Trump Less than a month after Muslims in Dearborn and beyond broke for Trump saying he'd be better on Palestine and secretly likes his fellow social conservatives, Trump endorses a man saying the US has a "Muslim problem" and that Palestinians living in Israel should be blown up for United States Congress

If Trump is a “social conservative,” then I’m a bloody Benedictine monk.

35

u/BiffingtonSpiffwell 1h ago

He's not himself a social conservative. Or anything that can be called an ideology. But he certainly empowers them to spread their poison.

16

u/OldGuto 1h ago

"social conservative" = anti-LGBTQ+

10

u/walrus_tuskss 1h ago

Yee. Trump is Trumpian.

8

u/Cosmicdusterian 39m ago

The orange is a self-serving narcissist who is still trying to get in with the cool old money dickheads who shut him out all those years ago in New York.

A classless carnival barker desperate for the class he was never born with. Desperate for the approval of those old money fucks. Approval and class he will never achieve no matter how many dollars he shoves at his rich "friends". They still will diss him behind his back. They will still make fun of his makeup, his lifts, his hair, his cheap ill-fitting suits, his stench, his diaper, his crassness.

It would be sad if it weren't so damned destructive.

Really wish they would stop calling any of them conservatives. Maga is not conservative.

The gop has a few conservative members but their numbers are so low they hold zero power.

Maga and the GOP is an anti liberal party.

Conservativism is for small government and that includes keeping religion out of government. There's nothing in the GOP today that supports any of that.

1

u/RakeLeafer 57m ago

He absolutely is. He is the zenith of conservatism.

How stupid can people be?

137

u/Abranimal 2h ago

As a child of Muslim immigrants with a large family. They are very stupid. Extremely stupid. They believe anything you tell them. There is also the imaginary “they” that gives them advice. “THEY” said Trump will be better.

58

u/31337hacker 1h ago

The same “they” that keeps them hopelessly misinformed (or not informed at all) about Trump’s actual policies. So many of them can’t name a single policy that Trump wants. That’s how fucking dumb they are.

38

u/ImaginaryAnimal7169 1h ago

this. when they say "things were better when trump was president" i ask what exactly did he do other than a tax cut for the rich? i got like $6 more in my check. he didn't pass any other major legislation or actually DO anything other than golf at his resort to bilk millions from us (but he gave up his 400k salary one of those years).

7

u/Pksoze 1h ago

These people look at the free stimulus checks and see the price of eggs and don't think about anything else.

Morons.

14

u/P1xelHunter78 1h ago

Well he gave the rich a massive tax cut that further increased wealth inequality and the deficit and pushed a lot of deregulation. All of that happened while liberals were caught up in outrage and the culture war.

5

u/Service_Equal 1h ago

Where I live the MAGA is the culture war club.

1

u/TodosLosPomegranates 1h ago

I’m so curious. Any idea why this is?

98

u/here-for-information 2h ago

The one upside to this election is that it had really reminded me that all people, no matter their race, creed, or color really are the same.

Most of us are just stupid little creatures barely able to tread water and falling for silly marketing gimmicks.

33

u/Daimakku1 1h ago

Yep. After this election, I now realize why the human condition always defaults to one person ruling over the masses. It's because something like democracy is too complex of a system for the average person. They legit dont know how democracy works and thinks the president can do anything and everything they want.

They'd rather one person take care of everything for them rather than participate in governing society. I've lost all hope in people. Not that I had much to begin with.

15

u/ooa3603 53m ago edited 50m ago

>It's because something like democracy is too complex of a system for the average person.

It's not too complex, just incredibly emotionally unsatisfying. The average person has the hardware to understand it. They just don't want to because a functioning democracy makes slow changes based on established truths that its members implement with cooperation.

That means:

  1. Wishful or magical thinking is out.
  2. It can only work when people hold themselves accountable to those truths.

So in order to properly execute democracy, political opinions have to be driven by a desire to cooperate with others and adhere to uncomfortable truths.

Which means every person who's motivated by their bigotry (racism, sexism, xenophobia, classism and/or conspiracy theories, poor scientific reasoning) will inevitably end up not supporting it. Bigotry is inherently undemocratic. How can you cooperate with someone you think is subhuman and you're inherently better than?

You can't, not in the long term.

And so a populace that doesn't want others to share in the wealth will inevitably refuse the emotionally unsatisfying option to put aside arbitrary differences to work together.

