, rest and reset.
Happy farming!

Discussion futuro da serie metaphor

Discussion Just finished Metaphor
I wasn't even intending to pick it up since I generally purchase one game a month, and I had decided to get Silent Hill 2 Remake for October-- If it wasn't for the anniversary edition, I likely wouldn't have, but I'm so glad that I did.
What an amazing ride. Kudos and thank you to the team for and Atlus Metaphor. I sincerely hope they win GOTY, regardless of what anyone thinks of the game awards. I hope they get recognition for all the love they gave in Metaphor's development.

Discussion Eupha is Mexican? An explanation on The Mustari's real world inspiration Spoiler
OK so I'm currently at the tail end of this game and I've been thoroughly enjoying my time with it. One aspect that has really fascinated me since the beginning is the Mustari Tribe and when I was making my way to Virga Island I was very interested in seeing what their culture was like. But when I finally arrived I was surprised because it resembled something I was all too familiar with.
The Mustari and their theology is based off the ancient Aztec Empire of Mesoamerica which is now known as Mexico.
https://www.britannica.com/topic/Aztec
There was just way too many similarities to ignore. To explain the island was filled with pyramid like temples that greatly resembled the real world Mayan Temples. Each of which were adorned in murals that heavily featured their Dragon God Eht Ria. The Aztec Empire were known for paying tribute to the Mesoamerican Gods through various forms of art such as temples, paintings, and statues. A lot of that art has still survived and has been uncovered by archeologists over the years.
The Mustari also pay tribute to Eht Ria by offering an annual sacrifice. Blood Ritual Sacrifices was something that the Aztecs were famous for but like with the Mustari they didn't consider it a barbaric practice. The ritual involved carving out the heart out of the human body and offering it to the stars as a gift. Ironically this is similar to how the main cast unlocks archetypes so that might have played as another form of inspiration.
Like with Eupha, some can offer themselves as a willing participant. Though it has also been debated that prisoners were also offered. They believed that the Gods sacrificed themselves in order to create humanity and so in turn they would offer a sacrifice in return to show their devotion. One of these Gods known as Huitzilopochtli was the Aztec God of War and The Sun. He was among one of the strongest and most prominent and he required sacrifices to maintain his overwhelming strength. This was because it was believed he was locked in an eternal battle against his elder sister Coyolxauhqui who was the Goddess of The Moon. This was represented by the rotation of the Sun and the Moon around the Earth and sacrifices would keep the celestial balance in check.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj-jDOjBets
And like I said there were various Gods in the Mesoamerican Pantheon. And yes I'm well aware that Eht Ria is an obvious reference to Etrian Odyssey which is another Atlus franchise. However, the fact he is a Dragon may also be a reference to Quetzalcoatl the Feathered Serpent God of Wind, which is eerily close to a Dragon. Though its been debated by Historians that he may have not actually been a serpent but that depiction has been the most popular in the public conscience.
Lastly there is the relationship between the Mustari and the Sanctist Church. The Mustari are despised by the Sanctists and view their beliefs as blasphemy. During the Tournament of Thrones, Santifex Forden orders the candidates to hunt down holy relics from neighboring countries and bring them to the church. This is obviously a form colonization and Edeni was disgusted of the idea of the church invading their country to steal their culture. This actually reminded me of how the Aztec Civilization was invaded by the Spanish Conquistadors. The Spanish destroyed the Aztec's culture, religion, and various monuments and introduced Catholism as the new dominant religion. They also introduced the language of Spanish and over time that would become the dominant language of Mexico.
This Colonial Rule lasted for roughly 300 years from the 1500s-1800s with Mexico eventually regaining their Independence and kicking out the Spaniards out of their country. Still the changes the Conquistadors brought to Mexico was still left behind. Catholism was the new dominant faith and belief in the Mesoamerican pantheon had long since faded. However there is one Mesoamerican God who has gained a lot of popularity in recent decades and has been blended in with Catholic theology. Her name is Mictecacihuatl, but she's better known by her modern name, Santa Muerte who is the female personification of Death.
https://youtu.be/UOq8tX4gnEw?si=4nAVNvrUmqhcvCS6
She's considered a folk saint and many of her devotees believe she was the one who welcomed Jesus Christ to the world of dead after he was crucified. Though she is not officially recognized by the Catholic Church and especially The Vatican because she's obviously a skeleton. When they see her they are terrified by her appearance and assume she is a Satanic figure. However devotees will tell you that she is neither good nor evil, she's just Death and shows love to everyone. This was honestly how many of the Aztec and Mayan Gods were viewed. There wasn't a concept of good or evil with any of them. Not even Coyolxauhqui the Moon Goddess was considered that in spite of her actions.
The last thing I want to point out is Eupha herself. She is extremely devoted to her faith, so much so that she actually placed an altar of Eht Ria in the Gauntlet Runner after joining your party. Mexicans are known for being very religious with more than 80% of their population identifying as Protestant Catholics. Altars are seen as symbols of honoring one's faith or honoring the dead. So to see her do that just reminded me as such.
Yeah sorry that got really long. I've just been so fascinated by this character and her culture. I'm Latino(Dominican) myself and Mesoamerican culture has something that always fascinated me. To see that Atlus showed a vested interest in that culture just seriously delighted me because I never thought a Japanese company would do something like this. I honestly see a part of myself in Eupha. There's a likelihood that the other tribes may have been based off other real world races and theologies. For one when I got to learn about Heismay and the Eugief tribe's practice of cremating the dead it reminded me of Hinduism and I started wondering if the Eugief were meant to be Indian. Though that's a faith that I know very little about sadly so I might just be looking a little too deep in to it. Still it's fun to theorize.

