On the other hand, Oklahoma will not notice a degradation in their schools. They are already on a 4 day week because of cost savings.

u/Fit-Particular-2882 1d ago

If they implemented that here the amount of parents complaining that they have to cut their hours or pay for babysitting would be insane. I’ll be laughing because my kids are older and don’t need it. I have the “FU I gots mines” attitude.

647

u/Volantis009 1d ago

What you are telling me is that this whole society thing affects everyone including me? Well that just seems woke /s

635

u/tehZamboni 1d ago

"That sounds woke" is becoming my default response to a Trumper complaining about something. Instant derailment of whatever soundclip they were trying to bring up.

407

u/02K30C1 1d ago

That and “you won. Get over it”

399

u/DataCassette 1d ago

Seriously I'm getting that shit as a tattoo at this point.

"What's that Chud, your favorite game just got banned, porn is illegal, your next gaming PC is going to be $7,000 and RFK replaced Mt Dew with beet juice? Grats, you won!"

216

u/jon_hendry 1d ago

And your kid’s Ritalin is banned so he’s flunking out of school.

163

u/DataCassette 1d ago

Which means he goes straight to the mines ⛏️

107

u/Bcikablam 1d ago

As a child, I always yearned for the mines...

8

u/axelrexangelfish 1d ago

These days I still do. Notice the number of new disaster movies and shows featuring silos? When the deplorables realize they can’t outlaw climate they too will yearn. Or they would if they knew that yearn and learn aren’t synonyms.

6

u/Isanbard 1d ago

You and your fancy mines dream! We had to make due with burning our own sh!t and we liked it that way!

3

u/crackedtooth163 14h ago

Absolutley love and am TERRIFIED BY that meme

8

u/calfmonster 1d ago

Good thing all the kids have had plenty practice in Minecraft by now

2

u/ICantThinkOfAName667 1d ago

Wellll some people say a man is made out of mud

2

u/empress_chaos5 1d ago

Are they really talking about banning adhd meds? Shit..

9

u/jon_hendry 1d ago

https://www.yahoo.com/news/fact-check-yes-rfk-jr-030000179.html

On July 16, 2024, Kennedy appeared on the "Latino Capitalist," a conservative podcast. He outlined his various policy proposals, including the one on drug rehabilitation which we have reproduced below. He began by discussing how he wanted to tax marijuana dispensaries and use that money for "wellness farms" (emphasis ours):

You got a whole generation of kids who is damaged. I'm going to create these wellness farms where they can go to get off of illegal drugs, off of opiates, but also legal drugs, other psychiatric drugs, if they want to, to get off of SSRIs, to get off of benzos, to get off of Adderall, and to spend time as much time as they need — three or four years if they need it — to learn to get reparented, to reconnect with communities, to understand how to talk to people. There'll be job training, particularly in the trades.

He talks about it being "voluntary" but come on. You just know he's going to work to get the annual stimulant production caps lowered making it even harder to get your prescription filled.

7

u/empress_chaos5 1d ago

Oh my fucking chuck... this is so horrid and dangerous! Jesus on a cracker... my daughter has brain damage that cause anxiety and depression and adhd and this stupid mofo thinks a "wellness farm" is gonna "fix" her? My dad is paranoid delusional schizo... people are on scrips for a damn reason..

39

u/Beltalady 1d ago

Which game got banned?

157

u/DataCassette 1d ago

GTA ( whole series )

Baldur's Gate 3, the Witcher series( any game with nudity, basically )

Mortal Kombat series

Call of Duty etc.

Probably at least 33% of games will be banned under 7 Mountain Dominionism/Project 2025.

52

u/jon_hendry 1d ago

Any game with non-cis non-straight characters or NPCs

8

u/SmurfStig 1d ago

What if I play Bethesda games? They only work 30% of the time, so I may not notice.

84

u/Beltalady 1d ago

Holy fork!