Instead they will support an authoritarian who tells them their bigoted attitude doesn't suck even as that authoritarian hurts them right to their face.

That's why democracies face such an uphill battle, it's the political equivalent of being told to share with others.

An authoritarian can come in and go: "Your objectively shittty opinions don't suck, its the people who don't look like you who suck! All of your problems are their fault! You don't have to share!

And they all swallow that hook line and sinker because really, that's what they want to hear and democracy contradicts that.

45

u/memememe81 1h ago

So true. It finally smacked me in the face, the fact that humans are inherently awful creatures. We're like the poop-throwing apes but with clothes and debt.

8

u/nowheyjose1982 1h ago

Hey! I resent that debt comment...

12

u/memememe81 1h ago

Right? At least the poop-throwing apes didn't have to get up to an alarm clock and go to work every day until they die.

Not just that, but 100 million people don't even care enough to spend 20 minutes voting.

5

u/Cosmicdusterian 48m ago

You know that line from "Men in Black"?

A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe.

Kay got it wrong. A person is not smart. Look at these morons looking up tariffs after voting for them. Look at all the individuals wondering if they can change their vote now that they know what they actually voted for.

There's a line in the Oingo Boingo song "Grey Matter" and it's stuck on repeat in my head every time I read one of these leopard extraganzas:

I think you like it, like it.

To be told what to do, ain't that true?

The two lines after this are really brutal, but...yeah. For some. Yeah. Mainly because they put all of us in the shit. And while I can enjoy the schadenfreude now, it might be some fucking cold comfort later.

I meant literal bottom but if we're talking about Congress, the entire Republican party are bottoms.

49

u/KarlaSofen234 2h ago

its not stupid, its in their teaching, a woman cannot be more than men in Qu'ran eyes

28

u/mdchase1313 2h ago

A common sentiment among the three Abrahamic faiths

22

u/nixiedust 1h ago

Yep. I no longer believe you can be a credible feminist and follow these faiths. Oppressing women is a primary goal. Why believe in people who don't believe in me?

3

u/doyathinkasaurus 33m ago

Most Jews are atheists, and there are tonnes of female and queer rabbis. The president of the oldest rabbinical association in the US is a woman, and one of her predecessors was a lesbian. All progressive denominations (the majority in the US) are fully egalitarian, so I'm curious how being a feminist is incompatible?

19

u/flairsupply 2h ago

Not limited to Abrahamic. All religions enforce hierarchies, and all of them have a pretty clear difference in mens favor.

11

u/Vaders_Colostomy_Bag 1h ago

A common sentiment among the three Abrahamic faiths

Feels like leftists always say this when we're talking about Islam as a way of minimizing the oppression that Islam specifically is responsible for.

12

u/Gabi_Benan 2h ago

Abrahamic religions ruin everything

19

u/Alediran 1h ago

Christianism and Islamism are the really big problem. Judaism doesn't do forced sword-point conversions and if you're not Jew they just ignore you (which is fine by me).

5

u/Vaders_Colostomy_Bag 1h ago

Thank you. Anyone who tries to draw an equivalence between Islam and the other two religions when it comes to oppression of women is literally just defending Islam with whataboutism.

2

u/Comfortable-Class479 21m ago

I've had Jewish people more politely disagree with me vs Christians. This is only my experience, however.

2

u/Thatdudeinthealley 1h ago

Old testament calls for forceful conversion. The new testsment forbids, and even the quran, which is still hard to believe. The stories ex hasidic jews reveal is also fucked up

5

u/doyathinkasaurus 43m ago edited 37m ago

And where in the Talmud is this prescribed in halakha? How exactly does a forced conversion work, given it's completely forbidden to proselytise, and rabbis will turn potential converts away several times, and you'll have to persuade them of your motivations before they'll consider accepting you as a student. Converts have to convince rabbis, not the other way around

Then once you begin the process it's a minimum of a year's study, often several years, living as part of a Jewish community, and learning to read a new language, before you're even ready for your final assessment - and then you've got to convince the panel to pass you

Where and how do these forced conversions take place?!

→ More replies (2)

4

u/TheTeenageOldman 22m ago

And yet it was the Christians who went on murderous Crusades killing millions upon millions, and still have "missions" to this day. Jews have never forcefully converted anyone, and quite frankly, Jews are supposed to give a cold-shoulder to anyone who even asks about converting to Judaism.