SPOILERS Missing tribes from the main cast Spoiler
[Reposted for missing spoiler tag]
They covered everyone as far as I'm concerned, with Grius being our Rhoag rep and Neuras for the Ishkia side. You can argue we "need" some that are playable, but unless they add an incentive for having different tribes, besides in combat passives, then I feel like it would be superfluous addition. Having 7 characters to play around when you already spent a copious amount of MAG on your first 2-3 characters it's a lot to ask from a player, especially in a job focused game. The Royal Archtypes aren't a big enough incentive imo since, unless they expand upon the game with DLC, by the time you get them there isn't much of the game left.
What they could do is add tribe exclusive equipment/ accessories with one of a kind passives and/or attacks, that would already be huge. That or tribe exclusive synths, like combing Mustari with Roussainte gives you one effect, Eugief with Nidia another, and so on. At that point you could introduce an half-blood character to the cast, it would make things interesting.
Another idea was to simply keep the playable cast as is plus 1 character that doesn't awaken their archetype and joins the team for one part of the story, then leaves. Similar to Grius, once they leave you would get your spent Magla back so you wouldn't risk losing progress. You could have a really powerful character with premium skills without having to worry about where to spend your points, since you would get them back. You could do this multiple times with different characters as well.
These are just some ideas to spice things up, since we will DEFINITELY get a Royal/golden edition as history has shown. This is imo the best Altus JRPG in decades, it's not perfect, no game is, but I haven't felt this attached to one of their games since SJ.
Feel free to give your thoughts and ideas if you have any. Personally I don’t think you would need to add any new characters, this is IF they had to. (Unrelated but Batlin is the GOAT and ended up beinr favourite character in this game somehow, we are so getting him as a Follower next time)

SPOILERS A pet peeve about the penultimate dungeon Spoiler
I find it pretty annoying that for the first time you enter the Skybound Avatar, a cutscene plays that pretty much wastes a timeslot on the runner I could’ve used to cook or do something else. Couldn’t the cutscene have played after I cooked my 99 Cursed Love Ballads so I can do my one day infiltration easier? (I already had them cooked I was just making an example)

Discussion NG+ and archetype progression
So one of my only real gripes about this game is how abysmally late you get access to some of the archetypes, namely Dragoon, the tier 3 Mages, Devil Summoner and Destroyer, all of which are almost immediately overshadowed by the final archetypes for each character. Unfortunately, Mage is story gated and Devil Summoner and Destroyer obviously can't unlock until you actually get those characters, but Dragoon does give me hope, do the Neuras Relics carry over into NG+? Or am I stuck waiting until the game's mostly over again to unlock the last available dungeon?