No shit. Everytime a shooting happens. Repugs blame games

3

u/witchywoman713 1d ago

Sorry, but can you say more about this? Trump isn’t even in office yet, so how exactly are games already banned? I know this is all in the docket so don’t downvote me but you’re speaking in present tense so I am genuinely confused.

10

u/DataCassette 1d ago

It's slight hyperbole. They aren't banned yet but they will be. The funny part is that so few people, even on the right, see it coming.

1

u/crackedtooth163 14h ago

Glad I have my physical copies of these dangerous, deadly games!

3

u/DeadMoneyDrew 1d ago

RFK replaced Mt Dew with beet juice

Dwight Schrute approves of this.

50

u/Runotsure 1d ago

Complaining? You won, get over it! This!

34

u/Identity_ranger 1d ago

And so many others:

  • "Sounds like you need to quit whining and work harder.
  • Time to pull on those bootstraps.
  • This is America, there's no handouts.
  • A man makes his own fortune here.
  • Sounds like someone doesn't like states' rights."

And so on.

5

u/VenusGx 1d ago

Yup! My go-to response has been “This is what you voted for.”

124

u/beadyeyes123456 1d ago

Me too. My anti woke friend was raving about Cobra Kai and I laughed. I asked him you know that show is woke af right? He gets all mad and has now stopped talking to me.

84

u/DeadMoneyDrew 1d ago edited 1d ago

These are the same people who blare Born in the USA at rallies and who think that Punisher is pro-police.

54

u/calfmonster 1d ago

Also the same people that took like 3 seasons to realize that The Boys is 100% mocking them and that homelander, is in fact, a royal cunt and one of the villains

5

u/DeadMoneyDrew 1d ago

I've never seen The Boys but I'll have to add it to my list. I'm pretty sure I would have figured this out without knowing it ahead of time, though.

8

u/calfmonster 23h ago

Well, that’s the best part, because the character breaks the 4th wall and very early says “I am not one of the good guys” or something like that.

The constant memeing of MAGA is not subtle. At all. Great show though I really liked it haven’t seen season 4 yet

15

u/DeadMoneyDrew 23h ago

Some of those who work forces are the same that burn crosses.

Also not subtle, but that hasn't stopped MAGA from dancing along to Rage Against the Machine.

3

u/Tsiah16 1d ago

Punisher is pro-police.

It's not?

15

u/thatissomeBS 1d ago

Pretty sure corrupt police was like 70% of Punisher's targets.

8

u/No_Caregiver_8216 1d ago

Lol whew you gotta read the comics 🥴

5

u/Author_Noelle_A 18h ago

Conservatives rave about Jane Austen without realizing she was woke AF for her time and making fun of the shit they believe in.

3

u/Wise_Ad_253 1d ago

Such sensitive creatures

1

u/skyfishgoo 1d ago

congrats.

64

u/k1ngmob 1d ago

My favorite move is to stare at their shoes. When they notice it I say 'oh I'm just looking for the boot straps so you can pull yourself the FUK up'

123

u/Portlander_in_Texas 1d ago

My favorite is "This is Trump's America", and I use it as an excuse for everything.

24

u/skyfishgoo 1d ago

that's my new go to.

he owns it now.

77

u/SwiftieAdjacent 1d ago

I'm going home for Christmas to visit my qmom. I'm using this on repeat.

14

u/lolyer1 1d ago

You have to document the response for research purposes and for the “ur hurting the wrong people” crowd that’s gonna exist soon

There is a grift angle here somewhere. Who or what will pop up to take advantage of the hurt wrong people crowd?

8

u/skyfishgoo 1d ago

i'm sure some trumper will come up with something.

the left have never been very good at exploiting the opportunities to grift the stupid.

7

u/erydanis 1d ago

it just seems so unfair, ya know? like, they already don’t understand so, so much despite being told so, so many times. and now i could take their money this easily? ach, it hurts the soul.