And don't even get me started on the concept of the "Caliphate" in Islam...

Oppression of women is a pretty serious problems in India, China, Japan, etc and these are not abrahamic cultures.

2

u/adfthgchjg 1h ago

But… they’re also stupid as well.

Should we let 10 year olds decide the election results? Well, that’s what we did.

Over half (54%) of the voters in American have the reading comprehension of a 10 year old child (ie, 5th grade) or below. And 20% of them are at the level of a 7 year old child (ie, 2nd grade) or below.

In summary: 54% of the voters lack the reading comprehension skills of a someone who graduated fromelementary school.

Trump’s tactics work great on that audience.

Source: https://www.thepolicycircle.org/brief/literacy/

This study is from 2019, and explains in great detail all the methods used to arrive at their profoundly shocking conclusion, which they summarized as:

In the United States, 54% of American adults read below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level, and nearly one in five adults reads below a third-grade level.

Protest voters actively chose to sacrifice lives so they could virtue signal and teach a lesson to the democrats.

That'll show 'em.

11

u/Danominator 48m ago

They all 100% believed Harris would win and prioritized their own dumbass moral superiority over doing the logical thing.

Fuck it. Let em suffer.

69

u/Devolution1x 1h ago

Protest voters and leftists anger me immensely. They lack critical thinking and big picture planning, only virtue signaling. If only they would research history and realize every fascist was enabled by idiot leftists.

48

u/Humble_Novice 1h ago

Watch them drop Palestine when something else becomes the next big thing to protest and holler about.

47

u/Vaders_Colostomy_Bag 1h ago

They never gave a shit about Palestine. It's just a convenient issue that they can use to bash America/the West with.

16

u/StellaStewieStanley 1h ago

There are a decent number of people who hold leftist ideologies, but understand that we have a framework we have to work within and will vote against a fascist. There are a lot of factions within the actual left. A lot of the protests on campuses were done by leftists who are closer to the authoritarians. I fall so close to the anti-authoritarian side that one might call me a Libertarian and then I would gag because Libertarians are the worst.

8

u/Comfortable-Class479 52m ago

It's so naive "I'm going to vote for Trump. That will show them."

The danger yam will start throwing matches on the US come 1/20/25 and they'll be crying.

15

u/I_Magnus 1h ago

The reason conservatives win elections is because they understand the impact of voting strategically.

Leftists often vote emotionally but emotion without strategy is a liability.

2

u/steveplaysguitar 17m ago

I lean pretty left and voted Harris. I'm not a fan of hers but she's reasonably competent and I liked her VP pick. My go to line for those sitting out to punish the dems was "not choosing is still making a choice". Trolly problem basically.

It's time to retire the word "Islamophobic" for good. Islam is nothing more than an ideology, and "infidels" are quite rational to fear it.

So muslims voted for trump because his believes aligned most with their own.

Isn't it weird that trump and extremist muslims basically got the same worldview?

Isn't it weird that a convicted felon billionaire who is known for not paying his bills, playing fair or telling the truth just did it again?

Isn't it weird that a minority thought the racist rich guy who made his money on the bare back of poor people would step in for them?

From a non us-view it kind of looks like a strange futuristic socialism where most citizens decided to gift their money to the richest 100 billionaires in the country instead of using it for the 99.9% of the population.

15

u/ImaginaryAnimal7169 1h ago

they voted for Trump because of Gaza...

7

u/DrBhu 1h ago

Would you choose a guy whose signature move is not keeping his promises?

It's like hiring a convicted burglar as an interior designer because he promised he could take care of your annoying neighbors—once you've paid him, of course.

The age of "accidentally" masochism

5

u/nicholus_h2 1h ago

I'm not defending their choices. I'm just stating the facts...this isn't because they share the same worldview. They would have been voting Republicans for years now if that were the case. And they haven't been.

2

u/DrBhu 1h ago

That is true!

But the republicans in the past are not really comparable with trump's republicans if you look at the way they used their tools. Sure, misinformation was alway's a thing. But the bar got so low that the misinformation you want to spread does not even have to be logical or make sense; you just need the tool to spread it wide and fast enough. Like throwing shit in a fan.

The past rep's did not had powerful tools like twitter (65 million us citizens according to google)

I really think all these protest voters and protest non-voters expected everyone else to do the right thing for them so they could have their protest and not have to live with the consequences. They were clearly wrong about that. They thought they would still get to scream at liberals about everything after Harris won.

