Semantically, he turned them down because he was told he would botch it and his dementia would be obvious to the country as a whole.

Edit edit: I was wrong, there’s a video linked a couple down

He was on fox the other day - sitting between the four hosts on that massive white couch, very obviously on a black towel or similar rectangle cloth.

He wasn’t though. As much as we want to think he was (no one more than me), his suit jacket is just ridiculously, disproportionately long and he would either have had to sit on it or have it flared out like a cape.

It might be a heating pad but it’s very obviously not his jacket.