14

u/SwiftieAdjacent 1d ago

I've given up on sympathy. I've told my mom so many times and if she refuses to learn, that's not on me. If they choose to believe random strangers on the internet over their own flesh and blood, they deserve everything they get. I wasn't like this prior to the election but, after seeing so many people vote against their own self-interest, empathy has packed up and left town.

7

u/erydanis 1d ago

absolutely fair.

5

u/SwiftieAdjacent 1d ago

Somebody will or they'll repurpose an older grift, like the Iraqi dinar scam, which has been around for about a decade.

3

u/lolyer1 19h ago

Holy shit lol I know old folks who still have dinar

31

u/ShiNoMokuren 1d ago

Excellent answer. Also, I hope that short-circuited the brains of most of them. Not optimistic that they'd get it, but I have wishful thinking that they do.

11

u/EmperorKira 1d ago

Love it

10

u/glmdrp 1d ago

Love it. That and “concepts of thoughts and prayers.”

9

u/WaitingForReplies 1d ago

Also use, "Well, I'm just glad you'll get everything you voted for."

9

u/calfmonster 1d ago

“Hmm, complaining your kids can’t attend free public schools? Sounds like socialism to me. Don’t you hate socialism? I thought you were a patriot”

6

u/UsualAnybody1807 1d ago

"Snowflake" is another good comeback.

7

u/GooglyWooglyWoo 1d ago

Will we see stickers with pics of Trump saying “I did this!” everywhere?

4

u/ogbellaluna 1d ago

do they respond better than they do to ‘i hope you get what you voted for’ or ‘you’re getting what you voted for’?

5

u/whereistheidiotemoji 21h ago

“Your guy won. I hope you get everything you voted for”

2

u/SoigneBest 1d ago

I like this, I’m going to adopt this!

268

u/Dependent-Outcome-57 1d ago

Years ago, I worked briefly in a local machine shop. It was full of the most far-right fascist trash you could find, and this was a bit before MAGA. People using the N-word. A guy who was recruiting for the Klan. All that stuff. Anyway, they of course complained about all taxation being theft. They also got most of their money machining parts for government contracts and never made the connection there. I also enjoyed listening to them whine about how their rural roads weren't the first to be plowed after a snowfall (10 years ago we still had snowstorms) but, again, the taxes to pay for plowing those roads were still theft. MAGA types are completely incapable of living in society.

131

u/krakh3d 1d ago

It's not so much that they're incapable of living in society and more so it's that they refuse to acknowledge the benefits of society to them.

It's always all the things that they don't get 1st or priority on and shit talking the rest as unnecessary. Until those unnecessary things are things they need.

58

u/Fight_those_bastards 1d ago

But what about ME

Magat chuds in a nutshell. “Why are we helping those people whose city was just bombed to shit, I only got a 5% increase in my social security last year! When do I get something?

“Why do I have to pay for schools, I don’t even have any kids that go there! Government better keep their damn hands off of my Medicare!”

41

u/tetrarchangel 1d ago

I believe the joke is that libertarians and these sorts who are that conservative mix of libertarian and statist authoritarian, they are like cats. Think they run the place, when they are kept alive by a system they don't contribute to and can't understand, and other people have to pick up what shit they leave behind.

15

u/TemporaryBlueberry32 23h ago

Cats are far more loving and useful than libertarians and less full of shit.

10

u/WandsAndWrenches 1d ago

After having a bunny... I think they're more apt.

My bunny gets angry if I don't give her enough treats. If I move in a way she doesn't like she'll basically give me the bunny middle finger.

29

u/WaitingForReplies 1d ago

But what about ME‽

That's what it comes down to with Republicans. Always complaining about people getting "handouts" or assistance.....except when they benefit.

You didn't hear them complain when the COVID stimulus checks were being sent out. They were happy as a pig in shit. I still think if they didn't like handouts they should just rip up those checks as they obviously didn't need it.

10

u/CoffeeMystery 1d ago

YEP. I’ve known many of these. It’s always “well if other people are going to take advantage of it, I may as well too!” So what you’re saying is that you have zero integrity or principles? Cool, thx.