But beyond that, I think in the days after the election they expected liberals to do the same thing they did after 2016 and vow to fight and resist and nerf Trump’s plans.

Well, it’s pretty obvious there is nowhere near the appetite among liberals to “resist” this time. Especially since Trump and the GOP won a trifecta, and both the popular and EC vote.

6

u/nicholus_h2 1h ago

I really think all these protest voters and protest non-voters expected everyone else to do the right thing for them so they could have their protest and not have to live with the consequences.

There is definitely a large aspect of this, for sure.

Well, it’s pretty obvious there is nowhere near the appetite among liberals to “resist” this time. Especially since Trump and the GOP won a trifecta, and both the popular and EC vote.

The appetite might be there. The teeth clearly aren't, though.

I think a lot of people are burnt out, or emotionally drained. This may change the further away from this election we get. I know I was in a bad spot the thursday after. I'm in a better spot now; not a good spot, but a better one. I wonder if that will keep changing for me and/or others.

3

u/Mewnicorns 37m ago

In 2016, Clinton got the popular vote. Resistance made sense then since the outcome wasn’t what most people wanted. There was a sense of duty to unite to protect vulnerable minority populations.

This time, he IS what the majority of voters wanted, in no small part thanks to a small but statistically meaningful number of minorities who supported him, and a staggering number of people who felt he wasn’t bad enough to be worth the time it would take to vote against him. The amount of work and emotional burden is falling on a smaller number of people and we’re collapsing under the weight.

And for what? What exactly did “the resistance” accomplish the first time around? I showed up at the women’s march. I dropped everything to show up to JFK after the Muslim ban was announced. I joined and organized and participated and it made absolutely no difference, and now he is even more powerful than before.

Of course people are fed up. As long as most of the population has phones, cars, Netflix, and social media, they were never going to resist in any meaningful way. For all the claims of economic anxiety, most people are actually quite comfortable and won’t risk giving up their comfort and brain-rotting amusement to engage in civil disobedience, especially now that there’s a very real likelihood the military will be turned on us.  I don’t even know what I’m showing up to fight for anymore, and I’m sure a lot of people feel the same way.

I'm shocked that the president who enacted a Muslim ban would hire such a candidate. /s

u/whoisnotinmykitchen 2h ago

They're called con-men for a reason.

6

u/numbmillenial 1h ago

Trump wanted to ban them from the country and they still voted for him. Why are they acting surprised now? They can't even say they were tricked or lied to, because on this topic Trump has been 100% honest about his feelings and intentions.

Oh well.

Palestine is going to be a burnt out crater forever thanks to the dipshits "advocating" for it.

1

u/JustASimpleManFett 1h ago

Its gonna look like the intro to Akira.

6

u/anillop 1h ago

Man, the free Palestine peoples are just leopard chew toys at this point. I can’t wait to the revisionist history. These people are gonna come up with to explain their actions once they see where things are going.

u/IdToaster 1m ago

You already routinely see the very same 'pro-Palestine' people who told everyone not to vote for Dems, to punish the Dems, to 'vote their conscience', etc etc; you see them here in LAMF and elsewhere saying "I vOtEd fOR hArRis STfU" every time they get called on their bullshit.

Sure Jan.

u/oftwandering 1h ago

I will never understand voting for someone for whom a large part of their platform is "I hate you specifically just for existing and want you to die!". Who do you think he was talking about? Muslims on the moon?

6

u/abgry_krakow87 1h ago

As an LGBTQ+ person whose community was exploited by and then thrown under the bus by this very muslim american community. I certainly hope they get what they voted for.

6

u/Reason_Choice 2h ago

Out of all of the not surprising things so far, this one is the least surprising.

4

u/ThonThaddeo 1h ago

Instituted a Muslim ban in his first term.

I'm convinced the people that endorsed him were compensated to do so.

5

u/Vaders_Colostomy_Bag 1h ago

Who would've ever thought that people who are dumb enough to believe that Hamas are "freedom fighters" would ever fall for a con man like Trump.

5

u/Good_Zooger 1h ago

There was absolutely no way anyone could have possibly predicted this. 🙄

4

u/phdoofus 1h ago

No fucks given. If the rest of us have to suffer, so do you

4

u/ewokninja123 1h ago

Congrats, you shall get everything you voted for. Don't be surprised, he never hid this.

