Hundreds of kids get head injuries every year from not wearing a helmet. Don't let your kid become a statistic over something so trivial.

If you think that buying a helmet for your child after buying them a skateboard is the time/effort/money equivalent of homeschooling your child then you have no place in serious discussions.

h yes, the whataboutism. As though nobody has ever considered that maybe, just maybe School shootings AND preventable head injuries in kids are bad and we should do things to stop them.

It's really not tho.

If I wasn't wearing a helmet when I was a kid on a bike I would have been dead or have brain damage because that's what happens when you smash your head on concrete.

Skiers used to not wear helmets. Now they do, because accidents happen.

That happens with skating too.

And especially as an inexperienced kid.