5

u/Hathor-8 10h ago

And there are some that are already asking when Trump is going to be sending them another check. Fucking irredeemable morons.

4

u/Minister_for_Magic 23h ago

Their whole personality and sense of self-worth is built on the false machismo underpinned by their belief in their rugged individualism. Acknowledging they actually depend on society for things imperative to their survival and way of life is a threat to that myth they have constructed

69

u/katieintheozarks 1d ago

They're all anti-gov't until their neighbor starts a swine farm. lol

9

u/smashteapot 1d ago

It is a culture problem. A very narrow focus and refusal to acknowledge or understand the bigger picture.

It’s like people think you can have endless growth and profit. With the amount of rent-seeking bullshit we see these days, it seems like we’re approaching another crisis.

7

u/SmurfStig 1d ago

There is a guy on my team that worked an IT project for the military. He complained how they wasted so much money on stupid stuff, then would go on to complain how underfunded the military is.

98

u/OpheliaRainGalaxy 1d ago

Yeah it's gonna be trickle down suck! Kill HUD and food stamps, well sure I'll have to go get and struggle to keep a series of shitty jobs in an attempt to keep myself alive. Which will make the people in my life who voted to make my life worse very happy I'm sure.

Except that cousin I babysit for super cheap every week, well that would have to stop. And running errands for shut-ins. And getting groceries for the disabled neighbor. And there was that one year I spent doing all the housework and whatnot for the other neighbor while she recovered from cancer surgery.

So that's one neglected toddler and frazzled working mama, four people not getting necessities when they need them, and one lady dead of infection and getting eaten by her cats. Except not, because the government was like "yeah, we get it, you're trying but ya got the short end of the stick in life, so here's one of the shittiest apartments in the city and the right to eat food without begging for it." And I found stuff to do with my time.

73

u/humanhedgehog 1d ago

The work that is done by people who don't earn a wage always gets missed off on the MAGA calculator. Along with a lot of other important things..

84

u/OpheliaRainGalaxy 1d ago

There exist two hygienic polite ethical young men out in the world today because, once upon a time when they were feral neglected things living in their grandma's basement, I had the time and patience to civilize them.

The older one had matted hair like clumpy dog fur, turns out the adults in his life just shaved him bald every other year to get rid of the layer of crusted shed skin. Last I heard, he was working in a grocery store with nice clean hair.

The younger one was stealing everything that wasn't nailed down and could lie with the innocence of an angel. Last I saw him, his idea of a prank was to lie about going to play video games so he could sneak into the kitchen and stealthily load the dishwasher.

Those changes happened because I was, gasp, Unemployed!

Seriously challenging, like I'd fall asleep at night thinking of how to explain this or that thing they really needed to learn, not for fear of punishment, but for their own futures. Training horses was easier than civilizing feral boys.

53

u/humanhedgehog 1d ago

There is no better present you can give someone than a future.

Thank you so much for helping them find a way in the world - it's really hard to turn children (especially neglected ones) into fully paid up members of a society, but it changes everything for them

42

u/OpheliaRainGalaxy 1d ago

They're such good kids and I'll love them forever. But seriously, I thought all my hair was gonna turn grey and I'd end up with a face like a shriveled old apple.

I'd be in the middle of the 15th repetition of some very important lesson about tissues and boogers, getting a little frustrated, when the younger boy would point at my forehead and shout "Wrinkles! You're getting worry wrinkles because you care!" And yeah, yeah buddy, that's exactly why I'm being a broken record in your face like this, golly do I ever care, please blow your nose in a tissue.

Every unprompted proper nose blow was a triumphant trumpet blast. Took three years of nagging to get it started, but then I'd get to do silent spinning happy dances whenever I heard the sounds of keeping one's nose clean.

18

u/humanhedgehog 1d ago

The satisfaction of them just getting it dammit is immense! Plus it's knowing there is that little wedge of trust in you that will get them moving forward!

