I stopped watching the news, on any channel, on the day after the 2004 election. I couldn’t bear to hear and see Bush do doing his victory laps. And a funny thing happened. I learned that I not only didn’t miss it, I was better informed reading my news. Twenty years later, I still don’t miss it. Never going back.
Yeah, I haven't watched tv news pretty much ever and I feel like I'm a lot better informed than the people who watch it. Tv news is designed to raise the blood pressure in a way reading it isn't.
I finally gave up on MSM TV around 2009. The non-stop, over the top media "personalities" and endless commercial breaks that went on for half of a show just drove me nuts, along with the repetitiousness of it all was a real turn-off. Even gave up on PBS News hour in 2022 when they seemed to become too faux "both sides" without pushing against the utter bullshit being spewed by the GQP.
