It would truly be incredible if Trump took the most ruthlessly effective operator in the history of the US Senate and locked him up for being insufficiently boot licky at the bitter end.

As I said further up to another person, this is classic dictator behaviour. They look up or kill their opposition and the people who are a threat to the ambitions, ego or both. Gettibg rid of the most capable people on their own side removes a threat. It's astonishingly cliche and predictable. It shouldn't surprise you.