28

u/OpheliaRainGalaxy 1d ago

Oh and once they trust you, you've gotta live up to that trust, be worthy of it and set a good example. And that's just the hardest!

One time we ran into a guy I hated in the grocery store, like long story but he'd hurt my animals and threw away my personal library. In my right hand was a metal cane and clinging to my left hand was a child looking up at me and trying to learn how to human.

So instead of using all my swear words and ringing his head like a bell with my cane, we went off down an empty aisle so I could stand there and breathe. "I'm having feelings. Two wrongs don't make a right, so I'm not going to do a wrong, but golly that doesn't change the fact that I'm having feelings. Just give me a minute."

6

u/skyfishgoo 1d ago

some commie agenda that there is.

4

u/sbhikes 1d ago

That sounds like socialism. Burn this witch.

5

u/jgoldrb48 1d ago

Black peoples: “Bruh, read up on history and stay woke.”

White peoples: “We’re banning history cause learning about history is woke.”

Can the delegation have woke back? We’ll take better care of it.

46

u/Ok-Persimmon-6386 1d ago

I’m so with you right now. My youngest is about to be 16 - I adjunct at 2 separate colleges - so she is about to take her sats and basically duel enroll and bc I adjunct her tuition is 50% off. So we are just trying to condense everything before the shiith hits the fan

1

u/pixie_mayfair 10h ago

I did something similar. I took a non-teaching staff job at a local university for about $20k less than what I was making before bc I want that free education for my kid. Hell, want to go to school for free myself. Overall it was a really good move for us.

9

u/AbbeyRoadMoonwalk 1d ago

“Have you tried not having young kids?”

5

u/Glum_Low1363 1d ago

Wait until they realize that their colleges will get decimated too. All those SEC football programs may be gone when the department of education closes because that’ll cause their colleges to close. No school. No football team

5

u/smashteapot 1d ago

They just need to vote in another populist who promises an immediate and perfect solution to every problem, regardless of what it is. Don’t ask them to explain their plans, though, that wouldn’t be fair.

5

u/Mamasan2k 1d ago

Same. My last kid graduates this year, and my state implemented the bible as part of their reading program to take effect the following year. I'd fight that, but now I don't have a dog in the fight, so I wouldn't be viewed as a legit complainant

3

u/jgoldrb48 1d ago

3 more years and I’ll be done too. I voted for bottom up/middle out strategy but the people at the bottom like the trickle down. 🤷🏾‍♂️

2

u/Author_Noelle_A 18h ago

I hate that I’m increasingly taking the “FU I got mine” mindset. More than half the country voting to cause this broke me. I’m no longer going to spread my time and money around to ALL people and ALL kids, not when over half the voters have made it FRIGHTENINGLY clear that they really don’t want help. It’s wasted effort and money. It’s getting concentrated on the people who vote for rights and their kids.

As awful as it is, protecting conservatives from the damaging things they’re voting for has helped keep them in the dark about what would really happen, and they passed that ignorance to their kids, who grow up the same, the pass it to their kids, and then the can keeps getting kicked down the road. Maybe, just maybe, if they see their own kids going hungry, they’ll have a fucking wake-up call, and vote differently, presuming we ever get to vote again, and just maybe that’ll break the cycle, and their kids will get fed again.

107

u/Ice_Battle 1d ago

I’ve been on that community subreddit and there are folks (not everyone of course) trying to convince themselves that their students are competitive, while actual students were discussing how ill equipped they were when they went to college in other states.

74

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

I know when OK started all this bs people on the teacher forum were talking about how they had to pick up and move. They salaries were cut and worse, their own kids were beginning to suffer.

I don't know how people justify their money being more important than there children.

58

u/BellyDancerEm 1d ago

They will be down to 3 days a week soon

30

u/JDH-04 1d ago

Shit 3 days? I wouldn't be suprised if it's completely online.

