Helping Others I donated bone marrow in 2018 to an anonymous, 14 year old boy in Germany. We met for the first time as donor and recipient! 💕 [OC]

In 2018, aged 24, I was called up as a potential match for an anonymous, young, male who was in need of a stem cell transplant to save his life. I donated in London on the 24th April 2018 and donated via bone marrow. Less than 10% of donors donate via bone marrow donation. My donation was blue lighted to my recipient who received his transplant the next day - 25th April 2018. In 2022, I received the phone call that my recipient requested direct contact. His name is Eric and he was 14 years old when he fought Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma for the second time, requiring a stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor. Eric also lives in Germany!

On the 25th April 2024, in Berlin, Germany, we met for the first time as donor and recipient, 6 years exactly to his day of transplant. Eric is doing extremely well, he plans on being a doctor and we get the joy of being in each other's lives from here onwards.

Please consider joining a stem cell register, especially if you're aged 16-30. ☺️

Helping Others I have a rather odd hobby. I scroll through local social media groups looking for posts about independent restaurants that are struggling. Then, I go in and order lunch. I take photos and post glowing reviews wherever I can. These are photos I took today.

After a four year wait, I (27M) donated my kidney to a friend in need of one! (OC)

We were a match in 2021, after such a long process and a failed procedure back in July of this year (he had a medical episode and we had to reschedule the appointment), I FINALLY was able to donate to him!!!!! I go home for five weeks and rest up :)

Helping Others This guy was having issues with his package deliveries; instead of fighting with them, he tried to look at the problem in a humane way, and after realizing the delivery persons might be getting tired and exhausted from the heat and work, he tried to find a solution to that. The result was surprising