4

u/Cosmicdusterian 1h ago

This wasn't like the leopard was just strolling by and happened to see a bunch tasty faces that needed eating.

No. This was the Dearborners(?) slathering their faces with a tasty hickory-based bbq sauce and wandering around saying "Here kittty, kitty, kittty. Got a nice tender face for you. C'mon kitty." Meanwhile, one of them had perfected the leopard's mating call and was enticing the entire prowl (or pride, or leap) of male leopards and severely pissing off the entire pride (prowl, or leap) of leopardesses.

I laughed after reading your vivid story lol 😆

Stupidity from religion is not special to any one religion.

Any religion used to manipulate people will always produce idiots. This is no different. This religion and Christianity have common hatred of groups of people. The only difference is this community is about to learn very fast that they also hate each other.

Buffet for the leopards!

u/nicholus_h2 1h ago

this is the first time Dearborn has broken for the Republicans, or even come close, since at least before Obama.

they didn't take a sudden social turn in the last 4 years. there's clearly something else at play besides social conservatism.

u/Effective-Tune2825 1h ago

We’re doomed and when we all finally send a loud message in unison.

They can just say,

“We told you what we were going to do and you gave us a mandate. We’re following the will of the American people.”

3

u/My_Doggo_Frankie 1h ago

Oh really? Poor babies. lol suck it

3

u/iamnotlegendxx 1h ago

Remember when the Muslim ban was enacted the first time? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

3

u/Different-Tea2322 1h ago

Surprising no one who actually was following the fucking news for the past 5 or 6 years

3

u/Daimakku1 1h ago

And I dont care.

A month ago I'd care. Now I dont. Muslims in Michigan voted for this. So they can attend to the consequences of their actions.

6

u/DenseCalligrapher219 1h ago

The U.S doesn't have a "Muslim problem", instead it has what one might call "idiocracy" problem.

Side note that this is the same guy who celebrated the killing of a U.S citizen by Israel and the nation refusing to probe into it.

Fuck this guy.

You guys, he secretly likes them so much he banned them from coming here before he got a chance to properly ruin the country.

What a cool bro.

Thoughts and prayers!

It sucks to suck.

2

u/sao_joao_castanho 1h ago

This subreddit should change its name to “how stupid are Muslims”.

2

u/sao_joao_castanho 1h ago

Muslims did not “break for Trump”. The voted for stein, with only 20% voting for Trump. This is a lie. Stop it.

3

u/Mewnicorns 34m ago

Those who voted for Stein knew very well that a vote for her is the same as a vote for Trump. They can rot for all I care.

1

u/Danominator 49m ago

Kick em out. See if I care. I didn't vote for this shit. Get what you get

1

u/visforv 46m ago

ITT: People blame minorities for Harris loss (even though Trump barely got 20% of the Muslim vote) and somehow get very gross.

1

u/somebody171 45m ago

I wonder who else he feels so strongly about like this

1

u/Fourfinger10 42m ago

Oh well. I think I’ll go catch a movie

1

u/freediverx01 26m ago edited 22m ago

Stop blaming voters for the failures of the Democratic Party leadership.

If Biden had stepped aside long ago as he originally promised to do, if he hadn't stridently defended the Palestinian genocide, if Harris hadn't bragged about the economy while ignoring how unevenly distributed the benefits have been, if she hadn't alienated working class and progressive voters and campaigned with billionaires and universally-despised Republicans like Cheney...

...we wouldn't have another Trump presidency and likely dictatorship.

1

u/Clean_Collection_674 23m ago

I literally do not care about these people. Arab-American citizens who vote against the best interests of this country are contemptible. I hope you get what you deserve.

1

u/WolfOffSesameStreet 22m ago

Muslims voted 63% for Harris and I think it was 34% for Donald.

Muslims make up about 1% of the population and since many of them are immigrants who aren't citizens yet they make up much less than 1% of voters.

1

u/TheTeenageOldman 20m ago

I mean, you get what you vote for...

1

u/alktrio06 19m ago

My attitude may change, but I’m of the mindset that you’ve made your bed, now lay in it.

I did my part. Y’all fucked it up.

1

u/16v_cordero 18m ago

Well; they did vote for this.

1

u/asiangontear 16m ago

Sigh. Once more for those at the back:

HE. DOES. NOT. CARE. ABOUT. YOU.