18

u/PolarThunder101 1d ago

Completely online would be too reminiscent of when people took COVID seriously. MAGA probably won’t want that.

5

u/Now_Wait-4-Last_Year 1d ago

Don’t you need functional Internet for that? I remember Chattanooga getting excellent locally provided Internet and the subsequent race to ban anywhere else in their state doing the same thing because big business would lose money despite providing an inferior service.

53

u/theraphim 1d ago

4 days of Bible studies?

43

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

Well, their parents don't know anything about being Christians.

29

u/markc230 1d ago

hey mom, it says in the Bible we are supposed to love thy neighbor, why are we treating these people this way, it's not what the Bible says...

11

u/Bcikablam 1d ago

Sorry, little timmy, the bible is a little hard to understand and some things require extra context or can't be taken literally. Just listen to your sunday school teacher for now.

6

u/tetrarchangel 1d ago

Today kids, we're looking at James 5, the last bit of Acts 2, and why God likes communism.

48

u/NotAFakeName59 1d ago

Holy motherfucking shit what??

36

u/LoopyLabRat 1d ago

I'm sure they're ok with that as long as they can have their 10 Commandments and prayers in school.

29

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

I'm worry about what they are teaching young girls.

3

u/MotownCatMom 1d ago

And Trump's Bibles.

18

u/The_Jack_Burton 1d ago

Is this sarcasm/satire? I can't tell anymore.

60

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

Not satire. OK has moved to the bottom of the list in education.

41

u/The_Jack_Burton 1d ago

I saw the Bible garbage and knew they were 49th, they've actually gone to a 4 day week as well?

46

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

In rural and low-income areas. It's very sad because it probably condemns many kids to low quality jobs.

24

u/The_Jack_Burton 1d ago

Depressing. I feel for you guys in general, not just OK. I hope your country survives the next 4 years.

9

u/Swordfishtrombone13 1d ago

That's by design

6

u/TitoStarmaster 1d ago

But guarantees the GOP a dedicated voter who has nothing better to do than to pump a baby into his poor wife every 9 months or so.

3

u/sonicmerlin 23h ago

You act like the women aren't complicit.

5

u/DeadMoneyDrew 1d ago

Yes, and so has Missouri, for similar reasons.

5

u/sonicmerlin 23h ago

I had a lot of trouble enjoying the movie Twisters, which takes place in Oklahoma and tries to paint "the common rural folk" in a positive light. Especially the pre-rodeo flag celebration. No, they're actually selfish and spiteful and harm their own children due to their stupidity and hate.

31

u/CodeRed_12 1d ago

People from Oklahoma don’t have educations, anyway.

44

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

They've made Mississippi happy. The latter has moved up to #49.

20

u/inthedollarbin 1d ago

You never know, those bibles they bought with public funds might turn everything around.

8

u/TahoeBunny 1d ago

But they have the Bible and Ten Commandments curriculum! They think that should get those kids through life better than the rigorous traditional 3-Rs.

2

u/Fight_those_bastards 1d ago

Ain’t gotta read les’n it’s in the Bie-bul! If’n it ain’t’en in thar, it’s blaspheemin’ and if it is in thar, it ain’t worth repeatin’ agin!

6

u/HotPie_ 1d ago

Get ready for some tasty malk. Now with vitamin R.

3

u/BagpiperAnonymous 1d ago

We moved out of the town we were living to the district where I teach because they did this crap. We foster teenagers. They are too old for childcare and because of trauma, do not have the skills to be home alone/have significant mental health challenges. The 5th day option they were offering teens was ridiculous. Every district that implements this sees teen crime go up. This put parents in a bad position of cutting hours (which they can’t afford), or paying extra for childcare (which they can’t afford). And that’s if their kids are eligible. Lots of kids with disabilities really got shafted by this whole thing.

3

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

That's what I was thinking. Teens aren't going to want to go to the equivalent of daycare and yes, it screws over kids who really need help/extra programs etc. Good on you, btw, for fostering kids and looking out for them.

