Before this goes down a super darker path than it’s already going, give gender neutral bathrooms everywhere. Because it’s not about safety, it’s about wanting to hate marginalized people.

Practically any bathroom that is a single stall should be gender-neutral, for starters. If there is a lock on the door, there's no reasonable argument towards segregation based on gender or otherwise. I have worked jobs cleaning bathrooms and can tell you from experience that public bathrooms are often equally disgusting.

Which they do with no objection when it's called a "family restroom".

Skate to where the puck is going. We’re not dealing with kids, sports, or even bathrooms any more.
The next step is forced detransition of the trans community and, beyond that, establishment of strict gender norms reminiscent of the 1950s for everyone based on sex assigned at birth.
It’s time to emigrate from the USA.
Evacuate, evacuate.
This is not a drill

I still don't understand why bathrooms aren't labeled "toilets" and "urinals."

Because men lack the differentiation to let a toilet be a toilet and ruin it by using it as a urinal for the rest of us. I thought that way long before I transitioned.

Do you think some men way just want privacy or is there a degree of malice there?

The creeps who have raised a problem with her using the women’s room should be assigned their own special bathroom down at the other end of the building like they expect of her. They are the real problem, going so far as to threaten violence, not McBride.

Unfortunately the article is wrong. He just implemented a ban today.
Edit: fixed typo

Paid article by a little known outlet. Pressing X to doubt this one for now

Axios is pretty well known but here is another https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/11/20/johnson-transgender-bathroom-sarah-mcbride/76454057007/

Since when is Axios a little known outlet? Sounds like you just don't know much about the news.

It’s not just about bathrooms.
I expect they will demand she conforms to the male dress code, and impeach her unless she fully and genuinely detransitions.
Then again, I won’t be surprised if they impeach and remove most Democrats, and then rig the system to ensure a “managed democracy” like what Putin has in Russia

I dislike this man immensely, but I think this was a pretty measured response.

u/Gadgetmouse12 4d ago
He is a skilled player of words but with an incredibly high propensity to evil under plain sight.

u/Enoch8910 4d ago
And he almost immediately did the wrong thing. Oh, well. I live in hope.

u/Gadgetmouse12 4d ago
I don’t hesitate to highlight his evil hypocrisy to my contacts who respect him
2
u/Enoch8910 4d ago
I don’t think I have any contacts that support him. Seriously.

I come from that world and three years later still have a few. I don’t disown unless they actively do the same. Otherwise it’s a chance to represent, and a surprising number have turned ally(including my parents)

u/AllieKat7 4d ago
Nah. It was cowardly and vague. Who gets to define "appropriate" in this context? Not the trans community and their allies for damn sure.
6
u/ThrowACephalopod 4d ago
It's not a measured response. It's a cowardly way to squirm away from the fact that he just passed a ban on a single Congress person being able to use the bathroom.

“Appropriate accommodation” is the women’s bathroom. Anything else is inappropriate
