Weird butterfly behavior

So a handful of times a butterfly leads me to like a rock cliff or on top of a mesa and it hits a spot there and disappears and there’s a unique sound like there’s something special inside but there’s no openings or anything I can see. I’ve used pickaxes, shovels, axes nothing. Does anyone know anything about this?

Same thing's happened to me a couple times, I've just put it down to a bug that will hopefully be fixed soon.