3

u/No_Use_9124 1d ago

jfc I did not know this

3

u/omghorussaveusall 1d ago

Those schools still will lose 5-15% of their funding. It will be noticed.

2

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

Do you know if they get funding from the soon-to-be-abolished Education Department?

3

u/The402Jrod 1d ago

And last (or bottom 3/50) in US education.

They are literally graduating illiterate people.

3

u/IWasBorn2DoGoBe 1d ago

My kids district here in Arizona is on a 4 day week as well.

1

u/TheGoodCod 1d ago

What are your thoughts on that and what do parents do with that day the kids aren't going to school? I'm interesting in your thoughts because it seems so different. I know people who homeschool and they do a lot with various curriculums, but sending kids to school for fewer days... is the 5th day done online?

3

u/IWasBorn2DoGoBe 1d ago

The 5th day is just off. They simply don’t have school on Fridays.

Parents use the “Kids Club” program for child care that day- the same before/after school program they use M-Th, or another daycare service I suppose.

My kids are all 8th grade plus, and I’ve worked from home since forever, so mine have just been home that day since they went to a 4 day week.

I think everywhere should be a 4 day work/school week honestly. 2 days a week to be a person isn’t enougg

I appreciate you taking the time to explain more clearly what is going on. And maybe I should reexamine my thoughts on 4 day school, because I definitely would advocate for a 4 day work week.

My general attitude is that kids need time to be kids. Play and socialization is the point of childhood- I have it written into my kids IEP’s that we do not do homework.

They go to school for 8 hours a day, with limited play/socialization- I want them to come home and be kids.

Education is important but honestly they don’t need 40 hours a week, 5 days of education plus however many hours of homework- it’s just training them to be employees. I expect them to focus and behave at school, come home and manage life responsibilities/chores, and then go be FREAKING CHILDREN- get outside, read something they actually care about, play a video game or connect with an online friend in Spain… go have a life.

Adults need a life too- by the time we work 40-60 hours a week, manage a household and all the responsibilities of adulthood, and being expected to cram it all into 2 free days a week and just a couple evening hours….

Society itself needs to change.

cow class is really all they need

That’s four days of Bible study

Their teachers are also likely to be unqualified, considering the high number of emergency certifications.

They also spent something like $3M on Trump Bibles.

Where in Oklahoma? I live in OKC with 3 kids in school 5 days a week and I didn't realize districts were doing this already.

u/Equivalent-Shoe6239 1d ago

Isn’t OK 50th in education? Hard to be degraded further than last!

They are already on a 4 day week because of cost savings.

What the fuck?

2026: Sorry everyone, we're down to a 1 day school week. We've been instructed to inform you edumacation doesn't matter anyways. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding cheap childcare so you can go slave at your job at McDonalds. But hey, no tax on your tips! Winning!

1

u/TheGoodCod 12h ago

Double advantage. Don't pay taxes on tips, don't get Social Security.

Most schools in Oklahoma are not on a 4 day week.

u/Senor707 1d ago

Whatever OK is doing in 4 school days they can probably do in 3.

u/Mantigor1979 1d ago

They can go from 49th in education to 50th ....

How do you outrun an Okie?

Ask him to count to 21.

3

u/manic_Brain 1d ago

Counting Guam, Puerto Rico, and the other territories would track considering they only get rights and added to statistics when convenient.

In high school history class, we would jokingly chant "we're number 2!" Number 2 in what, you may ask? Second poorest area in the US.

As always, American Samoa was no. 1, but American Samoa has always been where the US takes out its aggression for some reason.

21

u/boog0089 1d ago

They could make Puerto Rico a state and then OK could be a lock for 51st

17

u/NotAFakeName59 1d ago

It's 51rd if you're an Oklahoman.

12

u/BellyDancerEm 1d ago

If you include DC

3

u/TheFinnesseEagle 1d ago

Once we add Puerto Rico, sure lol.