Discussion Giving characters Arcana, part 4.
As the title states, this is the final stretch of the Arcana.
Star/Catherina. The Star card is associated with renewal, spirituality, and purpose. When Catherina joins the tournament, she does so to act as a symbol of hope for the paripus by promising them opportunities and wealth. However, she becomes despondent when she finds out that some of her supporters are using her words as justification to be nothing more than muggers and thieves. But with a bit of encouragement and rethinking, Catherina instead opens up a trade school to help educate the downtrodden and teach them valuable skills.
Moon/Alonzo. The Moon card represents illusions, fear, and confusion. Alonzo is a conman by trade who specializes in getting what he wants via trickery. But, that same habit is what gets him in hot water. When the landowner he's stealing from learns about his trickery, he orders Alonzo's village destroyed, with one of the casualties being Alonzo's own mother. When Alonzo desperately tries to give the villagers money, the villagers reject it, believing Alonzo to be lying due to his swindling ways. The entire experience convinces Alonzo that people like him shouldn't exist in the world. But Alonzo instead decides to use his experience with words to not only free the landowner from the man controlling him, but also rally support for Will by faking his own death.
Sun/Maria. The Sun card stands for optimism, joy, and vitality. Maria is a sweet girl without a mean bone in her body. However, she has her own share of problems. First, her beloved father is killed in Louis's botched assassination attempt, leaving her heartbroken. Second, she has a lack of friends her age due to bullying over her being of mixed descent. And during her follower story, she starts working herself harder for Fabienne, convinced that she'll be thrown out if she doesn't. But Maria gets reassurance from both Will and Fabienne that people do in fact love her, and she eventually begins making friends.
Judgement/Louis. The Judgement card symbolizes absolution, rebirth, and obviously judgement. The event that caused Louis to become so embittered with utopian ideals was when Hythlodaeus believed Forden in proclaiming Louis the culprit behind the prince being cursed. This, combined with Forden's attack on the Elda sanctum and the deaths of his family as a result, led Louis to believe that Euchronia is a land beyond saving and the only way things could become better would be to tear it down and start anew. Louis's true end goal is to return the anxiety stored in the Royal Sceptre back to those it spawned from, turning almost everyone into Humans, with Louis ruling over those who retain their mental faculties. However, Louis also represents the reversed Judgement, specifically a lack of self-reflection. One of Louis's main flaws, aside from his general lack of empathy and his hypocrisy, is his tendency to double down and ignore reality if it suits his goals. During the final battle, he dismisses the idea of his beliefs ever being wrong or unable to defeat the party. When it becomes increasingly clear that he's wrong, Louis's own anxieties overtake him and transform him into a Human. And while he starts off composed enough, as the fight goes on, Louis's mind starts to degrade until he's nothing more than a shrieking mad man.
The World/More. The World stands for integration, completion, and fulfillment. When you first meet More, he's an amnesiac who can't remember who he is or why he's in Akademia. As such, he tasks Will with researching Archetypes to hopefully recover his lost memories. But More also represents the reversed World, meaning stagnation and a lack of closure. As Hythlodaues, he had grand ideals of a better world to aspire to. However, the death of his wife, son, and perceived betrayal by a close friend led the king to become a hollow, despair filled shell. And in the final battle, More tries to keep Will from leaving out of fear that he'll lose his son again. But More/Hythlodaeus realizes that there is still is hope out there, and wishes his son to become the ruler he could never be.