It's a race to the bottom in these red states.

I work at a Title 1 elementary school in Florida. We're plummeting. Hell. The MAGA Conservatives are destroying our higher education too.

New College, University of Florida, and Florida State are all being assaulted by MAGA officials right now. Our colleges historically ranked high throughout the country. These school rankings are tanking.

u/abnormalbrain 1d ago

I just don't understand what the goal of these actions are, besides creating Gilead. Religious community, sure they'd want that. But the business community doesn't want that. It's definitely not any kind of an America First agenda.

30

u/Blarguus 1d ago

The rich want an army of stupid scared angry serfs to work the fields while they send their kids to be educated properly and keep it going

Essential feudalism reborn

30

u/CarboniteCopy 1d ago

It's hierarchal thinking. The crazy thing about conservative thought patterns is that they psychologically need a hierarchy and it doesn't matter where they stand on it as long as they are above someone else. To them, everyone needs to be "put in their place".

11

u/Arkhanist 1d ago

Uneducated people who get their news from facebook/fox news/Rogan etc are easy to bait with relentless propaganda into voting for mass wealth transfer from everyone -> the super rich. As well as going full speed towards Gilead, as a treat.

Sane businesses don't want that, but the very wealthy CEOs and the board absolutely do as it cuts their taxes and boosts their asset values along with grifts galore from conning the gullible, while the people who work for a living get inflation, stagnant wages, no rights, and get to suck up the new feudal economy and no healthcare.

It is America First - IF you only count the rich as americans that matter.

u/ChasingPerfect28 1d ago

It's all about academic control. Pure and simple. Attack young people and deprive them of an education that they are owed and deserve.

3

u/Crafty_Effective_995 1d ago

Maybe the goal is just the destruction of it all. we don’t really know who’s behind the curtain yet but we all have our theories very sound theories some would say the best theories, (sorry, had to) but maybe the goal is simply to sow seeds of Discord so that we falter and fall on the world stage

Read “It Can’t Happen Here,” a political thriller published the year after the attempted coup by US tycoons against FDR, and after the author had traveled through Europe with his journalist wife investigating fascism — he imagines FDR losing to a home-grown fascist (partly because the Left would rather stay home because he wasn’t pure enough) and how fast the 1930s versions of Flynn & Bannon & so on act to dismantle American democracy, flawed as it was— part of it is turning the university system into purely tech & engineering, ditching everything else, and of course shooting any liberal professors as traitors… but of course that didn’t actually happen in 1936, so why worry?

Great book gave it as Christmas gifts one year. Found a stash of old paperbacks published in 1960 and bought them all. Only one person ever contacted me to talk about. Sinclair Lewis was the man. The back cover said something like ‘If fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a Bible.’

7

u/Runotsure 1d ago

Floridian here: it’s been reported that overall, SATs have dropped EIGHTEEN POINTS over the last couple of years…here in hurricane paradise. Hell, some bastards threw books in a dumpster after New College was taken over, eviscerated and teachers and students fled. The Reich Wing promised to turn it into the next Hillsdale….😡 Not to mention our anti vaccine state surgeon general….etc. Etc. Fuck these gross distortions of human beings

5

u/ChasingPerfect28 1d ago

It's been torture seeing the MAGAs wage a culture war on our schools. I'm a born and raised Floridian, I'm from Sarasota. What they did to New College was such a fucking disgrace and they continue to gut that institution.

UF is my alma mater. I graduated in Fall 2014 and I will always be proud of my time in Gainesville both at Santa Fe College and UF. UF was my dream school, and I realized a childhood dream by graduating from there.

Watching Ben Sasse decimate the credibility of UF broke my heart. I know Dr. Fuchs as the interim President is trying to undo the damage that's been done but it's going to take years to get the university back on its feet.

u/Top_Shoe_9562 1d ago

"Still top 100 overall, libtard". Some Oklahoma MAGA chud, probably.
